The Rewritten Love: A Second Beginning

Chapter 1242

Chapter 1242

At the restaurant, Liam and Blake had ordered their food. A woman sat across from them with a twelve-

year-old child by her side. The kid was restless and kept poking at his food and spilling it everywhere.

The lady gently chided him, but the kid did not care. The kid huffed at her and then continued to play

with his food, and eventually the lady proceeded to ignore the child.

The child’s name was Luke Beaver, while the woman was named Greta Hart. She used to perform in

theater plays, and was still as beautiful as she always had been. There were some wrinkles on her face

from age, but you could still see that she used to be a gorgeous woman. She was dressed in a red coat

and wearing a pearl necklace.

Yet, Greta looked slightly annoyed. She told Liam, “Luke still has tuition classes tomorrow, and my

husband doesn’t know I’m here. If you have something to say, make it quick.”

The mother and son sat one seat away from each other. At Liam side was Blake. Liam said to her, “I

might be getting married soon hope you will come to my wedding.”

Greta glanced at Blake’s face and pursed her lips. She told him nonchalantly, “I’m content with seeing

you grow up healthy. Even though you’re getting married, I have nothing to give you. As for the money

you transferred last time, I’ve already returned it. You can

check the balance and see if there is any shortage. When the rights to

your custody were given to me, I did my due diligence to raise you to an adult. Now that you’re an able-

bodied adult, I hope you can keep some distance from me and my current family.”

Liam’s smile froze. His hand under the table balled into a fist. Blake saw this and knew how upset Liam

was. She had not expected Greta to be so cruel. Ever since she remarried, she did not even want to

acknowledge Liam.

Liam lowered his head and had a sunken gaze. He kept quiet, but a sadness emanated from him. Text content © NôvelDrama.Org.

Greta continued, “However much money you have, you shouldn’t spend it whenever you want. She

looks pretty. Both of you should go on and live your own lives.”

After finishing her sentence, Greta got up and brought Luke away. Blake wanted to chase after her but

was stopped by Liam.

As Greta left the booth, Liam said slowly with a cracked voice, “Don’t go after her.”

A tear fell onto his hand as he lowered his head. Blake knelt before him and stared at his reddened

eyes, “Are you okay, Liam?”

Then, Liam questioned himself despairingly, “How come even she

doesn’t want me?”

Liam had told Blake that making a reservation in this restaurant was very hard. In order to have a meal

with her, he would book a seat almost every year. It was all just to have a meal with her.

“I never blamed her for what happened to me. After she remarried, she left me at a school and never

gave me a second glance again,”

Liam said.

“Am I not good enough?” Liam kept asking.

“Why does she never approve of me? Am I not her biological child?” Liam questioned.

Liam had spent most of his childhood in the hospital. While he was in school, he was often bullied by

the other students. Liam spent almost all of his time studying to gain his mother’s approval, but had

only ever managed to do so once.

While he had been in high school and university, everyone around him would go home for the holidays.

Liam, on the other hand, had

nowhere to go. He was alone most of the time.

Blake stood up and hugged Liam to try to comfort him while rubbing his back. She told him, “You never

needed anyone’s approval. You’re doing wonderfully now, and you’ll find someone who treats you well

wholeheartedly.”

“We haven’t eaten anything yet. Let’s eat first. It’s still early, so we can’t take it slow,” Blake continued.

‘It’s a shame we couldn’t send the invitation out in the end,’ Blake

thought.
