Chapter 702 If You Die, I Will Accompany You, We Can Be Together
“So you’re saying that he’s done much better than me, yet a person as such has left me just like that. He did not let the world down, but he chose to let me down. Why should I live the way that he wants then?” Stella was agitated and she shrugged Bellamy’s hands away.
“Is that why you’re going to die for someone who has failed you? Do you think that it’s worthwhile doing that?” Bellamy was started to get anxious too.
Stella turned around and looked out the window. “You should leave. I want to be alone.”
“From now on, I won’t leave you, not even for half a step. If you die, I will accompany you,” Bellamy said deeply, his gaze firm and determined.
Stella looked at him in confusion. Resentment and anger could be seen in her eyes.
Bellamy remained silent. He raised his head to look at her with a smile.
Stella turned her back on him once more.
At this moment, Suzi pushed the door open and came in. She was slightly surprised when she saw Bellamy in the room too.
“Mom, I’m back,” Bellamy said as he took over the plate in Suzi’s hand.
Suzi cried with joy, and she said between sobs, “Good, good. It’s great to have you back. You haven’t eaten yet, right? I will bring another plate over. You should accompany Stella.”
“Thank you, Mom,” Bellamy said.
Suzi rubbed her tears away and left happily.
Stella fixed her gaze, a strange emotion welling up in her eyes. She turned around and looked at Bellamy. “Where is Ralph? You should let him come home.”
“Ralph hates you. It’s too dangerous for you to keep him by your side,” Bellamy refused directly.
She knew that Bellamy was telling the truth, but she did not even care about her own life anymore, so she was not afraid of danger.
However, Bellamy was firm, and there seemed to be no way to convince him otherwise.
Perhaps she was too tired, or perhaps she was too anxious before. It felt as though her mind was in a muddled mess. She really needed to rest.
“I don’t want to eat. I just want to sleep,” Stella said.
“Sure, rest as much as you want. We will eat when you wake up. I won’t leave,” Bellamy said gently as he lifted the quilt, gesturing Stella to climb into bed.
Stella lay down on the bed and Bellamy covered her body with the quilt, revealing only her face.
He lowered his head, tapped her forehead lightly, and whispered, “I will protect you, I promise.”
Stella closed her eyes, but her eyelashes continued to tremble. She gulped and remained silent.
The doctor came in the afternoon. Bellamy noticed that Stella was fast asleep, so he asked the doctor to leave.
Elvis looked at Bellamy, who looked exactly like Jasper. He mustered up his courage and asked, “May I talk to you?”
Bellamy knew that Elvis was Jasper’s confidante. He nodded and opened the door. He did not go too far; he stayed outside the door.
“Are you Chief Milton?” Elvis asked as he stared at Bellamy.
After all, they looked exactly the same. He could not even tell the difference between them at all.
“I am his twin brother,” Bellamy did not lie.
“Then the Chief… Mrs. Milton…” Elvis’ eyes were red, he could not bring himself to speak.
“I will take up the responsibilities of my brother, I will finish his unaccomplished goals. Don’t worry, I will look after Stella. Let me know if there’s anything you need. Also, Stella is not feeling well. I will get a military doctor to stay by her side all the time,” Bellamy said.
Elvis did not say anything.
He could vaguely sense that Chief Milton’s brother was a good person. After all, this was the man who had defeated Quinn Zellweger. “Was Quinn the one behind Chief Milton’s assassination?”
“Yes,” Bellamy replied with a single word.
“I understand. Please take good care of Mrs. Milton. She has been crying all day, even her voice had turned hoarse. I don’t know what to do,” Elvis said helplessly.
“I will. You should head back to your tasks in the meantime. Oh, one more thing, has the Dark Shadows returned?” Bellamy asked thoughtfully.
“Not yet, they will return tomorrow,” Elvis reported.
“Make the necessary arrangements. I want to guarantee Stella’s safety,” Bellamy instructed.
“Yes, Chief.” Elvis saluted. He looked at Bellamy’s face, which was exactly like Chief Milton’s. Elvis fell into a trance.
Bellamy nodded and returned to the room. He continued to accompany Stella.
It was already 6 p. m. when Stella woke up from her slumber.
When she opened her eyes, the first thing she saw was Bellamy. She looked dreamily at the face that was exactly like Jasper’s. She did not want to think about anything. She just wanted to keep looking at him like this, as though Jasper was by her side.
“Are you hungry?” Bellamy asked. “I just chatted with Mom for a while. She wanted to make you the freshest fish soup and she also wants to bring you fishing in the afternoon.”
When she heard Bellamy’s voice, which was exactly like Jasper’s, she felt a dull pain in her heart.
She was enjoying happiness here. What about Jasper then? Was he suffering from loneliness?
She sat up and said, “I’ll have to thank Mom for that.”
Bellamy immediately helped her up. He tried to persuade her, “The most tiring part is when the person you love most is not here. You should know this better than us. Your hardships will be worth it.”
Stella stepped down from the bed. She looked very calm, her facial expression gave nothing away. She sniffed and said, “I smell the fragrance of fish.”
“You have a sharp nose. Should we go down for dinner, or do you want to have it sent up here?” Bellamy asked kindly.
Stella glanced at him. “Are you going to use Jasper’s identity?”
“Suzi is already old, I do not wish to hurt her. She is also someone whom Jasper wants to protect,” Bellamy spoke in a deep voice.
Stella understood and reminded him, “Jasper is usually reserved and he usually wouldn’t take the initiative to talk to Suzi. Even when Suzi talks to him, he would only nod. You should pay more attention to that. After all, Suzi and Jasper have been family for so many years. She will see through your tricks if you’re not careful.”
Bellamy smiled and said, “I will need your help and guidance in the future. Am I very different from Jasper?”
“You look the same, you sound the same, but your behavior and temperament are completely different. He is reserved, you are unrestrained,” Stella analyzed.
“Alright, I will pay attention to that in the future. I will build a shed by the river tomorrow morning, and I’ll go fishing with you,” Bellamy said with a smile.
Stella did not say anything.
Suzi saw Stella and Bellamy when she came downstairs. She said with a smile, “I was about to go upstairs and call you for dinner, but I didn’t expect you to come down here.”
“I got hungry when I got a whiff of the delicious fish,” Stella said with a smile.
“You didn’t eat the fish at noon. Elvis happened to come over, so I asked him to bring some for Lynette.”
“Lynette has just undergone surgery, so she can’t eat seafood. She should eat more fruits and vegetables,” Stella said.
“Oh really? I’ll give them a call then,” Suzi said guiltily.
“However, it should be alright for her to eat just a little bit. I think that the doctors would remind her of it,” Stella comforted Suzi.
“No, I still have to call to ask them,” Suzi was worried and she immediately called over.Content held by NôvelDrama.Org.
Seeing how concerned Suzi was towards Lynette, Stella felt a sense of comfort in her heart.
Lynette was an orphan. She should stay with Suzi in the future.
Bellamy kept looking at Stella, as though he was afraid that Stella would suddenly disappear before his eyes.
He remembered every smile on her face.
