Chapter 16: Moonshine Interference
The feeling is surreal, the feeling of having my man beside me is euphoric. Every single guest was having fun and aside from my parents, my uncles and aunts were here too. There was no outsider in this wedding, just both families.
Although everyone is having fun, I couldn’t help myself to be sad in some point. Remembering the days were Miho and I are happily discussing the future, where we even sworn to be there in this kind of situation.
Partly, I am blaming myself too. Maybe what happened to me really had a bad effect to some people especially to my best friend.
The day is almost finish, but I can clearly see how big the full moon today. We are in open field, so the scenery of the sky is part of the decoration. After some drinking and eating, my family finally bid their farewell to me.
“I will miss you, Darling,” my mom whispered while holding my hands. She’s got teary eyes too.
“Mummy, it’s not like Saint Lawrence is that far, I’m just here.” I whispered to her.
She nodded and hugged me. “You look beautiful,”
“Uhmm, thank you, by the way where’s dad?” I asked in the middle of our hug.
“Don’t mind your father. She can’t see you off like this.” She whispered.
I smiled and nodded. “Okay, tell him I love him.”
After few moments they were all inside their cars and left the venue. Somehow, it’s like some part of me was torn. I’ve been here alone a lot of times but the difference is that from now on, this will be my home.
As the sun goes down, the moon is becoming more and more evident. I don’t know if I’m just imagining things, but the moon is bigger in this location than it was in the city. I can also hear the crickets and the sound of live insects of the young evening, but the lights from our wedding reception remained.
I can feel a hand snaked on my waist. His warmth and essence filled my nose and body. I looked upon him and smiled.
“Hi, husband.” I giggled and kissed his cheeks.
“Hi,” his husky voice filled my ears.
I smiled again and we watched the moon together. I can even hear his heavy breaths on my hair.
“It’s time.”
We both look at the back when we heard Liria. I took a deep breath because I understood what she was saying. It’s time for the ritual.
Inside the big cabin, there’s an altar surrounded with irises, and they made me lay in there. The roof on that spot was only covered with transparent glass, making me see the clear starry night. The moonlight wasn’t in front of me yet, but I guess few minutes from now, it will be parallel with my position.
“Close your eyes, I’m just here.” Vigor whispered and kissed my forehead.
Slowly, I don’t even know how it was possible that I am indeed feeling sleepy. Every blink of my eyes is making me fall into a deep sleep, until I no longer feel my surroundings at all.
…
The ritual began, the clan were inside the big Cabin assisting the elder while speaking the words of the Sylrians. The book is as thick as the dictionary, containing words that can only be seen by elders of wisdom and equality.
The Sylrians were the center of the creatures of the world. They hold the powers of God, and it was said that they were blessed. If there will be someone that could unite them and the others, it would be a Sylrian.
Because they were said to be extinct, that’s the reason why the group of one became many and created the feud of clans and territories. Adapting with the nature of their powers, then the Vampires, Werewolves, Sirens and Elves were born.
“Kathós to fos tou fengarioú gínetai to fos tou kósmou, as eínai i dýnami na gínei énas apó tous ischyroús lykánthropous na parachoritheí kai na evlogitheí.” The elder spoken the words coming from the book.
“NA CHORIGITHETE KAI AUTOU,” the clan chanted every after repetition of the words.
As the moonshine slowly lit the whole cabin, they were in awe as they see how Pyress’ skin glow from the blessing of the moon.
“What’s happening,” Vigor asked the elder.
“She’s on the process of becoming your mate, and the moon is giving her blessing.”
Vigor stood there, shock while clenching his jaws. The beauty coming from her wife is very different from what she is supposed to look.
It was longer than they expected, and suddenly they heard a loud thud from the roof, covering the transparent glass where the moonshine is.
They all gasp because the process got interfered.
“What is happening!” Vigor hissed and went to his wife who’s still laying and asleep.
As he looked at above to see what’s happening, his eyes widened in anger as the Elf towered him with a grin on its face.
His anger came rushing to his veins and run outside to fucking catch the creature who interrupted the process.
“What was it Vigor!” He heard Leandro from his back.
“The Elves!”
He removed his tie and dumped his coat, after few moments, he transformed into a wolfman. He jumped on the roof trying to target the elf in exact position with proper coordinates, but it got away, he leaned on the roof and from the transparent glass, he ordered the Elder to continue the ritual as the moon came back from giving it’s moonshine to Pyress.
He jumped off again because the elf was on the woods running away. The Vista brothers were running after it too. Although they weren’t wolves yet, but they aren’t human as well. Their endurance and capacity is way bolder than any normal human being.
Vigor was jumping over the trees while trying his best to catch the almost flying elf, it was fast but so bright, making it easier to locate.
When he got a chance to grab it near the bridge, he held it’s hand but slipped away- enough to make it stop but created distance from them.
“Why are you here!” Leandro growled.
The Elf smirked, “Ah, you’re trying to revive your filthy clan?” The elf said mocking them.
Vigor changed his shape again; this time is his original animal form. He walked slowly on the bridge, giving the elf chills from his glares.
“Get the fuck out here if you don’t want me to hang your head and eat your body.” Vigor said and growled.
“Shut the fuck up you stupid animal, I am just trying to save that woman from your selfish motives!” The elf shouted seriously.
Vigor doesn’t like the tone of the elf, and he remembered the scent. It was the scent he caught from Pyress back then.
It feels like his blood came all way through his head and his lust to kill the damn Elf can’t be helped.
He jumped off in anger to catch the elf, but it got away again.
He was about to grab it back again, but the Vista brothers stopped him.
“Let him go,” Lex seriously stated. Text property © Nôvel(D)ra/ma.Org.
“I will come back here, and I will make sure that the woman you manipulated will leave the fuck out of you! BEAST!” The elf shouted as it was running away.
“Shut up you retarded creature! You talk a lot!” Leo Vista shouted annoyed.
Vigor changed, returned to his human form, but the expression on his face didn’t change. He is angry.
“Kill that Elf if sighted anywhere. I don’t care.” He said and walked out of there.
