Chapter 2250 Whether Alive Or Not
Chapter 2250 Whether Alive Or Not
“Mr. Li, what do you mean by this?” The crowd exclaimed in confusion.
“We don't understand.” Those words from Li Er had undoubtedly left the martial arts world from various provinces in a state of utter perplexity. The crowd questioned Li Er with confusion, utterly bewildered by his statement.
“Don't understand? Is it truly beyond your comprehension? It appears to me that you're merely feigning ignorance, aren't you?”
Li Er sneered, his eyes turning icy as he scanned the crowd.
“Do you now understand that Mr. Chu is not only a national hero but also the savior of our nation?”
“I ask you, where were you when Mr. Chu faced accusations and relentless attacks from thousands of individuals?”
“Where were each and every one of you when Mr. Chu suffered the weight of condemnation? When he was labeled a disgrace and the scourge of the nation, where were your voices?” He paused, allowing his words to hang in the air.
“Oh, I almost forgot. Among those who wished for Mr. Chu's demise in those trying times, every single one of you was included. It was you who labeled Mr. Chu a disgrace to our nation. It was you who desired a dreadful end for Mr. Chu.”
“You, yes, all of you, are the very ones who pushed Mr. Chu to his untimely demise. And now, with what audacity do you seek refuge with Mr. Chu?”
Li Er's eyes glimmered with icy coldness, his gaze laced with scornful mockery. Those consecutive questions thundered like an explosion, reverberating with his furious voice, tinged with profound sorrow, echoing through the vast expanse of heavens and earth.
Faced with Li Er's piercing interrogation, the crowd hung their heads low. Some are overwhelmed with a mixture of shame, guilt, and remorse.
“Mr. Li, please forgive us. Back then, it was a grave misunderstanding on our part. We never could have fathomed that the Dragon Gate would truly bring calamity upon us,” one person spoke up.
“If only we had known earlier, we would have stood by the Unrivalled Grandmaster's side.”
“We would have aided the Unrivalled Grandmaster in fighting against Chen Jiuzhou, dismantling the Dragon Gate together,” the individual continued, his words laced with bitterness. Indeed, they were at fault in that matter. When Ye Fan courageously ventured to Mount Yan alone, with the intention of eradicating the Dragon Gate, not only did they fail to lend a helping hand, but instead, he became the target of entire China's martial arts world. Moreover, they actively participated in the pursuit of Ye Fan.
Some even reveled in the news of Ye Fan's demise in a nuclear explosion, finding it to be a relieving development and deriving great satisfaction from it. After all, in the eyes of the world at that time, Ye Fan was seen as a wicked and malevolent individual. His destruction of the Dragon Gate was perceived as an act aimed at hindering others from attaining power that could challenge his own position.
Thus, many harbored a strong desire for Ye Fan's demise, convinced that such a person deserved death. Yet, who could have foreseen that in less than a year, the tables would turn so drastically? The one who was once condemned by the world as a criminal, scum, and tyrant turned out to be the true protector. Conversely, those they had once regarded as leaders and embodiments of righteousness were unveiled as the true villains. Irony! The greatest irony!
Sometimes, even they themselves felt disillusioned by the complexities of this world.
“A mere misunderstanding? Do you truly believe that brushing it off with a couple of words can absolve you of the foolish deeds you committed? Do you think a casual explanation can make up for the immense grievances and hardships Mr. Chu endured?”
Li Er retorted once again. The people in the crowd lifted their heads and pleaded, “Mr. Li, what do you expect from us then? We can, at most, offer annual tributes and pay homage to the Unrivalled Supreme. However, now is not the time for such discussions.”
“Chen Jiuzhou is a cruel and heartless tyrant, and China's martial arts world is facing a matter of life and death. We believe that if the Unrivalled Grandmaster were still alive, he would never passively stand aside!” Anxiety filled their voices as they attempted to manipulate Li Er using appeals to morality.
“Shut up!” Before they could say more, Li Er exploded in a fit of rage, abruptly standing up. Property of Nô)(velDr(a)ma.Org.
“How dare you utter such words with a straight face?” Li Er continued, his tone seething with contempt.
“Have you no shame for the things you did to Mr. Chu? Are you completely devoid of self- awareness?”
“Not to mention that even if Mr. Chu left behind any trump cards, I would never entrust them to the likes of you!”
“What does the survival of this world have to do with me? What does it have to do with Mr. Chu?” Li Er's voice grew even more fervent.
“If calamity befalls from the heavens, it may be forgiven. But if one brings calamity upon oneself, there is no redemption!”
“Back then, when Mr. Chu destroyed Dragon Gate, he did so with the intention of saving all of you. Yet, your lack of foresight and ingratitude ultimately led to his demise!”
