Chapter 42
Chapter 42
Xavier chased after Emmett. Upon seeing Emmett's frozen figure, he followed his line of sight, and looked forward. Xavier was shocked. “This… Is that Ell…”
Noticing that Emmett was gloomy, he hurriedly changed his words. “She isn’t like Alyssa. I’ll go over and take a look. That woman is definitely not your wife."
Emmett's face was tight, but he didn't say another word. Xavier took it as a sign of agreement. Without another word, he took a step towards the couple.
Xavier was nervous. Even though he wasn’t familiar with Alyssa, he could tell that the woman looked so much like her from behind. Yet, that couldn't be her, right? He saw the way she had gotten along with Emmett the other day, he would've known if she was cheating on him.
'Please don't let this woman be her.' Xavier pleaded at the back of his mind. He had been friends with Emmett for so many years, and he could see how much the man cared for this woman.
Although Alyssa wasn't any beauty, perhaps Emmett liked her because she was kind.
This woman better not be her!
Xavier walked forward and turned the woman’s face over. He had no choice but look at her face. Then he looked away.
She wasn’t Alyssa.
Xavier glanced at the woman again and said excitedly, “It’s not her!”
As soon as he heard Xavier's words, Emmett felt relaxed. He strode over to take a better look at the woman's face. As soon as he saw her, Emmett smiled gloomily.
“Where’s Alyssa?” His voice was had turned icy, and it was enough to make everyone freeze in place. Stretching out his hand, he pinched her neck.
Skylar froze in surprise. She didn't expect to see Emmett's cousin here. She struggled under his hardening grip. But she failed because he was much stronger. No matter how hard she moved around, she still couldn't break free from his hold.
The man who held Skylar was interrupted. He was about to scold them. Emmett glanced at him. The man shivered and kept silent. He looked up at Xavier who was standing behind Emmett.
Not wanting to mix himself into this mess, the man threw Skylar on the ground.
Before leaving, he turned to Xavier, “Mr. Xavier. Have a good time. I'll be heading out first."
Nine Clouds Media was the largest corporation in the entertainment industry, and its connections were all over the country. The Hall family itself wasn't short on connections. Their relations were complicated. Nobody dared to mess with Xavier.
Skylar was interrupted by them and thrown away by the man. She fell limp under Emmett's grasp. Seeing as there was no other way out, she stared up at Emmett charmingly and seductively. “I’m prettier than Alyssa. I suggest you don't waste your time trying to find her. Why don’t you sleep with me?”
Emmett retreated his hand in disgust, throwing her back onto the floor. He picked up a wine bottle and broke it into pieces. He put one piece of the glass on her face and threatened. “If you don't tell me, I'll cut open your face. Let's see if you'll continue to pride yourself on your looks then."
The glass was pressed on her face as if it could scratch her delicate cheeks at any time. Although a part of her was scared out of her mind, the thought of Alyssa going missing was enough to pull her back to the light.
Skylar’s lips curled up into a sadistic smile. “"And if I tell you, you think that would change a thing? She's currently being served by a group of men. Will you be interested in watching the show? Or do you intend to join them? You haven’t slept with her yet, have you? I'm sure they'll be willing to share a piece of her."
Not to mention Emmett, even Xavier couldn’t bear these words. Just as he was about to step forward and teach this shameless woman a lesson, Emmett growled. “Let’s see that!”
With that Emmett kicked Skylar away to the wall. She was so painful that she couldn’t cry out. There was even a still smile on her face as if she was already satisfied with the outcome.
After so long, she'd finally give Alyssa a taste of her own medicine.
She smiled and shuttered. “It’s too late… Those men would've already defiled her by now. She is ruined…” Property © of NôvelDrama.Org.
Tomorrow morning, Alyssa's face would be on the front of every magazine and social media outlet. The entire world would remember her name would fade into the background. That had been her plan this whole time. Even just the thought of it was enough for her to keep smiling.
Emmett looked at Skylar coldly. Although he had wanted to teach her a lesson, he didn't bother wasting his time with her now. Alyssa was still in danger, and at this point, every second counted.
