Billionaire’s Pampered Wife

Chapter 662 Are You Willing To?

Stella finally understood. Eli had fallen in love with Sean.

This ending was also what she wanted to see. Stella had always hoped that Eli would live happily ever after with Sean.

“Eli, you have to remember that you can’t control men. What you have to do is to become better, instead of spending your effort on pleasing others. When a woman begins to lose herself for their men, they would enter a realm of jealousy. They eventually lose their sense of security and begin to lower their self-worth. Do you understand?” Stella said meaningfully.

“Oh, okay, I got it. I think that Yvonne has already lost her self-worth, but I haven’t,” Eli chuckled with a grin.

Stella was speechless upon hearing Eli’s comment.

“Well, think about it yourself. My place is always open for you and you’ll always have me,” Stella said seriously.Content © NôvelDrama.Org 2024.

“Haha, it’s a good thing that you’re not a man. Otherwise, I would’ve fallen in love with you. By the way, are you going to B Country with Bellamy this time?” Eli asked curiously.

“What country B?” Stella was confused.

“Oh, do you not know about it yet?” Eli asked in surprise.

She thought that Stella had known about it.

“Well, here’s the thing. Our country has five spies in B Country, and two of them were exposed. Bellamy, as the Secretary of External Affairs, will have to negotiate with them.

Sean said that you are a negotiation expert and he wanted you to go together with him. They’re probably still in a meeting and the news hasn’t been announced yet,” Eli explained.

Stella finally understood why Bellamy had suddenly left the night before.

“Eli, I have some matters to attend to right now. I’ll call you later,” Stella said.

“Alright. Talk to you later then,” Eli responded.

“Will do,” Stella said as she hung up the phone.

She then immediately called Bellamy.

Bellamy, who was in a meeting, saw that it was Stella calling and immediately motioned to Sean. He excused himself and went to a secluded area to answer the phone. “What’s wrong, Stella? Did something happen?”

“No, I’m still on my way to the police station. Are you going to B Country?” Stella directly asked.

“Sean recommended you to go, and we’re currently discussing it now. The votes are split at the moment. However, would it be alright for you to head over to B Country later in the evening if we do come to a decision? Are you able to make it?” Bellamy asked.

Stella remained silent. Her chest heaved up and down due to her unstable breathing.

Bellamy waited for her response patiently.

“Did this happen because of me?” Stella asked.

“I don’t know who’s behind this. I’m not even sure of the exact reason,” Bellamy said solemnly.

“You’re lying to yourself, Jasper. As you can see, once you’ve become their target, they’ll attack you layer by layer. We’ll eventually harm innocent people. They’re crazy and they’ll do anything for their own benefit,” Stella said. She was a little anxious.

“But I can’t let anything happen to you. You’re my priority,” Bellamy said.

“What if you die in B Country? Do you think that their purpose is to expose you? The exposure is just the beginning. As long as you go to B Country, they will try their best to kill you. Once you die in B Country, they’ll use this reason to suppress B Country and appease the contradiction,” Stella said.

Bellamy suddenly came to a realization upon hearing Stella’s reminder. “In that case, I vote against you going. Have a good rest at home. I’ll go there alone.”

He immediately hung up the phone.

Stella sighed and took a deep breath.

She knew that she was too anxious. Her tone was not pleasant and it sounded as though she was blaming him.

However, Bellamy did all that just so that he could protect her.

She shouldn’t have been angry with him.

Bellamy had done everything for her, yet she scolded him. He would’ve felt wronged.

Stella tried to call him again to apologize, but Bellamy didn’t pick up the phone. On the other side, Bellamy had voted against the proposal, “I don’t agree to let Stella go. No matter how powerful she is, she’s just a civilian. I will solve this issue myself.”

Upon hearing Bellamy’s words, Sean was stunned for a moment. Samuel had initially opposed to it as well. However, he was stunned when he heard Bellamy’s objection. At that moment, Sean and Quinn were the only ones who hadn’t expressed their opinions.

Sean remained silent. His eyes were focused yet indiscernible as he stared at Quinn.

“I think that everyone here knows about Stella’s ability. She is a famous psychologist and her reputation thrives internationally. Her eloquence is even more remarkable. I believe many people have witnessed it in person. Now, this is a national matter. Although she’s not a member of the government, as a citizen of our country, I think that she has the power and obligation to negotiate with B country,” Quinn said.

After hearing Quinn’s words, Bellamy was even more determined to not let Stella go.

There was one thing that he had not thought about until Stella brought it up. If he and Stella died in B Country, it would be hard for B Country to absolve themselves of the blame. Quinn would then intervene and deal with the issue in a short amount of time. Not only would Quinn be crowned as a national hero then, but he would also be able to get rid of his two major threats at the same time.

He only thought about contributing to the country with Stella. He was negligent and he had forgotten about the plot within the plan.

Everyone’s eyes were on Sean as they waited for his decision.

“I’ll call Stella and see what she thinks,” Sean said. He then called Stella and put it on speaker.

“Hello, Stella, it’s Sean. We currently have an issue here. B Country has caught two of our men and accused them of being spies. We need someone to assist the Secretary of External Affairs to negotiate with the other party. Would you be willing to do so?” Sean asked politely.

“You should find a lawyer to negotiate with them. If you were to send me instead, it will show that there are no talents in our country. Additionally, I don’t think that I have the rights or necessity to participate in this negotiation,” Stella refused immediately.

“Everyone, including civilians, should take upon the responsibility readily when it comes to a national matter. Do you not care if the country is in trouble?” Quinn interjected.

“It’s because of this responsibility that I feel that I mustn’t go. I specialize in medicine and I know a little about psychology. However, you should find professional and powerful lawyers in terms of diplomatic negotiations. Well, I’m going to the police station now. Just to let you know, I’m only cooperating with you. Please forgive me. I’m a pregnant woman. I’m not in a good mood and I tend to vent my anger on others,” Stella directly hung up the phone as soon as she had finished speaking.

Sean was surprised when Stella refused him. He turned to Quinn and said, “Since you said that everyone bears the responsibility of ensuring the country well being, I’ll let Bellamy go to B Country. Mr. Zellweger, I shall leave F Country to you then.”

Quinn was shocked and he asked, “Why me?”

“You’re the best candidate in the Department of Legal Affairs. No one is as professional as you are when it comes to negotiation and the law. I believe that there is no one more suitable you, Mr. Zellweger,” Sean said with a smile.

Quinn was stunned. He wondered if Stella and Sean had just performed a two-man show.

At that moment, he had no way to back down from the offer. Instead, he could only agree and promised, “I’ll do my best.”

“Alright, let’s call it a day then. Bellamy, please send out a letter from the Department of External Affairs as soon as possible. This matter cannot be delayed any longer,” Sean demanded.

Bellamy immediately stood up. However, Samuel had stopped him before he could leave…
