Chapter 1327
"How about we take a walk in the garden, sweetie?" Nina suggested as she sat down next to her son, Orion.
At six or seven years old, he was at such a lively age. She hated having to keep him cooped up in the house, but it was necessary for his safety. If Orion were to run into danger again, there would be no guarantee he would come back. Those people wouldn't spare him just because he was young.
"Okay," Orion agreed, putting down his building blocks and standing up. He glanced over at Gemma, lying in her crib, and sighed. "I wish she could grow up faster so she could play with me."
"Once your dad catches those bad guys, you'll be able to go out with your friends again. And before you know it, your sister will be big enough to play with you," Nina said, taking his hand as they headed out to the garden.
Gemma was in good hands with their housekeeper, Mrs. Watson.
It was the perfect time of year, with most of the flowers in bloom. Orion had a wonderful time playing with Nina in the garden until he finally wore himself out after a couple of hours.
"Mom, I saw this really pretty flower. I want to take a picture of it so I can draw it later and hang it in my room!" Orion excitedly shared the little details of his day with Nina. It was small moments like these that built a life full of happiness.
Back in the living room, after all that talking, Orion's mouth was dry. Mrs. Watson brought over a bowl of soup for him. "Here you go, Orion. Have a little to soothe your throat."
"Thanks, Mrs. Watson," Orion replied politely as he took the bowl.
Just then, Nina's phone rang. She stepped aside to take the call, not wanting to wake Gemma, who was still napping. "Nash, is this about the lead on that group?"
"I've got the name of the
organization, but we're still tracking down their exact location. I'm in the middle of a meeting at the office and need a file from my study. It's in a blue folder in the drawer. Could you bring it over?" Nash's tone was gentle.
Nina didn't know exactly what was in the folder, but she could tell it was important. She went upstairs, found the blue folder, and sent him a photo to confirm. Once he confirmed she quickly changed into some workout clothes, grabbed the file, and headed downstairs.
"Mrs. Watson, I need to step out for a bit. Could you keep an eye on the kids?" Nina asked.C0pyright © 2024 Nôv)(elDrama.Org.
"Of course, ma'am," Mrs. Watson replied.
Before heading out, Nina turned to Orion. "Sweetheart, is there anything you'd like me to bring back for you?"
Orion's eyes lit up. "Can we get fast food? I want a burger, a fried chicken, and mashed potatoes!"
Orion was just a kid, after all, and he preferred fast food over home-cooked meals. Usually, Nina didn't indulge him too often. She knew that if he got used to too much
fast food, he might find regular
meats bland, and she didn't want him to develop picky eating habits or miss out on proper nutrition.
But things were a bit different these days. Since he had been cooped up at home for so long, he was feeling pretty restless. If some fast food would brighten his day, she didn't see any harm in making an exception.
