Chapter 113
Chapter 113
113 Gable’s Arrival
“How can you just walk away, after everything?” Bella’s voice broke as she clutched at her heart,
confronting Alex. “Was I nothing to you all these years?” Content is © by NôvelDrama.Org.
Alex’s back was to her, his steps unwavering as he moved away. His silence was a deafening
confirmation–there had never been any affection. Bella collapsed, her tears mixing with the dust
beneath her.
Amidst her despair, she vowed vengeance against Emma. If it wasn’t for her, Bella’s world wouldn’t
have crumbled.
The airport buzzed with activity as a man with striking auburn hair emerged from the arrivals. Gable,
pushing back his glasses, blended an air of intellect with rugged charm. He checked his watch,
expecting his brother, Maxwell, to greet him. Yet, the crowd offered no familiar face.
He was about to hail a cab when his phone rang. It was Maxwell.
“Apologies, Gable. I got caught up. Didn’t Wayne, arrange a pick–up for you?”
Scanning the crowd, Gable saw no one. He sighed, realizing neither brother had informed anyone of
his return.
“No worries, I’ll take a cab. Is Emma at home?” Gable inquired, eager to return after his stint at a
renowned international lab.
He had chosen to come back, driven by the desire to establish his own research lab and inspired by
recent family gatherings he’d heard about.
En route, a call diverted his plans. It was Alex, his brother–in–law, requesting urgent medical
assistance for his sister, injured in a car crash.
“I’m in town. Send the address, I’ll be right there,” Gable promptly responded.
At the hospital, Alex briefed Gable on the situation. Lillian’s hand was at risk, and only Gable’s skill
might save it.
As Gable prepared for surgery, he reflected on Alex’s desperation. He knew Alex’s past neglect and
wondered if his concern now was too little, too late.
In the operating room, Gable’s hands moved with precision, a testament to his dual genius in both
medicine and science.
Outside, Nathan, Alex’s friend, anxiously awaited news. “Is the doctor here trustworthy?”
“He’s the best. The same one who saved me years ago. Just arrived in the country today,” Alex
assured. “I’m so glad I caught him on time for this!”
Nathan knew Alex’s history and realized the magnitude of having Gable’s expertise. A sense of relief

washed over him, hopeful for Lillian’s recovery.
In the operating room, Gable worked tirelessly, his focus unyielding. His reputation as a surgeon,
although less known than his scientific achievements, was about to save another life
