Late night visit
Nima had finally calmed her mind and replayed the evening she spent with Joel, putting aside her intentions to get laid.
She realized he was so sweet and attentive towards her. What if she let him in?
A part of her felt that it is too early to be thinking about opening up, but she then wondered how long she want to keep doing that.
How long does she plan to remain in her room and act irritated in the midst of strangers?
She recalled how her heart sank when she called Emily that morning and hadn’t met the usual reaction from her friend.
She would have been all alone if Emily suddenly turned her back on her, which she hoped not.
Emily had become the only family she had.
It doesn’t hurt to try to know more people and make a small circle of friends that would care for each other. Maybe she could start with Joel.
Nima recalled the previous night she arrived at the dinner location, she had politely greeted the taxi driver and he hadn’t bitten her in return.
Perhaps she was the one letting her feelings control her. The man had notice she was uncomfortable in the back seat and literally pressed towards the door, making him give her occasional stare to see if she was okay.
At that moment, Nima felt she should break out of her shell a bit and see if she could slowly change her ways, which had been the reason why she greeted the man.
She took her time to think about how her life had been till the present date.
Nimalaya felt calmer and ready to talk to Joel once again after making various resolutions in her head.
She awaited his call, which finally came in when she was about drifting to sleep.
Nima picked the call, her heart taking a leap as she softly muttered, “Hello.”
“Angel.” Joel called, and both remained silent for a while before Joel added, “How are you doing?”
“All good.” Nima replied, unable to understand why she felt so happy upon hearing his voice again.
It has only been a day, yet it felt like weeks has passed since they last spoke to each other.
“You seem upset the other day and I couldn’t reach you after you left. Are we good?” He probed.
“I just needed time to process some things.” Nima said and Joel hummed in understanding.
“Do you still need time or now is a good time to talk?” He inquired.
“I think I can grant an audience.” Replied Nima.
“Awesome! Can you come down? I am outside your apartment building.”
Nima’s heart skipped a bit at the news that he was outside her apartment building.
“I will join you outside.” She managed to say after a few seconds of silence.
“If you can, put on a hoodie. The weather isn’t friendly.” Joel advised and Nima hummed in response before the call ended.
Nima’s heart began to pound loudly against her ribcage at the implication of seeing the man again so soon.
Will she get unreasonably horny like the previous night and make a fool of herself once again?
She was about to start panicking when she recalled everything she had discussed with Emily earlier and her own resolves.
She has to face this if she want to proceed further.
With that thought in mind, Nimalaya grabbed a white barbie animated hoodie and made her way outside to meet Joel.
She saw him resting his back to a red Lexus ride with a lit cigarette in between his fingers.
He looked so relaxed with his arms and legs crossed. His head was tilted to one side as he took occasional drag from the cigarette and blew the smoke into the air, which took its precious time to disperse into the chilly air.
Nima’s gaze was fixed on him. He look like a man straight out of a horny woman’s fairytale and wet dreams. He could easily passed for a successful model and a popular romance movie male lead.
As if sensing her approach, he glance at her direction and stood straight, before proceeding to meet her halfway, while taking a long drag from the remaining cigarette.
He paused to throw the rest on the floor and crushed it with his foot, before releasing the smoke into the air.
At that moment, Nima had gotten close enough. He smiled at her before grimacing and gesturing with his gaze directed at the crushed cigarette.
“One of my bad habit. Do you mind?” He asked.
Nima shook her head, “Nah! My friend does as well. I got used to it.” She replied.
“Emily right?” He asked and Nima nodded her head.Property © NôvelDrama.Org.
“Beautiful evening to you angel.” Joel greeted, while pulling out a blue liquid solution from his pocket and sprayed it in his mouth to sooth the strong scent of the cigarette.
Nima watched him silently.
Joel stared back at her and Nimalaya’s brain caught up to the fact that she had to wished him a good evening as well.
She was captivated by his appearance. He was putting on a gray suit with white shit and a matching gray suit trouser. He looked so handsome like a groom ready to take the love of his life as his wife.
His eyes twinkle like what Nima would call a genuine happiness as his eyes roamed her body.
Her hair was tied to the back with a hair band, while her slender smooth legs were exposed since she made a black bum-short pant as her choice of lower wear.
“Good evening, Joel.” Nima responded, a blush coming to settle on her cheeks.
Gosh! They had just taken their sweet time to check each other out.
Joel smile and to Nimalaya’s surprise, he softly poke the tip of her nose with his finger, “You are so adorable.” He said.
Nima’s anxiety instantly vanished and she felt herself letting go of any awkwardness from the day before.
His presence is just so soothing and what it does to her heart and emotions were unexplainable.
“About last night.”
“About yesterday.”
Both of them attempted to speak at the same time, before pausing and letting out a soft chuckles.
“Come.” Joel said and they both walked towards his car. “Is there any park near here?” He asked.
“It’s a bit far away, but there are some bench laid out behind the building.” She responded.
“That’s great. Let’s go there and talk.” Joel said and Nima directed the way.
