Chapter 1526 Waiting
Chapter 1526 Waiting
"The sky is getting darker!" Elder entered as he carried a bowl containing something Ivan didn't really
bother to look at.
Instead, he was holding Lilly's hand as he cast a cursory glance outside.
A month had passed since that awful incident. Nevertheless, it was still fresh in their minds as it
seemed as if the sky in the Nether was being weighed down by something… It was as if it wanted to
crush this world like a gnat.
Lilly had been unconscious for a month. Besides, she had been screaming in pain just a few moments
ago.
A month in the Nether was equivalent to about three months in the underworld and two years in the
Human Realm.
Why haven't Blake and the others arrived yet?
…
Human Realm.
Bettany adjusted the shawl on her body as she gazed at the sky.
The snow fell early this year. The gray tones coloring the sky only made it seem much more
oppressive.
Lilly hadn't been home for Christmas for two years.
Bettany remembered what she had said the last time she left as though it was yesterday, 'Grandma,
take care of yourself. I'll definitely be back for Christmas! So, you have to wait for me!'
Bettany whispered, "Lilly, Grandma will definitely wait for you to come home."
It didn't matter where or how far her dear granddaughter traveled. She was certain Lilly would surely
return.
If she couldn't make it back in two years, she would surely be home in a decade.
If a decade wasn't enough, she would surely rush home in a hundred years.
Bettany didn't care if she had to wait until her soul decided to leave her physical body. She vowed that
her spirit would still be here, waiting for Lilly to come home.
…
"Still no luck finding it?" Jean had gone past worried and was moving on to panic!
Radley had left the Nether begging for their aid.
Fortunately, the Earth Goddess had just emerged from seclusion and happened to find them. She and
Blake immediately decided to follow Radley to the Nether.
Alas, the 'black hole' at the bottom of the evil eye pond had disappeared!
In other words, their shortcut to the Nether was severed.
Blake and the Earth Goddess searched high and low. Alas, they couldn't find even a single crack to
suggest that there was a pathway to the Nether. So, they had no choice but to travel to the Nether
Door.
However, only Emperor Greenbow could open the Nether Door. Even if Blake and the Earth Goddess
were right in front of the entrance and pushing with everything they had, there was no way they could
make the door budge an inch.
In the end, Blake left the Earth Goddess in the underworld to continue searching for another path to the
Nether. Meanwhile, he went to the Human Realm to pick up the recently three-year-old Matthan.
Matthan was completely bewildered. Even though he was born with the innate ability, he hadn't
reached his maturity. Therefore, it hadn't awakened just yet.
In the end, they spend months in their fruitless endeavor. It didn't matter how worried or upset they
were as they still couldn't find a way to the Nether.
"We can only open the Nether Door by force," Blake said solemnly. "There won't be another path to the
Nether after that passageway is closed!"
The Earth Goddess was irritated. "I'll bring King Earthid over!"
As soon as she said that, she disappeared.
In the small mountain village, an old man had raised his head to look at the dark sky.
Most people had assumed that this was merely some abnormal weather that would eventually pass.
For example, there was a desert that had been in drought for hundreds of years before it suddenly
experienced a flood. In fact, there was also a place that had started snowing during the summer.
Even though the sky was gloomy as layers upon layers of clouds had shielded the sun from view, the
setting sun would suddenly appear during the evening, dyeing half of the sky bright scarlet.
Although it was strange, it was also a spectacular view. So, everyone would end up getting distracted
by taking a bunch of pictures. Over time, they would write it off as some sort of odd weather as it didn't
inconvenience their day-to-day lives.
"Has it finally begun?" the old man murmured.
An irritated voice sounded, "Why are you still here with your philosophical nonsense?!"
Earth Goddess didn't hesitate to punch the old man's head.
The old man's figure simply tilted aside, dodging the punch without even moving from his position.
"Aren't you coming?" Earth Goddess scolded sternly. "Lilly is in the Nether. She's been sealed!"
She also promptly informed the old man about Lisa's Test of Thunder and Lilly's sudden coma.
The old man sighed as he answered, "This has been written in the stars. Everything is already
predetermined. If she is capable, she can naturally break through this barrier. If she can't, it doesn't
matter how many people are there. No one can help her with this."
All of this had already happened once before.
"Shut your f*cking mouth." The Earth Goddess was very vexed. This wasn't like her. She was always
dignified, elegant, and noble. There wasn't a single time that a curse would pass her lips.
Yet, it seemed that she was discovering a new side of herself today. Not only did she want to curse, but
she also wanted to sock this person right in the eye before tossing him into the sewers.
The old man finally looked at her and said wearily, "I have already failed. What can I do if I go?"
He couldn't even break through his own barrier, let alone break through the Manifestation of God's will.
The Earth Goddess spent a lot of time persuading him. Frankly, she had no idea how much time had
passed. Nonetheless, she did know that toward the end of her tirade, her mouth was dry.
She drank pot after pot of tea on the table. Alas, the old man still seemed completely unmoved.
Finally, the Earth Goddess had had enough as she sneered, "If that's the case, just stay here and rot!
Aren't you all about this life and the next? What are you doing with your current life then? You can't
even figure that out. So, what's the point of thinking about your next life?! You might as well remain
trapped here forever." This text is © NôvelDrama/.Org.
The Earth Goddess flounced off angrily.
The old man watched her leave, remaining silent for a long time.
…
Lilly could feel herself faltering.
She broke through one layer of darkness, only to be met with yet another layer of darkness!
She felt as though she was in the heart of an onion of darkness!
They say there are nine heavens beyond the sky. However, she had been keeping count. So, she was
well aware she had broken through more than nine heavens. Honestly, it was more than a dozen times
of nine heavens.
Her purple sphere could no longer rotate after pulverizing one layer after another. To make matters
worse, her hand, which was holding the Dragon Fang, was trembling.
"You said you were stronger than me, didn't you?" An ethereal and distant voice came from the void.
Its voice had become much calmer than before!
Lilly knew very well that the longer she dragged on, the less hope she had in breaking free from this
never-ending darkness. She couldn't sense even a trace of spiritual aura in this endless darkness. As a
result, the vigorously rotating purple sphere didn't have the ability to replenish her spiritual force.
Plus, the Manifestation of God's will had sealed away half of her purple sphere.
Lilly steadied her heart.
Stay calm, Lilly. Think!
As long as I keep going, I will be able to find a way to overcome this despair!
Lilly calmed her heart, staying composed.
She rummaged through her ring, 'devouring' all the remaining purple grass and refining it into spiritual
force!
The immortality stone in the ring, the blood-red "paint" that could be used to cultivate spiritual
consciousness... She even used the Neon gemstone and Azurite gemstone in her possession!
Everything turned into strands of glowing blue as they all converged into Lilly's purple sphere.
She was waiting… waiting for Ivan!
