the emperor. Therefore, White Crow and Black Crow exchanged a cold glance, each seeing the other's
guardedness in their eyes. The two brothers' gaze fell upon Stanley standing by the window, looking
out at the research institute.
"Stanley," White Crow asked, "what are you thinking about?"
"I'm thinking about that man," Stanley replied softly. "He wants to use their promise for something in
return..."

Black Crow thought this instinctively but looking at Stanley's reaction made him feel unsure.
White Crow furrowed his brow and remained silent.
Osvaldo's sudden request was a threat to Stanley. White Crow even had a feeling that Stanley was
more wary and concerned about Osvaldo than he was about Lillian.
Why was he so certain that Lillian would lose against Selena?!
White Crow wanted to ask but knowing Stanley's personality, he knew better than anyone else not to
pry too much into his thoughts.
He looked at the handsome and gentle young man in front of him, feeling more and more that the other

Diana breathed a sigh of relief upon hearing these words from Selena.
Looking at Selena's eyes revealed a hint of cruelty as long as she could get hold of Sacred Pearl-
people in Central City also relaxed their breaths.
Mr. Mccoy stood up and asked Turner if he could return Sacred Pearl back to Central City.
Selena stared at Lindsay and asked one last time,"Miss Hall, are you really determined on getting hold
of 'Sacred Pearl'?"
Lindsay showed no expression on her face as she nodded firmly,"I am determined."
Selena smiled and turned to Oscar. "Since Miss Hall insists, then Uncle, please bring out the Sacred
Pearl." The crowd was shaken by Selena's words.
Oscar looked deeply at Selena before turning to give orders to the people behind him. The Sacred
Pearl had been kept in a research institute since it was lost in Beijing, under Oscar's personal
supervision.
Robert had thought about stealing the Sacred Pearl without anyone noticing, but he knew that the
chances of success were zero. They had already sacrificed many lives just to get this one chance of
taking it out of Queen Elizabeth's palace - and that was when Selena wasn't around.
The research institute where Selena personally guarded made it impossible for them to even think
about getting their hands on the Sacred Pearl. Killing Selena would be their only chance.
Robert looked at Selena with a hint of fear in his eyes while she chatted with Osvaldo as if nothing was
happening. She seemed like someone who had been blinded by beauty.
Everyone held their breath as several uniformed members from the tribunal walked in holding the
Sacred Pearl. All eyes were fixed on this small white bone figurine, and even breathing became difficult
for some.
The mechanics present, including those from Central City, almost left their seats as they stared
unblinkingly at this tiny "doll"!
"This... this is the 'Sacred Pearl'?!" exclaimed a group of mechanics in disbelief as they gazed upon the
small, yet powerful object.
Osvaldo also looked up and fixed his gaze on the bone puppet. He had allowed Diana to take it away
with her before, leaving it at the research institute to keep Selena close by his side. However, Selena
believed that Osvaldo had possession of the "Sacred Pearl" all along.
His young wife had given him the object as a gift and he hadn't bothered to correct her assumption.
With Osvaldo's negligence and Selena's misunderstanding, Diana was able to steal credit for Selena's
work and become her savior.
The "Sacred Pearl" remained locked away at the research institute until now. As Osvaldo stared at it,
he couldn't help but feel a sense of anger rise within him when he noticed how similar its face was to
that of young Selena's.
It had been a long time since she last saw it herself. She felt conflicted about creating such a
successful weapon - one that was too powerful for any mechanic to handle.
The "Sacred Pearl" was undoubtedly an achievement in mechanical engineering but its power
bordered on godly proportions - something no mere mortal should possess.
But for an emperor, it would indulge people's desires without limit and inflate their ambitions... which is
not entirely a good thing.
Imagine if someone with a cruel heart like Diana were to control the method of opening the "Sacred
Pearl," what consequences would it bring?