“Now, this is the best punishment for all of you.”
“All of you deserve to die, and should die with him!” Li Er's eyes burned with fury as the long- suppressed emotions within him surged forth. At that moment, Li Er felt an indescribable sense of exhilaration.
For far too long, the fate of Ye Fan had been a profound source of anguish in Li Er's heart. He believed that Mr. Chu's untimely demise was unjust and undeserving. And now, at last, he had the chance to express his grievances! The individuals standing before him were the very ones who had driven Mr. Chu to his death, and they deserved their reckoning!
“Li Er, how dare you utter such words?”
“You're being inhumane, treasonous, spreading hateful speech!”
“Your actions disrespect the country that gave you life. Can you justify yourself to your nation? Can you justify yourself to your people?” Some tried to intimidate Li Er and wielded the banner of national righteousness against him. Yet, Li Er remained unaffected, his sneer undeterred.
“Whether I can justify myself to this country is of little importance. What matters is that Mr. Chu justified himself to this world, and it is you who failed him. Now, it is time for you to repay your debts.”
With his final words spoken, Li Er turned and left, leaving behind a group of motionless martial artists who exchanged glances with one another.
“This Li Er has no shame, utterly devoid of dignity!” one of them exclaimed.
“I say we capture him and subject him to intense interrogation,” another suggested.
“I don't believe that he won't confess under severe measures,” the individual continued.
“Even after Li Er departed, there were still some among the crowd who refused to accept the situation. Having failed in their attempts to persuade him, they could only resort to force. Do you truly believe that the trusted subordinate of Chu Tianfan would yield under our brutal interrogation?” one of them questioned.
“Just forget about it, just as Li Er said, this is our retribution,” another resignedly stated.
“Back then, we truly owe Chu Tianfan an apology...” murmured the crowd.
In the end, the crowd chose not to interrogate Li Er. Perhaps, that was their last vestige of conscience. However, with Li Er's refusal, their final glimmer of hope was undoubtedly shattered. They could only carry the weight of despair and fear, awaiting the complete envelopment of darkness in their world. In China, Western Epea, and other regions, a thick shadow descended upon the land due to the events surrounding Dragon Gate. Surprisingly, though, the land of India remained peaceful. At Elysian Hall, a captivating woman adorned in a moon-yellow gown sat gracefully by a serene stream.
In front of her, the stream flowed gently, while vibrant flowers adorned the surrounding scenery behind her. With utmost care, she tended to a tea set placed upon a burning stove.
“Junie, have you heard the news? China's martial arts world has plunged into chaos,” the woman asked softly. Not long ago, the War God, Sword Saint, and others engaged in a fierce battle with Chen Jiuzhou, the Hall Master of War God Castle.
“The War God suffered severe injuries and managed to escape, his fate now unknown. As for the remaining martial artists, they are now mere lambs waiting to be led to the slaughter by Chen
Jiuzhou.”
Across the table, was a girl with golden hair and blue eyes, talking about the recent events she had heard. Upon hearing that, Junie remained unperturbed, responding calmly, “Those who seek justice shall find justice. One can only blame oneself for the consequences.”
The martial arts world of China had once stood as the pinnacle of strength in the world. Yet, over the years, it had been plagued by internal conflicts. And when they finally had Chu Tianfan, the martial artists of China united against him, ultimately driving him to his demise through their own actions.
Given the current state of China's martial arts world, Junie couldn't find any other word other than 'deserved' to describe it. In contrast, the situation in India was undoubtedly much more favorable. The primary reason behind this stark contrast was King Folo's ability to maintain clarity amidst the madness that had consumed the global martial arts world due to the emergence of Dragon Gate. Especially when King Folo learned of Ye Fan's intention to destroy Dragon Gate and his proclamation of it being the source of calamity, King Folo's doubts about the Dragon Gate Project deepened. Consequently, there was no mobilization of martial artists from India to partake in the Dragon Gate Project. It could be said that India was among the few nations in the martial arts world that remained unaffected by the Dragon Gate Project.
“Exactly!” Noa exclaimed emphatically.
“They got what they deserved!”
“Who wouldn't believe in Ye Fan and still dared to kill him?” Noa clenched her fists tightly, her anger palpable. Whenever Noa recalls the incident of China's martial arts world's siege against Ye Fan, her inner fury is unparalleled.
While the two women were chatting, someone suddenly came to inform them that King Folo and others had come to seek an audience.
“Why is he here again? Inform him that I'm in seclusion, cultivating, and will not see anyone,” Junie said with a frown.
“But, Ms. Junie, King Folo insists that he won't give up until he receives a definite answer,” the messenger conveyed.
“He simply wants to know whether the Unrivalled Supreme, Chu Tianfan, is still alive or not.”
