Chapter 46
He’s my father
Sally chugged down the entire coffee. And dropped the cup on the table. She sniffed, taking the hanky by the table and dabbed her eyes with it. Then she leaned back on the chair. Kenzo took of his glasses and stare into space. He clutched his fist. Tightly by his side. And bang them on the table. She flinched. Kenzo had become the person she never wanted him to be. She wanted him to live a simple and happy life. Not the life her husband Brown lived. Not the life his father Brennon was living, a different one. One filled with so much love and happiness. That was the live she wished for her son.
But the son she was facing now, was like a monster. His gaze was hard, and deadly, his eyes were dark, and only have the expression of evil. His look wasn’t appealing at her to her. It was all frightening.
She could have risked it and save him, if she knew this was the life he was gonna choose.
She couldn’t bare to see him lose his life to the mafia. He was already trapped in it. She could see through him. His desires were to be the head of the mafia gang. The stupid secret cult they called it in disguise.
The only look her son had for him was hatred, he has every right to hate her. She couldn’t consider him as her son because she only gave birth to him.
His phone rang..
He looked down at the phone which was on the table. Sally peeped to see who was calling.
And she saw the name.
Small.
‘Small’ who could that be, who was small.
He hesitated before he slide the answer icon.
“Where are you. I waited last night.”
“Did I forget to tell you how you snore so loud last night.” He almost chuckled. This is property © of NôvelDrama.Org.
Sally studied him. Was there someone in his life. The hard look he had had suddenly slip away like it was never there, she saw him smiled.
Small, was actually a girl. Sally smiled, seeing the look on Kenzo’s face as he talks on the phone.
“When’re you coming home.”
“Soon.”
“I’ve been waiting.”
“I’ll be there soon. You’re acting strange.”
“I’m not.”
“You’re.”
“Are you still at Vietnam?”
“Yes. Do you want something.”
“Yes. Buy something I would like when you’re coming.”
“How would I know what you like?”!
“You do know.”
He chuckled now. He thought she was gonna be mad at him for what he did last night. Seems he had been scared for nothing. Or maybe she did but just wanna shrugged it off. He was glad wasn’t he?
What the hell was she doing to him.
“I’ll see you tonight.”
“I’ll be waiting.” She said the last part seductively. He laughed. Well she was trying. Elina laughed at the other end at how she sounds saying that.
“What have you been watching?”
“Opera.” She chuckled.
Kenzo laughed.
“I’ll see you later. I’m busy now.”
“Okay.”
He hanged up to see her staring at him. With a small smile. She looked away from him, and stare at the window.
“Who is she?”
“Someone.” He replied bluntly.
“You know you can’t hold a girl close to your heart. They would come for her and then you. Having someone that close could get you in danger. Because of me. Roger die.”
“That ain’t gonna happen.”
“It’s still the mafia, you can’t trust them. You don’t even know what they’re capable of.”
“I know, they don’t know what I’m capable of either. You should know how merciless I came be. I think we’re done here.”
He stood up. Sally stood up as well, he held his wrist. With a pleading eyes.
“I’m sorry. Kenzo.”
“There’s nothing to be sorry about. I don’t need you. I came to know. Who I was. I’m fully aware of it now and who my enemies is. Thanks a lot Mrs Sally Brown.” He removed her hands from his and did a small bow of respect then walked out.
Sally fell back on the chair.
She thought, what was she thinking, he would forgive her and accept her into his life. It wasn’t possible he would do that.
Hope the girl treats you well and protect you from death. Because war was coming and he was the target. If he would win the election,
It would all be decided by the girl. That’s if he didn’t cast her out. His life was just like brown. Though he wasn’t his biological father.
Kenzo, her son. He really did came for her. Came to see her, that was more than enough. To sustain her even if she doesn’t got to see her again.
Unknown to her she was being watched by a man in hoodie and a face cap. He had been seated there since they walked into the cafe. Like he had predicted their movements. He removed the newspaper he held away from his face, he smirked in a way that shows his upper gold teeth.
“Sally Brown And Kenzo Brennon. Amazing news for Savage. Wait for the blow. Brennon.” He chuckled and stood up. Then sits back again. He pulled the phone from his pocket. And dial a number, it rang for a while but no response. He tried a again, and this time the receiver picked up the call.
The voice wasn’t something as expected of a man over forty. It was soft and low.
“Found her already?”
“Yes boss. Seems she’s been hiding under our nostrils.”
“Good.”
“Should I ?”
“Not yet.”
“I’ve some good news. Kenzo is her son.”
“Kenzo Brennon? The arrogant bastard. Still hadn’t been able to get a hold of him yet. This would be it. Sally brown. It’s time to use her to get the little bastard. This time we’ll kill them both.”
“And Chief Brennon.”
“That Bastard, he’s going with them for betraying me, he shot me dead. He thought I was dead, to him I’m dead. He had to guts to ruin the plan. Else I would have been in that seat now. And Killing Brown And Sally won’t have been an issue. The bastard is part of my revenge plan. I’m gonna shock them when I get back. Get ready for a comeback.”
“Yes boss.”
“The sins of the parents would be on the child. What form would I take. A ghosty form ha ha. Can’t wait for the battlefield. We’re ain’t after the elections but after lives. We’ll make sure he doesn’t win and then kill him.”
He pulled the phone away from his ear and sips the bottle of beer in front of him. His right was patch. He wore a singlet which show off his tattooed covered skin.
His hair was sprayed white. There was a scar on his left cheek. And a missing tooth.
He was Savage savaged.
