Chapter 40 Karma’s A Bitch
Chapter 40 Karma’s A Bitch
Peter rolled his eyes. Fine, just let them be.
"Becca is like a child. She has suffered from a lot. It would be grievous. Just embrace her." Phill
comforted him.
Kelvin have always been uninterested in women while Peter change girlfriends quite often, and Kelly
was always single. Phill is the only one who has a stable relationship with his wife from one to the end,
having a three-year- old child.
Kelvin glance at each of them, and finally, asked, "How do you... comfort a woman?"
Peter laughed. Their omnipotent boss also has a weakness.
"Well," Phill thought for a while, "my wife is gentle. We always communicate with each other. We never
had a quarrel."
Kelvin then looked at Peter.
"I’m pretty good at comforting women." Peter answered. "Just obey her. If she wants something, just
buy it for her. If anyone made her unhappy, then beat him. If she is angry for no reason, then don’t ask
why. Do not reason with her. Women are women. They are never wrong. Even they make mistakes, it’s
all because of you."
(So, I need to admit fault first?)
Kelvin frowned. For the 28 years, he had admitted to a mistake for only once. But that was all old news.
No one had ever dared to question him due to his position and status.
"But there is one more thing..." Peter said mysteriously, "If a woman is having a period, there’s no
solution."
Kelvin pondered.
(Maybe Becca is also having a period...)
"Speaking of which." Phill continued, "I am a father. I have to remind you that you and Becca are not
suitable to have children currently. You'd better take it easy, otherwise, if your dad knows..."
Because they are Kelvin’s best friends, they know his dad’s temper. His dad is even fiercer than Kelvin.
Kelvin also felt a little nervous after hearing Phill’s words.
He indeed did not consider it.
Kelvin hummed and stood up. He opened the door and left.
Peter ringed his chest, crossed his legs, "We should not underestimate Becca. Have you ever seen
Kelvin acting like this?"
Phill sized up Peter with an inquisitive glance and stood up, "We should not contact each other these
days. I feel that you will getting me into trouble with you."
"Hey!" Peter reluctantly shouted, "Don't be so unrighteous."
Kelvin stood at the elevator door for a while, he thought carefully about Peter's words. It does make
sense, but he did not have a clue. So, he took out his phone and opened the browser.
"What should a husband do during a woman’s period?"
The screen is dense with a bunch of answers. The answers were to buy hygiene products, massage
the belly, get brown sugar water, keep warm...
Ten minutes later, Kelvin was already standing in the supermarket, pushing a shopping cart.
He paced back and forth in front of the row of feminine products for a long time.
"Sir, come and buy something for your girlfriend." The salesclerk sensed his intention and came
forward to talk. Belonging © NôvelDram/a.Org.
"I'm not ......"
"It’s OK. I'll introduce them to you."
Kelvin was just about to retort, but the staff was so enthusiastic that she had already dragged his
shopping cart inside.
Kelvin had no choice, looked around and followed up.
"Nah, there are pure cotton, and mesh, these brands are quite good. Which one do you want?" The
staff pointed to the colorful pile of sanitary products with a smile on her face.
Kelvin knows nothing about them. But when thinking of Becca, his ears turned red.
"Don’t be shy. It's not like our time. Boyfriends always come over to buy them."
She laughed and took some off the shelf.
Kelvin took a glance at them. It seemed that indeed he was too negligent in taking care of her, which
was what caused the misunderstandings between the two.
"The most expensive." He answered.
"Okay." She chose some of the various models of a brand for him and took him to get all the brown
sugar water and hot packs.
Kelvin stood at the entrance of the supermarket with two large bags. He smiled helplessly.
He’s karma’s here.
In the residence, the light in Becca’s room was turned off. Kelvin did not turn on the lights. He put
things carefully on the floor.
There is a slight breathing sound. Kelvin sat down on the edge of the bed and looked at her for a while
by the light from the window.
"Kelvin..." Becca rolled over, muttering in a low voice.
Kelvin raised his eyebrows and moved closer to her.
"Kelvin... you idiot..." Becca moaned.
Kelvin smiled.
He wondered if he should feel grateful by being promoted from asshole to idiot.
The alarm went off.
She sat up from bed with a messy hair. She rubbed her eyes. The house was still empty... Huh? What
is that?
Becca noticed the two bags of things on the ground. She went over with bare feet.
After seeing the stuffs in the bad, she was confused. Was it Kelly? But how did he know that she was
about to have her period?
And it seemed impossible for Kelvin to buy such things for her.
Actually, she was about to buy them. So she accepted them gladly.
The mysterious man's gift was accepted by Becca, and the unhappiness of yesterday seemed to be
washed away.
"Becca," Kelly handed her the lunchbox, "Let me deliver it to you at noon. The food will taste bad if it is
left for a long time."
"It's okay, I'll just heat it up in the microwave. You don't have to bother." Becca smiled brightly.
Kelly shoved two small bags of brown sugar into her hands, "Don’t forget to drink them."
Becca looked at the brown sugar in her hand. She was stunned. She was moved by his thoughtful
behavior.
"Thank you, Kelly." She looked at him with sincerity, "You're such a kind man."
"Huh?" Kelly was confused.
"I'm leaving. Goodbye!" Without waiting for his reply, Becca carried the lunchbox and ran in towards the
company.
Kelly looked at her confusedly. It was Mr. Lewis that asked him to prepare them. He said that Becca will
definitely forget, so specially asked him to bring them to her.
A busy day officially began.
Previously, only designers with a silver medal or higher could participate in the designer competition.
But this time, for some reason, the requirements were changed. So all people could participate
regardless of their rank. The entire design department stated to prepare for it.
"Becca, I just heard that a newcomer has been fired from the fourth group." Janet whispered to Becca.
"Really?" Becca was surprised, it was only the third day of internship.
"Yes, I heard it was yesterday, during the orientation meeting, the intern commented that a golden
designer's design similar to a new product released by a brand. Then, the intern was fired on the spot."
Janet shivered, "The rank means everything in Heyday. It is terrifying that a golden designer can fire
newcomers without the permission of the boss."
Becca was also nervous. Laura could say those words because she knew about it.
She couldn’t just wait to be fired. She has to find a way out immediately.
