Chapter 376 Play It by Ear
Chapter 376 Play It by Ear
Lenny's words amused Linda. She thought that Lenny was an emotional guy.
He even mentioned Linda's late mother, Sherry. He had no idea that Haley was Linda.
"That's right, Grandfather. You can't do that to us. It is not fair, "
Said Rosy, echoing her father.
Lord Nalan glanced at them.
"Felix, what do you think of my decision?" After a while, he asked Felix who was sitting on the side,
silently drinking tea.
"All of the clan's properties belong to you, so it is up to you, " replied Felix.
It was a great answer. Linda looked at Felix, and he nodded at her. He seemed to be friendly.
Linda then smiled at him.
Felix was as malevolent as Murphy.
Linda knew it was not difficult to deal with people who wanted to attack her on her face, but it was a lot
harder to deal with the wicked ones who wore hypocritical smiles.
Felix and Murphy seemed to be friendly, but in fact, they would try every means to harm her. Linda
suddenly realised that her biggest enemies in the Nalan clan were Felix and Murphy, instead of Rosy
and Lenny.
After hearing Felix's answer, Lord Nalan nodded with satisfaction. His expression softened. He thought
what Felix said was sensible.
But Lenny's attitude was unreasonable. He retorted his father in front of so many people.
Lord Nalan wondered whether Lenny even treated him as his father and respected him or not.
Just as Lenny was about to say something else, Lord Nalan interrupted him and decisively said,
"Great. My decision is final. Don't discuss it with me."
They nearly finished the dinner. Since all of them knew Charles, Lord Nalan didn't introduce him to Content bel0ngs to Nôvel(D)r/a/ma.Org.
everyone today. He just announced his decision through tonight's dinner, and it wasn't up for
discussion. No matter how hard Lenny opposed him, Lord Nalan wouldn't change his mind because all
of the Nalan clan's properties were under his control.
If Lord Nalan wanted to give half of the clan's properties to Linda, no one would be able to change his
mind.
Once Lord Nalan made up his mind, everything was settled and would never be changed.
Linda knew that Lord Nalan announced this matter in front of everyone just to let others know how
important she was in the Nalan clan.
It was also a warning to others, so they wouldn't do anything to harm Linda.
However, Lord Nalan didn't think it through. He took advantage of his rank and tried to help Linda, but
he didn't seem to have taken the risks of his sudden decision into account.
Since Lord Nalan had announced this matter, others would surely be jealous of Linda, and those who
didn't intend to harm her before might now secretly take actions to get her out of their ways.
Linda was upset at the thought of this.
"What a coincidence. I also gave her half of the Mu's Group's assets as a wedding gift, " said Charles,
while putting his arm around Linda's shoulders.
Just now, Lord Nalan's decision astonished everyone, but Charles's statement shocked them all.
'The Mu's Group is a large company. Does half of the company's assets really belong to Haley?
Does Young Master Mu really love Haley?'
Rosy couldn't tolerate this. She looked at Charles and said, "Young Master Mu, I have seen the news
about your engagement with the Lady of the Xia clan before. I learned from the news that you were
going to give her half of your clan's property as a wedding gift. Are you going to do the same thing with
Haley?"
"Oh. Did you really see that news?" Charles turned his head to Rosy, without any expression on his
handsome face.
"I saw it, of course. You said that in the news. Do you want to deny it?"
Rosy pretended to say those words in disgust, but she would not admit that she really wanted a
relationship with Charles, and she also paid much attention to him.
"Haven't you seen what the Lady of the Xia clan looked like?" Charles slightly smiled.
"I don't know what she looks like. I just saw the news report. After all, her looks have nothing to do with
me." Charles's smile faded away.
He looked at Rosy with an unfriendly expression in his eyes.
Rosy was shocked by his cold stare. She didn't dare look him in the eyes. The expression in Charles's
eyes was frightening.
Rosy felt stressed just by looking him in the eyes.
"That's ridiculous, " said Charles flatly.
He then shook his head and ignored Rosy.
"Grandfather, I'm getting tired. I want to go back now."
Linda suddenly didn't want to sit there along with those people. She felt tired and unhappy with all of
them around.
Although they were Nalan clan members, they secretly competed with each other all the time. They
hated each other and wanted each other to die.
They all had their own evil ideas in their minds.
"Okay. You have to take care of yourself and the baby in your womb."
Lord Nalan nodded and agreed to let Linda leave.
Charles also left with Linda. He agreed to join the Nalan clan's dinner just because Linda was a
member of the Nalan clan. Lord Nalan dearly loved Linda and did a lot for her.
He was a great grandfather.
Otherwise, Charles would not have respected him nor would he have accepted his invitation.
On the way to her place, Linda was frowning.
"What's wrong? Honey? Why are you sad? Are you feeling uncomfortable?" said Charles with concern.
Linda sighed and shook her head. "Nothing. I just have something in mind, " she said.
"What is it?"
"Today, my grandfather told everyone that he will give half of his properties to me. I don't think I can live
peacefully in the Nalan clan's house from now on."
After he heard her, Charles nodded. "You're right. Your grandfather shouldn't have announced this sort
of thing in this way. But if he hid his decision from the others, it might cause more trouble in the future. I
believe that he said it tonight with reason and purpose."
Lord Nalan was very kind to Linda. Half of the Nalan clan's properties was worth a lot of money. He
was eager to give it to Linda as his wedding gift to her.
Others were jealous of her, of course.
"From now on, we have to play it by ear. We are going to get married two days later. I don't want
anything bad to happen in the next two days."
Linda also thought that staying in the Nalan clan's house was dangerous for her and someone would
get a chance to harm her as long as she lived there.
