Chapter 44 Quarrel
Chapter 44 Quarrel
Strangely, Sarah did not come to the company for Jeffery. The other colleagues were all watching Jane
make a fool of herself, but no one brought her any trouble. It seemed that they were waiting for the
day when she completely lost Jeffery's favor and they would watched a good show.
Because of the last incident, Susie seemed to have signs of abortion. She asked for leave to stay in the
hospital and didn't bother Jane again.
"Jane, let's inspect an apartment this afternoon. My friend has a nice small apartment to rent. It's not
expensive, but you have to help take care of her pets." Joel walked out of the elevator to Jane's desk,
as if he was claiming the credit. Original from NôvelDrama.Org.
Jane looked up from the pile of documents and asked. "What kind of pet? Is it an amphibious cold-
blooded animal?"
"No, it's just a blue cat. You'll know when you see it. You can use the exempted rent as living expenses
for a cat every month. I'll come to pick you up after work." Joel turned around and left.
Jane thought about it and reckoned that raising a cat might not be a bad thing. In this case she would
not be lonely in the future, and she could inspect it with Joel. If the price was reasonable, she would
move this weekend.
"Jane, the president asked you to go to his office." Tina looked at her from behind.
When Jane heard Jeffery was calling for her, she was a little nervous. "What did the president say? I
still have work to do."
"It seems that you are in a hurry. You'd better go and have a look, or you may get into trouble when he
is angry."
Tina didn't bother to explain. She thought that Jane was not a simple woman. She had an affair with
Mrs. Reed's fiancé before, and then she fell in love with boss Mr. Jones. Now Miss. Crowe appeared,
and she was flirting with Mr.Jones all day. She couldn't help but be jealous.
Jane ignored her little thoughts. After hesitating for a while, she slowly walked into Jeffery's office and
opened the door. Jeffery sat behind the desk and read the documents. She tried to keep calm as much
as possible. "Mr. Jones, you're looking for me."
"What did Joel look for you to do?" Jeffery didn't even raise his head. He asked Jane coldly, obviously
angry.
Jane was a little stunned. How did he know that she had just spoken to Joel? She glanced around and
saw the camera on Jeffery's computer monitor. It was a monitor that was facing her computer on her
desk.
She suddenly understood something and frowned unpleasantly. Instead of answering, she asked in a
low voice. "Are you monitoring me every day?"
"You are an employee of the company, and I am the boss. During work time, the boss will supervise the
employee’s efficiency. Is there any problem?" Jeffery put down the pen in his hand and looked up with
a serious face.
Jane felt helpless and could not retort. She opened her mouth and finally remained silent.
She remained silent, but Jeffery's face looked worse.
He stood up, walked around the desk, and stood in front of her. Then, he reached out to lift Jane's chin
and forced her to face him. "Why did Joel look for you? You've been hiding from me recently. Do you
want to be with him?"
Jane's pupils suddenly contracted, and felt like her heart was being pinched.
Did he, like the men, also thought that she was hooking up with him and even his brother?
"No, Mr. Jones just gave me a little favor."
Jane looked down. She didn't want to tell Jeffery that she might have to move so early, nor did she
want to communicate in such a manner like a quarrel.
Jeffery saw her sturbbon look, a glint flashed across his black eyes and he clasped her hands tigher,
"Ask him for help? I am your man. Why can't you ask for me but him for help? ?"
His strength was bigger. Jane's jaw was pinched red. She frowned in pain, but didn't say a word.
Her calm heart was messed up by his words. "I am your man." In the past, she would probably feel that
her heart would be moved. But at this time, there was only a pain left in her heart that made her feel
suffocated.
He was not her man, but actually Sarah's, wasn't he?
"Mr. Jones needs to accompany Miss. Crowe. It's not appropriate for me to disturb you."
"You !"
Jeffery glared at her, but after a long while, he kept silent. However, Jane's heart beat was really fast
when she said that.
She knew that her words would cause more conflicts between them and even make Jeffery hate her.
But d*mn it. Women always spoke one thing, but acted another. She couldn't even control herself at the
moment.
Jane didn't want to make a scene. She didn't want to hate Jeffery, because of the appearance of Sarah
making her as a substitute.
Because when she was in her most difficult and helpless state, he had helped her once. Even if there
were other reasons, he was still a hundred times better than those who only watched by the side, and
only kicking her while she's down.
Jeffery seemed to be agitated by Jane's attitude. Without a word, he lowered his head and kissed
Jane's lips. His kiss was so wild that Jane felt that she was dying.
She couldn't push Jeffery away and could only let him kiss her randomly. Jane's whole body was soft
and powerless. It was not until there was a knock on the door outside the office that she was relieved
from Jeffery's hand.
Jane smoothed her clothes and stood up. Her lips were burning and swollen. She lowered her head,
afraid that she would be seen by others who came in.
Jeffery returned to his desk and let the person who knocked on the door in.
It was Sarah who pushed the door open. When she came in, she was surprised to see Jane standing
there with her head down, but soon focused on Jeffery. "Jeffery, there is a diamond exhibition in the
Berly building in the afternoon. I want to attend it. Could you go with me?"
"I have a meeting this afternoon." Jeffery looked down at the documents. He didn't want to attend a
public exhibition like this unless necessary.
Sarah was a little disappointed and felt that she was embarrassed. After all, Jane was still here. Jeffery
directly refused her, which made her lose face.
"Jeffery, just this time. I won't waste too much time on you. Have you forgotten what have you promised
me?" Sarah walked over pitifully and shook Jeffery's arm gently, like a little girl acting cute to her
boyfriend.
"Mr. Jones, I'll go out first." Jane didn't want to stay here as a third wheel. She felt that she was like a
third wheel, If she continued to stay here, she was afraid that she was so bright that others would be
blind.
"Does Jane have a boyfriend? If she has nothing else to do, why don't we go together too? You've
worked so hard with Jeffery. We'll pick a diamond ring for you and use it as a wedding gift." Sarah's
every word, intended or not, hurt Jane's heart.
However, what surprised her most was that Jeffery and Sarah were getting married? Why did he
choose a diamond ring to give to her? Jane looked up at Jeffery subconsciously, only to meet Sarah's
eyes.
