Chapter 802
Shaking her head, Victoria felt that she was being too tense, causing her to have hallucinations. "It's fine, let's go!"
Trevor shared the same sentiment, so he nodded and said, "Relax a little, yeah?"
She was just a guest at his company. How would anyone keep an eye on her? In Trevor's opinion, it just didn't make any sense.
Thus, they entered the elevator, talking and laughing away; neither of them taking it seriously.
After getting her answer, Victoria no longer had to wait anxiously that afternoon. Instead, she felt relaxed. When she thought of his good intentions, she couldn't help but smile from ear to ear.
Fiddling with the pencil in her hand, she stayed in the room that countless people had dreamed of. Even though the room was empty at the time, and she was alone, she was on cloud nine; she even felt like dancing.
She suddenly got a few ideas, so she quickly wrote down her inspiration in the notebook she carried with her. Once she was done, she leaned back in satisfaction - finding her environment extremely soothing.
When she finally finished her design project, Victoria got up and stretched her body. She even went to make herself a cup of coffee.Belongs to (N)ôvel/Drama.Org.
With the cup in hand, she brought it to her mouth and tasted the coffee as she walked around the room. His office was spacious and neat, everything was very clean. She liked this very much!
It could be seen that he was very busy. He never stayed in the office long, and was always either attending a meeting internally or meeting with clients. Occasionally, when he had free time, he would go patrolling along the halls. Besides the secretary and Holger, she was the only other person who could go in and out of his office freely. She was moved by the amount of trust he had in her.
When she returned to her seat, some of her feelings still lingered in her eyes.
Based on how they met, anyone else would have been on their guard constantly! If it was not for the fact that they knew each other, and because of the relationship between the two families, she might still want him to die a terrible death at this very moment!
After all, plans couldn't ever keep up with the changes. The future was unpredictable!
"Actually, things aren't too bad right now."
Victoria muttered and suddenly thought of the misunderstanding that hadn't been explained to him yet. She could hardly keep her giggles to herself as she thought of him.
"You must be feeling pretty bad these past few days! Think of it as a little punishment since you treated me like that before! I'll give you a little surprise tonight!"
She glanced at the time and saw that it was just three in the afternoon. She didn't know when his meeting would end, but one thing was for sure -she would certainly not stay here all day even if she had nothing to do. Victoria got up to wash the cup, giving her body a good stretch.
"I can't come for nothing! Let's go shopping!" She said to herself.
After informing the secretary on duty in the office of where she was headed, Victoria then went out.
After finishing his work, Trevor came back only to find the office empty. Just as he picked up the phone, the secretary came in with a pile of documents.
"Mr. Trevor, Madam said that it was a bit stuffy in the office, so she wanted to walk around the company. She will come back soon, so you don't have to worry! Here is the report of today's meeting!" She informed him of Victoria's whereabouts.
"Okay, got it!" Trevor answered.
Trevor shook his head in relief. He felt a little too on edge and was almost scared out of his wits when he didn't see Victoria in his office.
Just as he sat down, he saw Holger wanting to come into his office.
"Come in! No one's here!" Trevor beckoned.
Holger trotted in and then locked the door behind him. Trevor got up to pour them two glasses of water.
When he saw how secretive Holger was acting, he asked with a frown, "What is it? Is it something to do with Victoria?"
Holger nodded before lowering his voice.
He looked at Trevor as he said, "Hanson couldn't hold it any longer, so he had confessed! He said a man named Daniel Duff was the one who arranged everything for him. They got to know each other at the hospital. Both of them were impotent and were dealing with abandonment issues, so they bonded and got close quickly. When they first met, they pooled some money together and went to the nightclub to have fun. They spent the night with the most beautiful woman, but perhaps because they couldn't do it, they did the deed in other perverse ways! Since then, they became good friends, but after that night at the nightclub, Hanson developed this habit whereby whenever he had money or was in a bad mood, he would go to the nightclub to find a woman to vent his anger. He would lie to them and threaten them, and things would work out for him every time! Thus, he would show off to that man named Daniel from time to time. After a few drinks, he would tell it to anyone. There were two times when he didn't bring money, and even took pictures of the women, so he got infamous for that!"
After taking a breath, Holger continued.
"Hanson said that Daniel had once suggested to him to give out leaflets and offer frustrated men a chance to teach their women a lesson. They could have fun and even earn some money at it! This was the first time that he was asked by someone to do such a thing! Hence, he believed that it might be due to the news that Daniel had spread. I have also investigated this Daniel guy. His leg is disabled due to a car accident, he sells fruits at a stall and is all alone! I checked the people who have contact with him, and they are all residents of nearby neighborhoods - there is nothing unusual about them! I asked the town management to scare him, and he confessed that he did post that on the forum, but it was a long time ago. He had no idea who would see it and take it seriously! He had posted again these couple of days to trick Hanson, and even planned to get someone to call and fool him! I checked the posts and found that the click rate was not high -there were only a few thousand clicks. Basically, the post didn't have much following! Those who responded to it were people who were bored and commented that they were willing to try a hand at this! So, it's hard to judge whether they had anything to do with this incident. Moreover, based on the current situation now, there's just no way we can track anyone."
Trevor was so shocked that he was in daze for a long time. He said, "You mean... he can't do it?"
This meant that Victoria hadn't been... then why did she jump from the building?
His mind was buzzed as he suddenly thought of the image of her lying on the ground. The traumatizing sight sent waves of shock through his body once more. It was a shocking sight. As he thought about the scene again, he realized that her torn clothes had been completely intact. A surge of emotions had already engulfed his rationality. He knew that he had to focus on the main point, but his mind couldn't help but drift towards the few particular words Holger had mentioned.
"It's a physical dysfunction. He's got
both physiological and psychological problems! Otherwise, how could he become so abnormal? There is indeed something wrong with this matter! Even so, I still think
that it is a woman behind this! Other than a psychologically disturbed and problematic woman, I really can't think of anyone who would use such an immature and nasty method on another woman! If this person doesn't have a grudge against Victoria, she must be jealous of her
then. No matter who they are, their target was most likely you!" Holger said.
