Chapter 1519 How Can I Leave This Place?

Lilly hadn't anticipated such a smooth turn of events. She found Polly and confirmed the loophole she

had been speculating.

"Who are you?" Lilly held onto Polly, staring at it intently.

Polly tilted its head innocently. "I'm Polly. What are you talking about, babe? I'm so sad. You don't

recognize me anymore."

Lilly burst into laughter.

"Hehe. The real Polly doesn't talk like this." Lilly's eyes remained unwavering, her gaze turning razor-

sharp. "Why did you bring me here? Who are you? What do you want?"

However, at that very moment, the car abruptly screeched to a halt.

Due to the inertia, Lilly was thrown forward harshly. A piercing hum buzzed in her ears, and she passed

out.

"Lilly! Wake up, Lilly…"

Who was that?

Who had been calling her all this time?

Yet, she couldn't remember those voices.

Lilly opened her eyes in confusion, staring blankly at the white hospital room.

It felt as though she had once again descended into a dream, unable to discern how many times she

had fainted and woken up.

The door to the ward was pushed open, and a tall man in black walked in, placing a packaged food on All text © NôvelD(r)a'ma.Org.

the table.

"Are you okay?" He sighed. "I'm sorry. It's my fault you're in this situation."

"What?" Lilly stared at him in bewilderment.

The man in black explained, "There was a car accident, and you…" He pressed his lips together,

uttering, "You passed out, and your friend, Polly, is dead."

Lilly was stunned, but suddenly, she started laughing.

She saw the man's puzzled expression, as if he thought something was wrong with her. He even

reached out and gently touched her forehead.

He asked worriedly, "Are you okay?"

Lilly continued to chuckle, tears gradually glistening in her eyes. "Dad, I've been trying so hard to

change. When will you recognize me? Dad, I've been through so much alone, and I miss you all so

much."

The man in black looked confused. However, he couldn't bear to see her cry, so he eventually gave in

and ruffled her hair. "Don't cry."

With a sigh, he seemed to be contemplating something.

A few days later, Lilly was discharged from the hospital.

She resisted as she was about to be sent back to the orphanage, declaring, "I don't want to go to the

orphanage!"

For inexplicable reasons, the orphanage's iron gate seemed like a barrier keeping her perpetually

imprisoned. She refused to return.

The man in black frowned. "You're still too young. No one will take care of you if you don't go."

The undeterred Lilly asserted, "I can take care of myself. Dad, take me to the bridge tunnel."

She could live under the bridge as long as there was a place to curl up and sleep.

"I won't starve to death. I'll find food on the streets. If no one gives me food, I'll work hard for them. I

won't go hungry, and I don't need anyone to look after me."

The man in black wore a helpless expression. "Nonsense!"

However, when confronted with Lilly's resolute demeanor, he relented, "As a police officer, I can't

possibly take you to a bridge tunnel."

Then, he chuckled involuntarily. "Just go back to the orphanage."

Lilly stared at him while thinking in her mind. Polly might have been exposed quickly, but Dad seems

genuine.

If she hadn't been adopted into the Crawford family and hadn't met Dad beforehand, his words and

actions would align with her memories and understanding of him.

Could it be because Dad is Emperor Prosper, so the "director" behind the scenes didn't dare to

manipulate him?

Lilly voiced her thoughts, "Dad, haven't you noticed? The orphanage is not normal." Regardless of his

bewildered gaze, she continued her analysis. "I'm over four years old and attending kindergarten now.

The Crawford family's youngest son is much older and should be in elementary school now. Yet, how

can kindergarten and elementary school be connected? Even if they are joined, the Crawford family is

loaded, so how could I possibly attend the same school as them?"

This was the biggest logical problem.

Did those characters show up to force her to face reality? Or was it to present her with the sight of her

most cherished family, only to turn into strangers, pushing her to the brink of collapse?

To Lilly's surprise, the man in black lightly tapped her forehead and uttered in disbelief, "At such a

young age, your paranoia is already so severe."

He casually slipped one hand in his pocket while the other remained gently clasped around her hand.

As they continued to walk forward, he remarked, "Isn't the Crawford family you mentioned the one in

Clodston? How could they possibly be in South City?"

At that instant, Lilly came to an abrupt halt, causing the man in black to stumble slightly.

She stood still, frozen in disbelief. How could it be?

"Dad! Something's wrong!" Lilly's eyes widened. "That day at the kindergarten gate, I really saw the

Crawford family. I saw my stepmother. She was holding Josh! I even saw Grandma. I mean, Old Mrs.

Crawford."

The man in black looked utterly confused once again, touching her forehead. "Are you delirious? I

heard about the kindergarten incident. Indeed, you saw your stepmother at the kindergarten gate that

day, but the child she was holding was from the wealthy York family of South City. How could your

stepmother marry into the Crawford family? You must be mistaken." He scoffed, seemingly thinking that

the sight of her stepmom was too overwhelming for her and had caused her to hallucinate.

Lilly felt a chill run through her body, like a cold breeze in her head.

A couple of days later, she returned to the kindergarten gate. Sure enough, she saw her stepmother

still pregnant, but the child she was holding was no longer Josh.

Lilly was sure she had remembered correctly. On that day, she had indeed seen Josh and Grandma.

Yet now, Polly died in a car accident, and her stepmother was married to the York family, not the

Crawford family.

If this world truly adhered to a script, it seemed the glitches in that script had been rectified.

The logic of this world was getting tighter, with fewer and fewer loopholes.

How could she escape from this?
