Sylvie found herself being reluctant to leave the kids. But eventually, she had to go. And even until she left, their mother still hadn't arrived to pick them up.

One day, she'd intentionally wait around for however long it'd take so she could meet this woman and tell her to take the children's security more seriously.

Just as she was reaching home, she got a text from the person she'd been awaiting feedback from on Cindy. She'd asked him to gather any important information on Cindy that she could use, and finally, there were answers. Sylvie was in the living room, her bag strapped around her shoulder as she read the text on her screen over and over. She couldn't believe it. So, Cindy had such an important position but kept it hidden from the public? Why? Sylvie's feeling of triumph surpassed whatever sense of reasoning she was supposed to have. Now, she knew exactly what to do to get back at backstabber.

She heard someone come into the house from behind but was too lost in her phone to pay any attention. But she nearly jumped out of her skin when a big hand touched the back of her nape.

"Hello, gorgeous."

She gasped, turning around to find Lex before her, wearing a brown suit and seeming all cooperate. She frowned. Was it necessary for him to touch her like that?

"Hi," she mumbled, dropping her gaze and stepping away.

She hadn't seen him for a long time now. The few times he'd come visiting, Sylvie had made sure to keep a safe distance between them. But now, she was too distracted with her phone to see him coming. And even now, she tried to do the same. She tried to walk away, but he stood in her way.

"You've been avoiding me," he said, stating the obvious.

Sylvie pretended to be confused. "What do you mean? You and I, we've only met once, Lex, and it definitely wouldn't have happened if you weren't engaged to June."

She tried to leave again, but Lex put a hand on her waist, still blocking her path.

Sylvie darted her eyes around. Anyone could walk in on them and get the wrong impression. What was he doing?

"Please, I need you to step out of my way. I really don't want to be rude," she struggled to steady her voice as she spoke.

Lex chuckled. "You rejected my proposal the last time. Have you any idea how much it hurt, Sylvie?"

This time, Sylvie glared at him. She hated men like him who couldn't control the organ between their legs. He was enraged to her cousin for God's sake! How could he make advances at her? He was truly disgusting.

"I think you should focus on my sister and stop trying to play with her emotions, Mr. Lex." Her voice was sterner pow. "She loves you, and I think you do considering the fact that you'd driven all the way the OTG anniversary party the other night for an intimate moment in the car with her. Seriously, this is disappointing."

She tried to leave again and was stopped by Lex as usual. But this time, he grabbed her wrist, his face growing more serious.

"What're you talking about?" There was a frown on his face.

Sylvie rolled her eyes. 'He's obviously surprised I caught them, she thought.

"You don't have to worry. I was the only one around when it happened and I haven't told a single soul until this moment. But you have to-

"No, I'm damn serious. What do you mean? I wasn't at the party Lex's tone grew more serious.

Sylvie scoffed. He was going to deny it now? Seriously?

"Yes, you didn't attend the

party, but you drove over to have sex with her in the car. I clearly saw her coming out of your car, Lex. I heard your moans. Really, you need to stop pretending. It's still not gonna make me like you." Lex's grip on her wrist became painfully tight until he let her go. His face turned red, annoyance taking over.
