A Lifetime With You Chapter 96

A Lifetime With You Chapter 96

When Damien arrived at the beach, there was no sign of anyone. Selina was gone, and Ava was nowhere to be found. The tides were rising. The waves started to become stronger as the wind blew fiercely. “I found something!” One of his men yelled suddenly. He rushed over desperately, only to find that his men had found a shoe from the sea. It was Ava’s shoes. “Sir, Madam may have…” “Impossible! Keep looking!” Damien’s eyes were red and his voice was even louder than before. How could something happen to her? Didn’t she escape from the container? Didn’t he arrest all the traffickers?

How could she be in danger? A few minutes later, another side of Ava’s shoe was washed up by the shore right beside his feet.

He staggered and nearly fell.

It must be a mistake, right? How did she fall into the sea?

“No way! That’s impossible!”

Damien turned and left. He was going to other places to look for her. She must be somewhere else now!

Perhaps, she could already be at home since she successfully escaped from the jetty. “Where are you going, Damien?” Selden stopped him. He shook off Selden’s hand and continued to walk.

The tides were even higher than before, and it brought much inconvenience to the rescue team. Selden contacted them to search for Ava. The helicopter made a huge noise while hovering above the sea. On the other hand, Damien still couldn’t accept the fact that Ava had fallen into the sea.

This must be a joke. Ava and he were still overjoyed with the fact that they were bringing a new life into this world a few days ago, but now… He even made up his mind to protect her from any harm. He

didn’t even have the chance to tell her words of promise yet. She must be fooling around with him…

Damien run and stumbled away from the sea while still searching for her.

However, there wasn’t any sign of her. “Ava Nagel, come out!” The echo of his voice could be heard from far away, yet it was to no avail after searching high and low for her.

The rescue team continued looking until it was past midnight, but they got nothing. Damien was in despair. He felt helpless that there was no sign of her. At the same time, he was also Text property © Nôvel(D)ra/ma.Org.

afraid of hearing any news of her.

“It’s impossible…”

He kept muttering to himself. No matter how many times he repeated it, he still couldn’t convince himself.

Damien’s men were able to catch Selina a few miles away from the jetty. She was covered in dirt and sweat, and she looked like a mess.

“What did you do to Ava?” Damien grabbed the collar of her shirt and asked coldly. Selina laughed loudly like crazy. Her eyes were filled with madness at this moment. “She’s dead! Ava Nagel is dead! Hahaha… She’s finally dead. From now on, you’re all mine…”

“Where is she? Give her back to me!” Damien clenched his fist and punched her hard in the face.

But it was as if Selina couldn’t feel pain at all. Blood was gushing out from her gums yet all she did was laugh even louder.

“I said, she’s dead! Find her in hell if you want! Hahaha…” Pointing in the direction of the coast, she said, “I pushed her into the sea, right there. She can’t swim so she struggled for a while and oops! She

was gone!”

“You’re lying!”

“Why would I lie to you? Damien Radbury, do you know how deep the sea is at the jetty? Do you think she sank to the bottom of the sea and got eaten by the fish down there?” “Nonsense! You’re lying!”

At this point, Damien was repeating the same thing over and over again.

He released Selina and stood up.

Selina suddenly hugged his leg. “Damien… Damien, there is no one between us now. You don’t even need to divorce Ava Nagel anymore. Can we get married please?” Damien gave her a hard kick, but she threw herself at him again and grabbed his arm tightly. His men quickly came and pressed her down, making her unable to move a single muscle. Selina suddenly burst out laughing, “She’s dead! She will never come back! Do you think I’ll let her get what I couldn’t get my hands on? Don’t even think about being with her at all. Not in this life, nor the next! Never!” Damien restrained the urge to kill this woman and he gave his men a new order, “Hand her over to the cops. Don’t be too nice to her, just make sure she doesn’t die.”

“Yes, Sir.”

Standing by the coast in the chill breeze, Damien’s hands shaking.

She was dead… She was dead…

Selina’s words were like a curse as they lingered in his ears over and over again. That crazy woman really pushed Ava into the sea and yet here he was, unable to do anything. He swore to protect her. But in the end, he had only hurt her. Ever since she had married him, he had only been bringing harm to her. He always thought that there was still time for him to make it up to her.

However…

The searchlights were set up on the surface of the sea while the helicopter kept searching. The sea was pitch-black during the night and it was like falling into a black hole when one stared at it for long. If she really fell into the deep sea, he would do everything he could to get her back. n “Ava… I won’t let you die.” Damien walked forward slowly, and he nearly fell into the sea. Would the strong ocean breeze send him where Ava was? “Damien Radbury, stop right there!” Selden noticed that Damien was acting strange and quickly rushed forward to pull him back. He used too much strength and as a result, both of them fell on the sand by the shore. Selden didn’t care about his own wounds and he punched Damien’s face with his fist. Yet, Damien didn’t even dodge. “Are you crazy? Do you know how deep the water is? Are you going to die before you found Ava?” Damien took a harsh punch, but he didn’t react at all.

He just sat up and stared emptily at the endless sea.

“Selina told me that she’s dead.” “So you are believing whatever that woman said? Aren’t you the one who said Ava would be fine?” Damien let out a bitter laugh and turned to look at the man beside him. Ava was in trouble and Damien was sure that the sadness Selden felt must not be any lesser than him, but Selden was way calmer. “Do you think Ava would rather see you or me in the afterworld?” Damien asked out of nowhere. Selden was taken aback by his question. He then replied, “There’s one thing for sure. If you end your life recklessly now, you are only bringing pain to your family, while letting your enemies be joyful.” Pain for his loved ones, joy for his enemies… How would he allow his enemies to be overjoyed? Damien suddenly stood up. His gaze was even colder this time. “Where are you going?” Selden asked immediately. “I want to see her no matter if she’s alive or dead. I won’t allow her to die!”
