Chapter 53 Something's Wrong

Theo immediately tried calling, but the phone went straight to voicemail, Indicating It was turned off. His expression turned cold, eyes sharp with suspicion. He Immediately dialed Adrian's mumber.

"Mr. Gray, what's wrong?" Adrian's groggy voice answered, clearly having been woken up.

their information."

"Something's happened to Sierra. I'm heading over to check the surveillance, I need a list of her close contacts-get me th

"Understood, Mr. Gray. I'll get on right away."

Theo ended the call, got out of bed, changed quickly, and left in the dead of night.

The next moming, Siena woke up with a dull headache. She sat up in bed, still feeling groggy and disoriented.

It reminded her of the days when her insomnia had been so bad that she relied on sleeping pills. However, she hadn't taken any pills this time. Maybe it was just her first night at the Shaw residence, so she hadn't slept well. Still, she had slept unusually deeply last night.

A sense of unease crept in. She glanced at her phone, and it was already past 8:00am. She quickly got up, washed up, and walked out of her room with her phone in lund.

t when she saw the man sitting on the sofa in the living room downstairs, her body froze in shock. Benson? What was he doing at the Shaw residence? "Siema, you're awake. Come downstairs. Benson has been here for a while,” William said warmly, looking up at her with a smile.

He wore the facade of a land and loving father, the one he always put on when someone from the Gray family was around.

Sierra's eyes flickered. She pressed her lips together, trying to calm herself, and walked downstairs.

“Benson, Sierra is still young. Sometimes she acts impulsively, but she already knows she is wrong. Vera and I have talked to her about it. You know, it's normal for couples to have disagreements now and then.

"You've known each other for so many years, and you're about to discuss marriage-it would be a shame to let a small misunderstanding affect such a long- standing relationship, wouldn't it?” william's eyes gleamed with calculation as he spoke with a smile.

Benson glanced at Sierra, then nodded politely. “I also share some responsibility for what happened.”

"You're truly magnanimous, Benson. You're destined for great things. As long as the misunderstanding is cleared up, that's all that matters. We can rest easy lowing that you two will be fine together,” William said with a hearty laugh.

Sierra's expression shifted. Why did something feel off? The last time Benson had left her house, he had been furious. Now, he was sitting there so calmly. What had changed?

While Sierra pondered, Benson had already walked toward her. His steady voice broke the silence.

“I read the messages you sent me last night. I realize now that I misunderstood you. I made mistakes, and I'll make it up to you with a new proposal and a ring.” Last night? Messages? Sierra was utterly battled. What was Benson talking abour?

Before she could ask, William quickly stepped forward with a smile, patting Benson on the shoulder.

“Benson, Sierra Just woke up. Hearing your proposal has left her so overjoyed, she's at a loss for words," William said, then shot Sierra a cold, waming glare. Vera quickly approached, taking Sierra's hand gently.

She said with a sweet senile, “Sierra just woke up and hasn't had breakfast yet. Let her eat first, and you two can talk later."

“Alright,” Benson replied, nodding slightly.

Veraled Sierra to the dining table. Once seated, she squeezed Vera's hand tightly and whispered with a frown, “Mon, what's going on?"
