A Pigeon Pair: Sweetheart, Let's Get Married

Chapter 28 Meet at the Kindergarten

Chapter 28 Meet at the Kindergarten

Damn hangover.

Everly felt her head was about to explode.

Recently, Everly woke herself up with the alarm clock every day because of jet lag.

When she woke up today, she felt that her head was too heavy to lift.

She sat up with her hands supporting her head. She felt thirsty and dry in her throat and even

something wrong with her stomach.

In a word, she felt dry all over.

She vaguely remembered that she was drunk yesterday.

However, she could not remember what had happened after getting drunk.

In the past, Everly didn't know that she would forget everything after getting drunk. And she still couldn't

remember it no matter how hard she tried to recall.

Later, she knew it.

Therefore, in the past few years, she had never been able to remember who the man she had a one-

night stand with was back then.

Everly stretched out her hand to press her temples and sat there dumbfounded for ten minutes, but still

was unable to sober up.

Hangover was terrible.

But she still had to go to work today. Also, before she went to work yesterday, she promised Edmond to

to take him to the kindergarten today.

Looking at the time, Everly swallowed her saliva and got out of bed with her hands supporting herself.

She staggered to the bathroom. When she was brushing her teeth and washing her face, Everly

suddenly thought of something.

No way. Wasn't she drunk last night?

How did she get home?

She hurriedly washed her face, changed her clothes. When she went downstairs, she saw Edmond

was eating breakfast in the living room. Seeing here her daughter coming down, Gloria waved, "Come

here to eat."

Realizing that Everly wasn't well, Gloria sighed, "Your brother sent you here late last night. He said that

you drank too much. Everly, don't work too hard. It's unnecessary. We don't need you to earn money to

support our family."

As she spoke, she brought out a bowl of tea which would help with the hangover, and said, "Here, drink

this first."

"Mom, it was my brother that sent me back last night?" Did she meet her brother at midnight?

It shouldn't be that coincidental.

Did Maverick contact her brother?

That was possible.

Everly felt a little guilty. Now that her brother must know she had become that man's secretary. It was a

normal change of job, but she felt a little uneasy though she couldn't tell why.

"Who else could it be?" Gloria also sat down and said, "I have to go to the hospital later. Your father is

in good condition and will be discharged in a few days."

"Okay, then I'll go see him after work today."

"There's no need for you to go there." Gloria looked at her precious grandson and said, "Edmond, I will

pick you up after school today, okay? I'll take you to see Grandpa."

Edmond swallowed the buns in his mouth and nodded, "Alright, Grandma."

"Good boy."

Everly hurriedly ate something and said, "Edmond, I will send you to school later."

Edmond nodded.

When the two of them left the house, Edmond said, "Mommy, I called you at midnight last night, but I

was hung up. Uncle said you were drunk. Do you remember?"

"Did you call me?" Everly took out her phone and checked. There was no missed call but she found

Edmond's call from the record. She thought for a moment and said, "Maybe I wasn't sober so I hung

up. Get in the car."

The Farleys also had a driver. Hendrix specially got one after Edmond began to go to school.

Crane Kindergarten was originally a high-end kindergarten for nobles, so Everly did not reject the

special driver her brother hired for her.

She didn't want her son to feel too insecure amongst his peers.NôvelDrama.Org holds this content.

On the way, Everly helped Maverick sort out all his work for today. She memorized it in her heart for a

moment and said to Edmond, "Uncle Jack said that he will come over next month."

Edmond obviously didn't like that American at all.

He already didn't like Jack in the past, but now with a more handsome man around his mother, he even

hated the other man around his mother even more.

"Okay, I don't have time to play with him."

Everly couldn't help but chuckle, "You still don't like Jack? Is it because you lost to him in the ball game

before? Hey, he's here to send you something. No matter what, don't pull a long face."

"Mommy, I don't think you should get too close to that foreigner. You should get to know the handsome

uncle I'm talking about."

He started again.

Everly rolled her eyes and made a stop gesture, "Alright, the topic of men ends here. We almost arrive

at your school. How was it yesterday?"

"I'm your son," Edmond said with a proud tone. "Nothing is difficult for me."

Everly, "..."

Boy!

With a text message on her phone, Everly didn't say anything else. She checked on her phone and

found that it was from Gloria. It was a sweet text along with a photo--

"Everly, do you remember the blind date I told you about last time? It is on this Saturday at the address

below. I helped you get his latest photos. They are all very real. What do you think about him? Dress

up. Edmond was with us just now, so I can't bring it up. I'm just telling you now and will remind you

again on Saturday."

Everly, "..."

Since they had already arrived at kindergarten, Everly did not have time to reply to the text message.

With a dark face, she put away her phone, got out of the car with her son, and walked towards the

school gate.

The curriculum in kindergartens was not as tight-scheduled as in primary schools, so kindergarten kids

wouldn't have to arrive as early as primary school students.

Everly watched Edmond enter the kindergarten at the school gate and turned around.

Her head still hurt. She looked around and found there was a café not far away. Although it was still

early, the café was already open so Everly began to walk towards the café.

Before Candy got off the car, she sat on Maverick's lap, hugged her father's face, and kissed him.

"Dad, I'm getting off the car. Remember to take me to dinner tonight."

Maverick had time today, so he personally sent his daughter to school.

He reached out and rubbed his daughter's black hair with extremely soft eyes, "Okay, be a good girl

today, remember to tell me about your day."

"Yes, I am a good girl." Then she seemed to have thought of something and said, "Dad, the boy we met

yesterday is also in our class now and we have become good friends."

Maverick realized that the boy she was referring to should be Edmond.

Thinking of that child, Maverick didn't know what to say.

Someone cautious as him should have thought the one behind the boy had some other purposes,

right? Because the boy had met with him and his daughter so many times and the boy even become

classmates with his daughter.

But when he thought of that pair of eyes and the way Edmond tugged at his trouser legs and called him

uncle, he didn't want to think like that at all.

"You like him?"

"He is as handsome as Dad." Candy told the truth.

Maverick smiled and didn't say anything else. He asked the driver to bring Candy out of the car.

He watched his daughter enter the school and closed the car window a little. Just as he took out a

cigarette and prepared to light it, he saw someone familiar when he was looking around.

He didn't continue to light his cigarette and narrowed his eyes.

In the next second, another person that was familiar to Maverick suddenly appeared beside that

slender one.

Finally, he frowned.