After confirming that Alyssa and Hazel weren't in the banquet hall, the two men rushed out of the hall.
Frank had also arrived right on time, with his subordinates following right behind him.
"Mr. Lawrence, have you found Mrs. Lawrence?" Emmett had already informed him of the matter.
Emmett was worried about Alyssa. “Search every room one by one. Be quick.”
Frank 's expression turned serious.
After working with his boss for many years, he knew what kind of place Sky Light Club was. It was a place where the high and mighty could use their positions to their advantage as they mess with any woman they want. Alyssa had been missing for a long time...that could mean that she might've already fallen into a difficult situation.
However, he didn't say another word. Instead, he ordered his subordinates to carry out Emmett's orders, making sure that they didn't leave a corner unsearched.
Emmett didn't stand around either. "Let's split up. We'll be faster this way."
Sky Light Club wasn't a small place. It had multiple floors, each having about forty rooms each. Even with everyone searching for Alyssa, it was still difficult to find her in a place like this. No matter what room he had entered on the first floor, Emmett still found no trace of his wife.
When Xavier came over from the other end of the club, he saw Emmett standing at the end of the corridor. Half of his face was hidden in the shadows, and he could see his hands clenching into fists.
He had never seen him this worried before, at least, not in a long time.
Xavier walked over, patted Emmett’s shoulder and said, “I found those people.”
Emmett raised his head, and an indescribable emotion flashed in his features. "Let's go."
Xavier didn't waste any time as he brought him to the respective room.
Frank 's men had already surrounded the area, and as Emmett entered the room, he saw five naked men squatting on the floor. The bed was in a mess. And the room was filled with the smell of sex.
At the sight, Emmett’s expression became darker. He walked forward step by step in an aggressive manner. Those men who were arrogant before kept silent.
Frank took a step forward and whispered. “Mr. Lawrence, we didn't see Mrs. Lawrence when we came in. They said that she had jumped down from the balcony earlier, so I've sent a few of my men to look for her."
Jumped off the balcony?
Emmett looked at the men squatting on the ground. His gaze was sharp and cold that it was enough to scare one of the men into blabbering. He knelt down and came to Emmett with her knees. "We didn't touch the woman. She… she jumped down on her own! We didn't do anything to her. Please, let us go!"
They didn’t touch Alyssa? Then the smell of the room belonged to them. So did they sleep with…?
Xavier glanced at the blood stains on the sheets and felt his anus hurt.
Just then, the men who were assigned to look for Alyssa hurried back. "We didn't find any sign of Mrs. Lawrence."
The naked men didn't look like they were lying. With their lives at stake, they wouldn't dare lie, but that didn't mean Emmett could rule that possibility out. After all, they were selfish bastards who cared far more for their pleasure rather than for other people's safety.
No matter how many times they've begged, he didn't let Frank release them.
He walked to the balcony and looked down.
This was the seventh floor. If Alyssa jumped down from here, she would be paralyzed, or at worst she could even die…
Emmett clenched his fists and gritted his teeth. If something had happened to her, he'd surely never let
them go.
He looked down and looked at the balcony at each floor. “Search the corresponding rooms below this floor!”
It was obvious that the Moore family hated Alyssa from the start. The woman had really grown up in a toxic environment where everything she had done was hated on. She was abused and beaten, but she still lived well on her own.
She had an indescribable thirst for life. She’d be fine!
Carl and his men searched the first floor, while Frank had ordered their men to search the second floor.
On the other hand, Emmett took his men to the third floor.
They kicked the door open with no hesitation, and he didn't waste any time as he strode straight into the balcony.
The people on the room were having fun in the bathroom. When they heard the noise outside, they ran out and saw Emmett and his men. Their eyes widened in panic as he pointed at them. “Who are you? What are you doing?”
Emmett’s men locked him in the bathroom.
The cold breeze blew as Emmett looked around. Although the balcony was empty, there was a small hunch shivering behind the curtains. His eyebrows furrowed over as he took a step forward.
Could that be her?
Raising his hand, he pushed the curtains to the side.
There, in the corner, was a fragile woman curled up into a ball. She had already fallen into a semi- conscious state.
