Her parents’ eyes were on her, and Sasha shifted uncomfortably in her chair. She’d been so worried about their reaction that she’d barely had time to worry about when they would ask her to name the man she’d gotten pregnant for.
Her parents knew the Luthors very well, and she was sure as hell that her father would do something crazy if she told him that Kaleb was the father of her baby. He’d probably decide to have a talk with him, and she didn’t want to imagine how that talk would go, especially now that Kaleb wasn’t even aware of her situation. He’d probably be pissed at her too. Oh God! What a messy situation this was.
“I can’t tell you that right now,” Sasha said, hoping that her parents would drop it, but knowing it wasn’t going to happen.
“What?” her father thundered, and again Penelope placed her hand on his.
“Easy dear” she said.
“Please dad, I haven’t even told him that he’s going to be a father. I know you’d want to say something to him if I tell you. Don’t you think he should hear this news from me instead of my parents?”
“So we know this fella?” asked Sylvester.
Sasha closed her eyes and mentally beat herself up for letting that slip. “Yes… No…. I mean, it doesn’t matter. Why don’t you just let me handle this part and whatever happens, I’ll let you and mom know. Please”
There was a pause before her father said, “Fine, but he better be ready to take responsibility for his child, or else he’ll be hearing from me!”Published by Nôv'elD/rama.Org.
Sasha nodded and tried to stop herself from asking him what he meant by ‘taking responsibility’. She knew he probably meant marriage and she was 100% sure that Kaleb wasn’t ready or willing to marry anyone… Not even her for that matter. And it wasn’t just Kaleb, she wasn’t sure she wanted to get married anytime soon either, but what was the point of mentioning this to her father at the moment? It would only make him angrier and no one wanted that.
“Sure dad” she said softly. Deeply hurt by his reaction and his inability to even hide the fact that he was disappointed in her.
“Now eat your breakfast, dear” Penelope urged her, “You are going to be eating for two from now on and you know you have a journey ahead of you.”
Sasha nodded and tried to do as she was told, but her appetite was gone, and she couldn’t stand the look on her father’s face. She stood up after, “I think I should go upstairs and pack up” she said, “I have a test tomorrow that I still need to study for.”
After she left, Penelope glared at her husband, “That wasn’t what we discussed last night.” she said with a frown, “I know that this isn’t what you want for our daughter, but she’s an adult and you cannot control everything. How about you try to ignore everything else and just focus on the fact that we are going to be grandparents. You should be more understanding…. Considering the fact that you were not always willing to do everything your parents wanted. Cut Sasha some slack. She’s our daughter and if she cannot come to us at a time like this, then where is she going to go? I will not have this conversation with you again,”
Without waiting for his reply, she stood up and went in the same direction Sasha had taken.

How does a girl tell a guy she’s pregnant for him? This question drummed itself in Sasha’s mind until she thought she thought she’d go crazy. Did they just blurt it out? Or did they give him hints? And how the hell did they deal with the guy’s reaction that he was going to be a father? This announcement was going to change his life as well as hers… And since she wasn’t taking the news quite well, how was he supposed to take it?
When her phone rang unexpectedly, she jumped in shock. It was Tilly, inviting her to come over to the Luthors for a sleepover. Sasha almost said no, but she’d been avoiding Tilly so much lately that she was sure that Tilly was beginning to suspect that something was wrong, so she agreed to come over that evening. But not after she confirmed from Tilly that Kaleb wasn’t going to be present.
“I don’t think he’s going to be here” Tilly replied when she asked, “I mean, he has his own place now, doesn’t he?”
Feeling a little bit satisfied with that answer, Sasha packed an overnight bag and headed for the Luthor mansion that evening. Tilly’s parents were out of town for the week, so they had the place to themselves. They had popcorn, watched movies on Netflix and talked about almost everything.
Tilly didn’t ask Sasha about her mystery flower guy as she called him sometimes, and Sasha suspected that she just didn’t want to hurt her by asking.
Hours later into the night, they heard someone drive into the compound and Tilly went to check who it was. Sasha remained in the living room, but when she heard the unmistakable sound of Kaleb’s voice, she panicked.
She stood up immediately. Hurrying across the room, she hastily let herself into the visitor’s room where she’d be staying for the night. The last thing she wanted was for Kaleb to think she was eager to see him again. If she did decide to tell him about the baby, he mustn’t think she expected him to change his mind about the both of them.
Moving across to the windows, drawn by a faint illumination, she saw the underwater lights gleaming in the pool below. She remembered the time she’d first seen him when he returned while swimming in that pool. Then she had weird thoughts of the both of them in there… Together…. Making love…
The thoughts wouldn’t go away, and leaving the window, she walked into the bedroom. Having thoughts like that was the reason why she was in this situation right now.
Sasha tipped the straps of her dress off her shoulders and allowed it to fall about her ankles. She wasn’t wearing a bra and her breasts seemed heavier than before. Stepping over the dress, she walked into the bathroom and stared at her reflection. Yes, there were definitely changes. She could see them. When she weighed her breasts in her hands, they felt different somehow.
