Chapter 1319
"What about me? You said mean things to make me react. Can't I do the same to you?" Esther wasn't a pushover.
After some time, she felt better. For some reason, it felt relaxing and delightful to her when he was powerless against her actions. She was happy to see that he couldn't handle her, even though he didn't like having her around.
She hummed a tune and grabbed an orange from the table nearby. She started to peel and eat it.
"Do you think this place is your home?"
Esther grinned. "Yeah, I treat it like my home. I even think of you as my very sick husband." Then, she held a slice of orange to his lips. "Want some?"
James felt a headache from his anger. He tried to soothe it by massaging his temples and said coldly, "I see what you're doing. Stop smiling. You better leave soon if there's nothing else. I won't be kind to you if you stay."
"Oh, I'm not leaving. Just call the cops." Then, she stood up. "I'm hungry. I'm going to get something to eat. I haven't eaten much these days because I was worried about you."
Esther muttered to herself, then she turned and asked, "What do you think I should eat?"
"It's none of my business."
When Esther heard that, she felt sad inside but acted like she was fine. "Okay, I saw a Meriam restaurant nearby earlier." She said this to test his reaction.
As expected, James opened his eyes and whispered, but Esther heard him.
"You can't handle spicy food, right?"
Happy, Esther realized that he cared about her. "Don't you find me annoying? You don't need to worry about what I eat. We're not related now."
Esther challenged him. When his face turned angry, it made her secretly pleased. This test was simple, but it helped her know if he still had feelings for her.
"Right. It doesn't matter to me. But someone might get a lot of pimples from eating spicy food. If you don't mind that, go ahead," James said calmly, but his words were sharp.
Esther knew she couldn't eat spicy food because it caused pimples, which were hard to clear up quickly. She needed to avoid pimples for her job, so her agent always told her to stay away from spicy food.
"Got it. I won't eat spicy food," Esther said sadly. "But I really need to eat something. I'm starving."Owned by NôvelDrama.Org.
Then, she turned to look at him. She noticed he had closed his eyes, ignoring her, so she decided not to beg for his attention and turned to leave.
But she didn't see his smirk as she left the room.

After being threatened by Luther, those men never caused trouble at the company's door again.
However, Pearl wasn't thinking about that. What mattered most now was her child. She needed to have a healthy baby and prevent any accidents.
But it seemed it wouldn't be that simple.
