Chapter 791
The clear scent of jasmine flowers indicated that these were fresh flowers! At a glance, there were nine of them that were half-bloomed! These flowers were sent by Danica!
Upon looking at the box on the table, Frederick's mind was suddenly filled with all kinds of images.
He was sipping on his tea when a few jasmine flowers suddenly dropped into his cup. The white jasmine flowers were blooming beautifully. She leaned behind him with her arms around his neck. She then laughed softly beside him.
"Jasmine flowers?" He thought to himself. As he sniffed them, his frustrating mind seemed to have calmed down as well.
"Yes, you like drinking tea and I like Jasmine! In the future, whether you have something happy to share, or have something troubling you, I'll stay by your side for the rest of my life! When we're old, you'll brew your tea while I plant my jasmine flowers in the garden,"
Whenever he was upset and tired, he liked to drink strong tea to make himself feel refreshed. He felt like tea was something he could drink for a lifetime. However, at some unknown point, his everyday essential to help with sobering up had become coffee instead.
He recalled that it was on a weekend not long before he went for a long business trip and had to be apart from her. He didn't know whether something had triggered her, or if she had heard something weird, but she had suddenly gotten very sad and uttered a lot of strange things to him.
"Frederick, will we be separated? Will you change your mind if we're separated? Will you still be good to me? Will you wait for me and miss me?" Danica asked continuously.
"No! I'll go and search for you! We're going to be together for the rest of our lives!" Frederick assured her.
"Frederick, if we have to be apart one day for whatever reasons, remember what you said today! Let's make a promise - a jasmine flower promise! Whatever happens in life, regardless of how far apart we are, or how much we quarrel or even break up, whether we still love each other or not, if one party sends out a bouquet of jasmine flowers, it signifies the promise of a lifetime. And so, within three days of receiving the jasmine flowers, the recipient must meet the other party for the last time! Let's meet in room number nine of Gregon North Hills Hotel where it overlooks the entire city. How about that? The nine jasmine flowers symbolizes eternity, and also the last time we'll ever meet," Danica explained, wide-eyed. "You're talking nonsense again! You're the person I care about the most! This will never happen!" Frederick said.
"It doesn't matter! Frederick, promise me! You must remember this promise!" Danica said.
"Fine! You're just like a child!" Frederick shook his head defeatedly.
"You're the best!" Danica exclaimed.
"Frederick, meeting you was the happiest moment of my life! You have to work hard and make me happy! You'll succeed, and we will be happy too!" "If you receive my jasmine flowers one day, it means that I'll be dying soon. So, you must come see me! I'll be waiting for you!" Danica continued. "Don't talk nonsense! That day will never come! I don't like this gift..." Frederick muttered.
Frederick glanced at the jasmine flowers on the table. As he recalled everything that happened in the past, his eyesight blurred. He held his forehead, gaze falling on the ring on his ring finger. Everything still felt like yesterday. However, nothing was the same.
A bouquet of jasmine flowers?
Why did she suddenly send him these? Did something happen to her? What was she up to?
He still remembered the sweet smile on her face. At that moment, Frederick found it difficult to accept what was laid out in front of him.
It was as if he just blinked and everything had changed! He had never thought that there would be a day when they couldn't even be friends!
After a moment of silence, he closed the box. Whatever it was, he must let it go. He must let everything go. Whether they were good or bad things, they had nothing to do with him anymore! He already had someone and something he needed to protect!
On the other hand, Victoria sat there, belly full, as her mind began to work again. "I'm stuffed! Honey, the milk tea here is so delicious!"
As she slurped the last bit of it, Victoria's eyes sparkled with satisfaction. If it wasn't fattening, she would like to have a glass of milk tea every single day!Property © of NôvelDrama.Org.
Trevor also smiled as he saw her wipe the corner of her mouth. "If you like it, then have some more!" She had finally begun to be talkative. Things were so much better when she was noisy!
"Honey, did you have a good meal?" Victoria asked.
"Yes," Trevor answered.
"Will you still be busy this afternoon?" Victoria asked again.
"Yes..."
"If you're so busy, I'll go home first! Where do you even want to take me to?"
"Why don't we go some other day?" Victoria suggested.
They got up, went out together and continued talking all the way. It was a waste of time and a huge bore waiting in his office. She still had a lot of things that had yet to be done! If she had known earlier, she would've brought a design manual to study!
She wondered where he would be taking her. However, he was still as busy as a bee. She didn't want to make him hurry or cause him any trouble! Victoria walked around him while her gaze was fixed on him. She frowned in confusion. Couldn't he say anything else than the word "yes"? "Honey!" Victoria said.
Victoria walked to the front of him with a straight face. As she was
about to say something, she heard a bang from under her foot. She looked down and realized that she had stepped on a bottle cap. She also noticed that something was missing on the bowknot of one of her shoes.
"Huh? Where's the cat's eye stone?" She murmured.
The black shoes were inconspicuous. However, there was a black cat's eye stone on the black bowknot of each shoe! One of them was missing.
At that moment, Victoria's obsessive-compulsive disorder attacked. She lowered her head and couldn't shake the feeling that it looked odd! "What's wrong?" Trevor asked.
"One of the stones on my shoes dropped! It was there just now. It might've fallen off when I knocked it against the chair before we left the private room where we were eating. I'll go to look for it," Victoria hurriedly said.
That pair of shoes had only been
worn a couple of times and they were practically brand new. However, due to her obsessive- compulsive disorder, even if a small, inconspicuous decorative item was lost, her mood would be affected and she couldn't resist obsessing over it. If she couldn't find it, she would never wear them again. The shoes would be useless in the future!
"Wait!" Trevor said.
He held her wrist immediately. "Don't move, I'll go!"
Upon watching him leave, she remembered that she was still standing in the middle of the road. She looked around and saw the strange looks from the people in the restaurant. She tried to ignore them as she waited outside the restaurant for Trevor.
When she was turning around, she bumped into something, or perhaps something had bumped into her. Victoria was still in a daze as she staggered about. The next second, a sharp woman's voice was heard.
"Ah..." The woman sounded.
A clear sound of puff soon followed. At that moment, Victoria saw a pool of spilled coffee milk tea and a pair of delicate, white high heels that had brown stains on them!
