As Millie’s figure disappeared into the lobby, Joanna’s voice slowly reached Winston’s ears. “Mills also mentioned that if we get married, we must invite her

Winston’s already cold expression turned even frostier. Why should they invite Millie? To cause trouble?

Joanna studied Winston’s reaction. It was obvious he was mad. She bit her lip, realizing he still cared about Millie’s feelings.

Joanna swore to work harder to keep Winston wrapped around her finger.

Just as she was about to leave, she overheard the nurse inside on the phone.

“Dr. Caldwell, you forgot to take Sonny Alpers‘ medication.”

Joanna immediately turned to look. Sonny?

Upon hearing that name, Winston’s head snapped around, too. Could it be the same Sonny from prison?

“Which room is he in?” Winston asked, bending down.

Seeing it was Winston, the nurse told him the room number. Then, he said to Joanna, “Let’s go take a look.”

Joanna frowned and gripped Winston’s arm. Did they really need to go?

“What are you afraid of?” Winston glanced sideways at her. He won’t retaliate against you. He’s very sick.”

Joanna hesitated for a moment before following Winston.

Hazel was somewhat stunned to see Joanna in the cardiac surgery department. After a while, she realized Joanna was there to visit a patient.

Joanna appeared delicate and charming next to Winston,

Two guards were posted at the door of Sonny’s room. Once Winston showed his identification, they allowed him to enter.

Their presence made Sonny’s heart race. Joanna watched as the blood pressure and heart rate readings on the monitor spiked and couldn’t help but roll her eyes inwardly. NôvelDrama.Org owns this text.

What a coward! All she needed Sonny to do was tell a lie, and he was scared to death.

Yet, Sonny had incredible luck. Joanna had tried twice to eliminate him to avoid future complications, but both times he had been saved.

Sonny stared at Joanna, his hands clenched into fists. However, he couldn’t say a word.

This despicable woman! He had promised to keep his mouth shut, yet she still wanted him dead.

Winston saw the hostility in Sonny’s eyes as he looked at Joanna,

Feigning fear, Joanna hid behind Winston. “Win…”

“Is it him?” Winston asked her.

Joanna nodded. “Yes, it was him back then. He stabbed me in the back with a dagger and then threw me into the sea.”

Sonny’s eyes widened in shock. Winston sensed that he had something to say,

“What is it?” Winston leaned in to ask.

Sonny slowly pointed at Joanna. She immediately narrowed her eyes, silently warning him to think twice. Otherwise, his wife, children, and parents would all perish with him.

Sonny noticed the threat in Joanna’s eyes and eventually gave up. Seeing that he had closed his eyes, Winston turned to Joanna.

She seemed genuinely scared and gulped nervously. “Win… Let’s go. Seeing him makes me tremble.” Winston raised an eyebrow but replied, “Alright.”

Sonny watched the two leave, and only then did his blood pressure gradually stabilize. Joanna was so ruthless and vicious. However, he didn’t have much time left.

As Winston closed the door, his hand slowly tightened on the doorknob. The last time he saw Sonny in prison, he had praised Joanna. But why did Sonny freak out this time?

That night, Millie had just arrived at the gate of Rachel’s villa when she saw the door open. Standing in the doorway were Rachel and her manager, Laura.

“Laura, you’re here too!” Millie said in surprise.

At that moment, Rachel was clad in a black–and–white casual outfit, her face hidden under a hat and mask. Millie wondered if she was going out.

Laura explained, “This situation was Rach’s mistake, but Mr. Webson took the blame for her. I’m taking Rach out to dinner with him. Since you’re all friends, why don’t you join us, Ms. Caldwell?”
