Finnegan was friends with the Haimowitz, Miles, and Chappell families from Jadeborough and had the

absolute support of the Wahlstrom and Langdon families from Bellridge.

He could even produce the South-North Badge of the Martial Arts Alliance and suppress Oswald,

Bernice felt that even Stephen might not be able to bring forth such connections and resources.

She had this subtle feeling that she might not be good enough for Finnegan anymore.

“Silly girl!” Finnegan chuckled bitterly. “Don’t think like that. All along, I’ve felt that I’m not good enough’

for you. After all, whether it’s your background, your demeanor, or anything else, you’re the type of

woman I’ve always idolized in my heart!”

She will always be the woman I idolized no matter who she is.

Bernice was quite content, yet she feigned annoyance. You’re always flattering me. So, tell me, how

much room do I take up in your heart?”

“Fifty percent!”

Without a moment’s hesitation, Finnegan gave his answer.

Bernice’s expression stiffened.

Finnegan added, “Fifty percent is for you, and the other fifty percent is for family and friends. After all,

I’m not the type to disregard my own kin!”

Bernice had felt a bit upset after hearing the answer, but when she heard Finnegan’s explanation, her

eyes instantly welled up with tears. She hugged Finnegan tightly and said, “You scoundrel, you’re so

good with words. Did you practice on a lot of girls?”

Finnegan held her close and said, “You’re my first love, my first kiss, my first-”

“Stop it!”

Bernice seemed to know what Finnegan was about to say, so she raised her hand to cover his mouth.

Finnegan laughed and removed her hand. “Let’s talk about the question you were curious about earlier.

The South-North Badge of the Martial Arts Alliance-

“You don’t have to tell me.” Bernice shook her head. “I don’t want to know now. All I need to know is

that you’re in my heart, and I’m in yours. Nothing else matters! No matter how excellent or powerful you

become, Finnegan, in my eyes, you’ll always be that meanie. That’s more than enough.”

Finnegan was taken aback. “Darling, no wonder you’re considered the most beautiful among the Four

Beauties of Jadeborough!”

In addition to her captivating beauty and impressive abilities, she possessed an elegance that set her

apart.

Above all, Bernice was empathetic, offering men the utmost understanding and tolerance.

If he were to consider the other three beauties of Jadeborough-Wynter, Sasha, and the injured

Waylynn -perhaps none of them could match up to Bernice’s level.

Bernice joked, “So, I feel like it’s you who’s not good enough for me now. You got lucky.”

Meanwhile, after leaving Jerome Medical Clinic, Bruce returned to the Zimmerman residence.

Millicent and others were sitting in the living room, chatting about something unknown.

Seeing him return, Millicent was the first to speak. “You’re back?”

“Who else do you expect?” Bruce huffed, feeling quite irritated at the moment due to Finnegan’s

statement that Timothy was not his biological grandson.

Millicent thought Bruce was upset about the incident in the morning. “Bruce, you can’t blame us for this

morning. Finnegan didn’t tell us that he has such abilities. If we had known he was even more impres

than Mr. Sable, we wouldn’t have opposed his relationship with Bernice.”

Bishop chimed in, “Dad, please don’t be angry anymore. After what happened this morning, we realiz

our mistake. We won’t mess with Finnegan anymore, or try to break him up with Bernice.”

The expression on Bruce’s face softened considerably when he heard that.

“It’s good that you all think this way. Finnegan is undoubtedly an opportunity for the Zimmerman family

to reach new heights. Also, not a single word about what you saw this morning can be leaked.

Otherwise, don’t even dream about getting anything from the Zimmerman family’s assets in the future.”

Bishop quickly responded, “Dad, don’t worry. We know what to do. In fact, we just discussed inviting

Bernice and Finnegan over for dinner at our place, so we can apologize to them in person!”

“You sure changed your tune quickly.” Bruce sneered, fully aware of the reasons. “But that’s fine. Later,

I’ll call Bernie and ask her to invite Finnegan over to our house. You should do your best to mend

fences.”

After a pause, he thought of Finnegan’s statement that Timothy was not his biological grandson.

He glanced at Sapphire with a troubled heart, then withdrew his gaze. “I’m a bit tired since I didn’t take

a nap. I’ll go rest in the study. You guys carry on chatting.”

After watching him go upstairs, Timothy whispered, “Grandma, Grandpa has agreed.”

The previously silent Sapphire also looked excited. “Mom, your plan is brilliant. If it succeeds, we won’t

have anything to fear.”

Queenie wore a bitter expression. “Grandma, do we really have to do this? It doesn’t feel right to me!”

Millicent grumbled, “Enough with the nonsense. I’ve made up my mind. If this continues, your family will

only get the scraps of the Zimmerman family’s wealth. Are you okay with that?”

Queenie’s expression stiffened slightly. She nodded reluctantly. “I understand now!”

Bruce, who had already arrived in the study, was naturally unaware of the ulterior motives behind

Millicent’s and the others’ change in behavior.

After sitting down, he said to the butler with a weary expression, “I need you to do something for me.

Not even Millicent must know about it.”

“Mr. Zimmerman, please speak.”

“Find a way to get a hair sample from Tim, and send it along with mine to the paternity testing center.”

The butler’s expression subtly changed. “Mr. Zimmerman, what happened? Why do you need to

conduct a paternity test with Mr. Timothy?”

Bruce lowered his eyes. “Sapphire used to be a dancer. I’m a bit worried.”

“I understand now.”

As evening approached, Finnegan bid farewell to Bernice, who had spent the day with him at Jerome

Medical Clinic.

Under Zephyr’s and the others’ teasing expressions, Finnegan gently stroked Bernice’s hair. “Do you

really have to leave tonight?”

Bernice’s face turned a shade of red. She glared at Finnegan. “I have a lot of work to catch up on

today. I’ll have to work overtime tonight. Besides, Jerome Medical Clinic just opened today. Won’t you

be busy too?”

“Not really,” Finnegan said with a smile. “As long as Regi Group continues to offer free medical care,

everyone will flock to their medical facilities. I’m really not that busy.”

She could tell right away what Finnegan was thinking.

Bernice muttered under her breath, “Meanie! But I’m busy! I’m leaving first!”

But after taking two steps, she turned back around. “But is everything really okay with the Sable family

and Master Farrington?”

Finnegan gave a helpless smile. “You’ve asked me five times this afternoon. Everything is all right. At

most, it will take ten days to resolve everything, maybe even just three to five days!”

Bernice said, “Then you better be careful. I’m afraid they might act out of sheer desperation.”

“I will!”

As he watched Bernice get in the car and leave, his smile faded. “Vixen!”

Alisha walked over from the side, her eyes filled with silent resentment. She didn’t care that there were

others around. “So it’s true. Only when she’s gone do you remember me”

“Stop talking nonsense. Get the car, take me to the hospital to see my parents, and then we’ll head

back to Dragon Bay. I suspect there will be a special program tonight!”

Alisha snorted. “You’re such a jerk. Sooner or later, I’ll make you cry for your mommy!”

Zephyr and the others widened their eyes. “Ms. Wahlstrom, you’re so domineering!”
