Chapter 129
Chapter 129
12:47
The next day, Gwendolyn was in high spirits as she went to work at the hospital. The bubbly nurse Sandra nudged her with her elbow and teased, “Was that huge red neon sign over at Summit Corp last night for you?”
Her eyebrows arched playfully, her smile brimming with mischief.
With a twinkle in her eye and a blush on her cheeks, Gwendolyn denied, “No way, that was for the grand opening of the Summit Corp building.”
Sandra was tinged with envy as she replied, “You’re smiling. You must be lying.”
“Believe what you want,” Gwendolyn said, her attempt at deflection all too obvious.
Sandra clung to her arm, cooing like a kitten, “Come on, spill the beans. What did you guys get up to last night?”
Gwendolyn bit her lip, her cheeks flushing even more.
Last night was wild with unhinged passion in front of the floor–to–ceiling windows.
She never thought a simple kiss could send one’s soul into such a frenzy, yearning for
oneness.
It was only when Mr. Chadwick hoarsely called a halt that they didn’t completely lose themselves to the madness.
At the sight of Gwendolyn’s flushed face, Sandra knew it must have been thrilling. She was about to probe further when they were interrupted by a commotion at the hospital
entrance.
“Where’s Dr. Quigley? Gwendolyn Quigley, get out here! Quack doctor! Honey, wake up, please!”
Gwendolyn and Sandra hurried over to find Bill on a stretcher, pale and retching, with his wife’s cries piercing the air. Journalists and curious patients surrounded them, disrupting the hospital’s order.
“Dr. Quigley!” Bill’s wife, spotting Gwendolyn, grabbed her hand, desperate not to let her

The reporters‘ cameras zoomed in on Gwendolyn.
“Dr. Quigley, you said my husband just had a simple case of gastritis, you did acupuncture and prescribed something. Now look at him! He said the acupuncture was uncomfortable, and now he’s vomiting blood!” Bill’s wife was creating a scene.
Gwendolyn furrowed her brow, her expression grave, “If he followed my instructions, this shouldn’t be happening.”

Bill’s wife pulled out the prescription, “Take a good look, everyone!”
The cameras focused on the paper, “This prescription isn’t signed. That’s against the rules.
“No, you see, yesterday…”
Gwendolyn tried to explain, but their voices drowned hers out. No one was listening.
“I can take another look at Bill, let me examine him.” Gwendolyn was more concerned about what was wrong with him than their insults. She trusted her medical skills, but the human body was a mystery. Had they missed another ailment?
Bill’s wife shoved Gwendolyn away, shouting, “Are you just an intern? You treated Bill alone, and now you’re going to harm him again?”
“An intern? So young, just graduated, right? Does she even know all the medicine?” C0pyright © 2024 Nôv)(elDrama.Org.
“How can Bayridge Hospital let an intern see patients alone? That’s playing with lives!”
“She doesn’t even have a medical license!”
The murmurs.grew louder.
Gwendolyn pressed her lips tightly together as Sandra ran to call security.
When security arrived and dispersed the crowd, the uproar finally subsided.
Bill’s wife stubbornly refused to let Bayridge Hospital take him in, insisting she only trusted another hospital.
Only after the hospital assured her of a fair investigation did she agree to wait at a nearby hotel for the results.
The delicate relationship between doctors and patients was always a hot topic, and now the rumors of an intern’s misdiagnosis at Bayridge Hospital were spreading like wildfire online.
Somehow, the surveillance footage of the traditional medicine room had been leaked, showing Gwendolyn alone with the patient, the supervising doctor nowhere in sight.
The impact was devastating./
In the office of the hospital director.
Sanford looked at Gwendolyn coldly, his voice stern, “Something as basic as prescriptions needing a doctor’s signature, don’t you know that?”
