A Love Restored 55
Chapter 55
(Then)
My phone buzzed with urgency, interrupting my evening routine. Well, it wasn’t much of an evening ‘routine if it was just watching reruns of Gossip Girl. I glanced at the screen, and saw it was Felix calling. I hesitated for a moment before picking up, not sure what could be so urgent.
“Flora!” He breathed, “Flora, you have to come over. It’s important, Felix’s voice pleaded through the phone.
My heart raced at the worry in his voice. “Felix, what’s going on? Is everything okay?”
I
got hurt.” He said.
“Hurt?
“Can you just come? No one is home.”
“I’m coming.”
1 rushed downstairs and started walking very fast to Felix’s house. A thousand scenarios went round in my head. What if he had gotten into a fight? What if it was with Jason? And what if he was in some real trouble?
His bossy demeanor, though typical of him, carried an unusual urgency. Or maybe I was thinking too much
The door swung open before I even had a chance to knock, revealing Felix, his eyes filled with a mix of concern and relief. Flora, thank you for coming so quickly. Come in.”
I stepped inside, feeling a bit like an intruder in his space. “What’s happening, Felix? Why did you sound so worried?”
He closed the door behind me and grabbed me by my wrist. “Come with me,” he ordered. I followed as he led me out the back door into the back garden. The garden, usually simply made uo, was transformed into a magical haven Fairy lights adorned the trees, and the soft glow illuminated the surprise he had prepared. I blinked in surprise, suddenly aware of the effort he had put into this,
“Felix, what’s all this?” I whispered
His fingers intertwined in mine.
He sighed, a mix of nerves and sincerity. “You asked for something. I’m just trying to deliver.”All content is property © NôvelDrama.Org.
1 blinked, my eyes wide as he handed me a bouquet of flowers. The soft hues matched the ambiance around us. All whites and pinks. The flowers were white and pink, too. “Flora, will you go to prom with me?”
His bossy exterior melted away in that vulnerable moment. I found myself smiling, touched by his sincerity. “Yes, Felix. I’d love to
Relief washed over him, and the night unfolded like a dream. He grinned, and made a show of sighing dramatically. I rolled my eyes. As if I would say

“Dinner, my
flower?” He pointed to the small table he had decorated. On it, lay two empty plates.
I nodded, and Felix made me sit down. Then, he ran inside and brought out a dish. Pasta!
“I made it,” he be
he beamed.
We shared dinner, the overcooked pasta a testament to his efforts. I stifled a laugh, not wanting to hurt his feelings. I took a few bites and complimented him on it, thanking him for cooking for me.
When he finally ate, he made a face. “There is so much salt in this. Stop cating:”

I shook my head. “This is the best meal I’ve ever

As we sat under the twinkling lights, his arm securely around me, I couldn’t help but feel a warmth spreading through me. He might be bossy and arrogant and cocky, but beneath that exterior was someone who genuinely cared, someone who wanted to make me happy. His soft, sweet side was reserved for me. It was mine,
We sat on a bench later in the evening, surrounded by the soft melody of crickets. “Flora, I really wanted to make tonight special for you. You mean the world to me, and I just want to make you happy. Every day for my whole life.
Resting my head on his shoulder, I felt a surge of affection inside me. It was moments like this that made me love him so deeply. Truly and madly. “You already have. Felix. This is perfect.” I looked up at him, “I’ll always be happy, as long as we are together.”
“I’m never letting you get away from me.” He snorted, like it was the funniest thing to him. Us being separated.
It was funny to me, too.
The night continued, filled with laughter and moments that felt like stolen glimpses into our own little world. Eventually, we found ourselves sitting on his bed me, wrapped in a blanket, and him at the foot of the bed with my feet in his lap.

“You know, Felix. I began, “I would’ve gone with you without all this.”
He smiled warmly. I know. But sometimes I end up taking you for granted,” he chuckled, “You deserve these special things. I want to do it for you.”
1 leaned in to hug him, and he pulled me to him
His hug enveloped me, and I couldn’t help but feel a sense of contentment. “I’d do anything for you. He said it softly, but his tone was determined. Angry, even. “Some things you might hate me for. But I’ll protect you. From any one. No matter what.”
“What are you talking about?”
He shook his head. I was too comfortable in his embrace to ask more.
