A Successful Career After Divorce

Chapter 889: Infuriated

Brendon liked kissing her.

When this thought crossed Ranita’s mind, her face turned even redder. She tilted her head slightly, “Get up, someone might come in and see us.”

“Lovers are supposed to kiss and hug, aren’t they?” Brendon lightly touched her nose with his fingertip, his voice carrying a teasing laugh. “Don’t you think so?”

“No, they aren’t…” Ranita denied, “Get up! This is an office, being too intimate here isn’t appropriate!”

“And… Miss Murphy is still outside!”

Brendon’s eyebrows raised, “Then why don’t you take the initiative and make her jealous?”

Ranita stared at him in surprise.

How had Brendon become like this? He was quite good at using his advantages now.

“You’re so bad!”

“I am not! Don’t accuse me!” Brendon paused, then explained seriously, “I’ve never been intimate with Shannon. We haven’t kissed or held hands… Don’t say such things!”

The engagement was arranged by Amiya.

“But didn’t you get engaged to her?”

“You ran away back then, and I was very sad. The engagement was arranged by my mother.” Brendon frowned, unsure how to explain.

“Ranita, the past…”

“Don’t bring up the past!” Ranita interrupted him. Many things from the past were too upsetting; she didn’t want to mention them again.

Brendon lowered his head and gave her a gentle kiss.

As he kissed her, Ranita’s mind started to burn.

“Let’s go out! It’s getting late!” Ranita’s face was still red. She reached out to adjust her collar, but Brendon was faster. His slender fingers carefully fixed her collar and buttoned it all the way to the top.

Ranita was speechless.NôvelDrama.Org holds this content.

“It’s too hot; don’t button the top two.”

“No way!” Brendon opposed, his narrow eyes carrying a dangerous look. “Who do you want to show?”

“No one can see! You’re so petty!” Ranita pouted playfully, but her lips curled up, clearly in a good mood.

At that moment, an impatient Shannon knocked and entered, “Ranita, Brendon, are you ready to go?”

Shannon’s eyes were fixed on Ranita. She noticed Ranita’s flirtatious eyes, flushed cheeks, and even her red lips.

It was obvious she had been kissed.

Shannon bit her lip and asked sourly, “Ranita, your face is so red. Are you feeling unwell?”

“If you’re not feeling well, maybe you shouldn’t go for dinner. We could take you home to rest first!”

Ranita looked at Shannon coldly.

She had thought Brendon’s words earlier were hurtful, but now she felt she had been too soft-hearted. Shannon was shameless; why should she be given any face?

Ranita gently tucked a strand of hair behind her ear and leaned slightly closer to Brendon, smiling shyly and giving him a playful glare. “It’s all your fault!”

With that one sentence, everything was clear.

Brendon grabbed her fingers and laughed softly, “Yes, yes, it’s all my fault.”

“Shannon, don’t tease her! She gets embarrassed easily.”

Shannon’s face stiffened.

She stood there dumbfounded for a moment before forcing out a sentence, “I see… Haha, Brendon, you and Ranita have a great relationship.”

“Yes!” Brendon nodded, his eyebrows raised in a pleased expression.

Shannon felt even more defeated.

She clenched her fists tightly, anger boiling in her chest that she couldn’t swallow. If Brendon weren’t there, she would have loved to rush over and slap Ranita.
