A Successful Career After Divorce

Chapter 32 Not Easy to Bully

Ranita stopped in her tracks and looked at Addyson with a faint expression. Addyson, on the other hand, became more aggressive and rolled her eyes, “What are you looking at? You’ve been kicked out of here, thinking you’re still the madam of the Stuart family!? A fallen phoenix is not as good as a chicken! Hmph!”

“Addyson!” Ranita’s expression remained calm. “It’s my business whether Shannon offends me or not. As for you… you took at least five bottles of expensive face cream from my dressing table, two bracelets, and a designer bag. That adds up to over forty thousand dollars!”

“You… I didn’t do that!” Addyson was almost jumping up in anger. “Miss Bowman, don’t talk nonsense!”All text © NôvelD(r)a'ma.Org.

“I’m not talking nonsense,” Ranita said coldly after pausing for a moment. “Go to your room and look for them yourself if you don’t believe me. The face cream might be used up already but the bracelets and bag should still be there right?” She sneered, “Addyson, those things are all from department stores with unique codes inside! Do you want to confront me at the police station?”

“You… stop accusing me falsely!” Addyson was scared because Ranita had hit it right on target! She had used up all of that face cream long ago but she couldn’t bear to throw away those branded bracelets and bag since they were meant to show off outside.

“Do I need to call the police then?”

One sentence made Addyson tremble, “What do you want from me?”

“If you have done something wrong, then keep a low profile instead of bumping into others’ hands.” Ranita felt like she didn’t need those things anymore since she left Boulderland Mansion so there was no point in pursuing it further but Addyson insisted on bringing trouble upon herself.

“Do I look like an easy target?”

The last sentence made Addyson deflate instantly like a drowning chicken with tears in her eyes begging for mercy, “Miss Bowman… I’m sorry… my mouth got ahead of myself! Please forgive me.”

“Please don’t tell Mrs. Stuart or my uncle about this.” Although Addyson was also a college student who knew how to please Amiya and Holly well enough, stealing would cause trouble beyond just offending the Stuart family members; Robert would definitely give her some punishment too!

The worst part was that she might lose this job!

“These suitcases…”

“I’ll help you move them out!” Addyson immediately bent down respectfully helping Ranita carry things carefully while accompanying her saying goodbye politely, “Take care, Miss Bowman!”

Ranita’s gaze passed over Addyson and landed on Holly, who had hurriedly arrived. She then smiled ambiguously and said, “Thank you, Miss Calderon. I hope you have a pleasant life!”

Addyson kept her head down and dared not say a word. She only felt relieved when she saw Ranita get on the car and leave. However, her relief was short-lived as Holly slapped her before she could react.

“Addyson, you are my family’s dog. What are you doing, fawning over that despicable Ranita? If you want to follow her, I’ll make it happen!”

Faced with Holly’s rage, Addyson couldn’t express her grievances. She covered her burning cheek and apologized, “Miss, I was wrong. I’m sorry!”

“Sorry? Haha, what’s the use of an apology? You pretend to be loyal in front of me but act differently behind my back. I’m going to tell Robert and have him kick you out!”

Upon hearing this, Addyson’s legs went weak.

She deeply regretted getting involved with Ranita. How could she have imagined that just a few words would lead her into this situation?

But at the same time, Addyson was filled with anger!

If she were to be driven away, it would all be Ranita’s fault! If Ranita hadn’t threatened her, she wouldn’t have been misunderstood by Holly!

In conclusion, the biggest mistake was Ranita’s!
