“All right, enough with the jesting. There’s something of grave importance that I must disclose to you…” Tony’s voice carried a hushed tone as his eyes met Thalia’s.
Thalia turned around, her expression smug. “I have no interest in hearing it.” Tony persisted, “But it is truly vital.”
Thalia glanced at him from the corner of her eye. “I am not in the mood to hear anything at the moment!”
Tony paused for a moment, deep in thought before a smile formed on his lips. “Thalia, amongst all the beautiful women I have come across, you possess a certain magnanimity. You are someone who can see the bigger picture, someone who I believe would not hold a grudge against me, correct?”
Thalia arched her eyebrows and scowled at him. “Between me and Nelly, who is fairer? Who possesses greater magnanimity? Who sees the bigger picture?”
Tony was left speechless. “Is such a comparison truly necessary?” Thalia replied, “Without a doubt!”
“You wish to hear the truth?”
The words caught in Thalia’s throat upon hearing the question.
From Tony’s response, she knew what his answer would be. He would not force himself to say kind words solely to pacify me. After all, Nelly means everything to him.
Thalia narrowed her eyes and responded with a faint grin. “Forget it. You need not say anything further.”
“You are not angry with me anymore, correct?” Tony inquired. Thalia took a deep breath. “Who says I am not?”
“You are the second most beautiful woman I have ever laid eyes upon! I swear it!” “Truly?” Thalia asked.
Tony nodded repeatedly. “Yes!”
“You mean what you say?”
“Of course! That is exactly what I think! You hold the second position!” Thalia was pleased to hear this. “Very well. Now, what did you want to tell me?”
Tony glanced around cautiously and whispered, “Stay here for the night. I will reveal everything to you this evening when the opportunity arises.”
Thalia sensed something amiss from his suspicious demeanor. She nodded and said, “All right.”Copyright Nôv/el/Dra/ma.Org.
Meanwhile, the guests at the banquet continued to revel, many indulging in a few drinks.
As Alpha king Larry prepared to take another sip of his wine, Alpha Kilian intervened. “You have consumed enough tonight, Grandpa.”
Alpha king Larry furrowed his brows upon hearing this. “What do you mean I have consumed enough? I have had only two glasses of wine!”
Alpha king Larry persisted in taking another sip, but Alpha Kilian covered the wineglass with his hand. “You have reached your limit, Grandpa. The doctor specifically advised you against drinking.”
“Hey–” Nelly stepped in to diffuse the tension. “You must prioritize your health, Old Alpha Morris.” Alpha king Larry acquiesced, “Very well. I will heed your words, Nelly!”
Nelly then turned to Alpha Wade and stated, “You should also refrain from excessive drinking, Grandpa.” “My health is fine. I will be all right.”
Nelly glared at him without uttering a word.
Alpha Wade had no choice but to give in. “All right! All right! I shall not drink too much!” He then set down his wineglass.
After a momentary pause, Alpha Wade looked at Alpha king Larry. “Isn’t it time to take your medicine?”
“Oh?” Alpha king Larry looked over and locked eyes with him. He nodded in agreement. “Ah, yes. I should take my medicine now!” “Let us go! I will accompany you!”
“Wow. It is quite rare to witness Gramps and Great-grandpa getting along so well, isn’t it?” Ben couldn’t help but remark.
“But don’t you think their performance feels somewhat forced?” Donna chimed in.
Tony replied, “It does not matter. What truly matters is that we get to leave now!”
Ben, Donna, and Tony all turned their attention towards Nelly and Alpha Kilian, as if they were awaiting their orders.
Alpha Kilian looked at them and grinned. “Very well. It is getting late. Let us return home and rest!” Upon hearing this, everyone began to depart.
“Thalia, let us take a stroll!” Donna suggested.
After glancing at Nelly, Thalia nodded. “Sure!” The triplets then led Thalia away.
The corners of Nelly’s lips curled upwards as she watched them depart. Now, only two individuals remained at the dining table.
Alpha Kilian locked eyes with Nelly. “How do you feel? Are you tired?” Nelly nodded. “Indeed, slightly.”
“Shall we then? Allow me to accompany you back to your room, and you should rest.” Alpha Kilian stood up and picked up his coat.
Nelly observed him for a moment before making a decision. She smiled and entered the room. “I shall take a shower now!” Without hesitation, she shut the door behind her.
Alpha Kilian stood outside, staring blankly at the door.
The corners of his lips curled upwards. He raised his wrist to check his watch. There is still time.
