Chasing Back My Ex-wife

Chapter 48

Chapter 48

"Goodness, what a waste of talent that you're not an actress!" Chad crossed his arms, about to leave. "If I come across anyone casting for a damsel in distress, I'll be sure to grab you that role!"

However, just as he turned around—

Thud!

Lizbeth doubled up and fell to the ground. Content bel0ngs to Nôvel(D)r/a/ma.Org.

Even while she was in so much pain, she couldn't stop thinking about the scene at the hospital. The look of desire in Arthur's eyes as he embraced Lucy tightly. He couldn't have been faking that kind of dominance!

She was so very jealous, and she hated Lucy with all her heart. She felt the pain in her chest getting stronger and her eyelids felt so heavy that she couldn't lift them anymore.

Chad turned to look at her and quickly dialed 911. After hanging up, he muttered to himself, "Karma will deal with evil people at the right timing. I really believe it now. Oh, god almighty, I will believe in you from now on. Please watch over me!"

His words triggered her very much, but no words came out of Lizbeth's mouth as she pointed at him for a long time. She felt as though a large hand was squeezing her heart, and she fainted.

Seeing the ambulance arrive to save the day, Chad sighed, "You can never really get rid of evil."

...

At Lindbarry Chateau.

The atmosphere was gloomy. All the servants had their heads lowered and did not dare to speak.

Max reported his findings word by word, "After running investigations, Mrs. Johnson is not in any of the hospitals in A City. Hospital staff have not seen those two drivers either.

"We found the car owners according to the photos of their license plates taken by the police and the crowd, but the owners of the two cars and the two drivers who caused the accident were different people. Moreover, the owners have alibis to prove that they did not come anywhere near Lindbarry Chateau. The car plates were fake.

"The traffic bureau checked CCTV footage and found that the two drivers had been tailing Mrs. Johnson the whole way. It was a planned kidnapping. As of now, the police have issued an arrest warrant, but there is no progress so far."

Arthur sat on the sofa with his legs crossed, and he was holding his cup so tightly that his fingers were white at the tips.

If he hadn't left halfway, nothing would have happened to her that day!

"Sir, have a cup of tea." Aunty Julianne brought in a cup of tea and put it on the table. Then, she stood side and sighed softly.

Mrs. Johnson had such bad luck. First, she had gotten into a plane crash, and now, she had been

kidnapped. We didn't know what was going on!

Arthur did not touch the cup of tea. He suddenly stood up, looking very aggressive. "Tell the police to put up a reward. Anyone who offers clues will be given one million dollars. Also, spread the word to the underground that anyone who brings Lucy to me will be rewarded ten million!"

"Yes, sir." Max said and immediately went to carry out his orders.

Arthur didn't stay idle either. He immediately sent out a large number of his trusted subordinates to help him find Lucy. After that, he called Chad.

"Arthur, you don't have to worry about Lizbeth. She won't die, they saved her. Why are you calling? Is Lucy badly injured? Did you beat up those two drivers? Is Lucy..." Chad started rambling the moment he picked up.

Arthur interrupted him coldly and spoke much faster than usual. "Lucy has been kidnapped. Tell our pals that as long as they can help me find Lucy, I owe them a big favor!"

"Wh-what?!" Chad became tongue-tied from shock. "Why was she kidnapped? For money? Her body? Are you sure?"

"Don't ask so many questions and just do as I say." Arthur rubbed the spot between his eyebrows. Although it was a hot and dry summer night, he felt as if he was in a cold storage. Even his blood was almost frozen in his veins.

Losing Lucy the first time, he had nearly driven himself mad.

If he lost her again, he couldn't guarantee that he wouldn't start a bloodbath!

"Okay. Arthur, don't worry too much. Everyone in City A fears you. You will definitely find Lucy latest by tomorrow!"

Arthur hung up, thought for a moment, and called Kylah. It was always good to have another helping hand in finding Lucy.

...

With her own eyes, Lucy saw the two men drive to a deserted area with no surveillance cameras. Then, they wore gloves, ripped out the old car plates, and threw them away under the cover of night.

Under the two car plates, there were two brand new ones!

"Ron, her leg is injured. Should we take her to a hospital to get it treated?" The thin man asked the fat man.

Ron slapped him on the head and said, "Are you out of your mind? Our license plates are fake, but our faces are real! Aren't you afraid of being caught by the police at the hospital?"

"Then what should we do now?"

"Go find a first-aid kit and bandage her up. She won't die!"

After discussing with each other, they got into the same car and drove to a hut in the hills where they locked Lucy up.

Afraid that she might run away or make a scene, they found a rope and tied her to a chair.

Lucy was still dizzy right then, but she felt much better than when they had hit her car. She asked weakly, "Why did you kidnap me?"

"We..." As soon as the thin man opened his mouth, Ron cut him off. "Troy, don't talk to her! She's just trying to get information out of you!"

Troy glanced at Lucy and suddenly stepped forward. He brushed her hair aside and looked at her carefully. "I couldn't see how you looked like in the dark. You're quite beautiful!"

His gaze travelled downwards, and he glanced at her fair neck like a pervert. He smiled nastily. "Ron, seems like we've hit the jackpot this time! When that lady said she'd let us do it, I thought it would be an ugly woman, but she's actually quite pretty!"

The word "lady" instantly made Lucy sober up. She didn't offend anyone no matter in the business world or her private life.

If it came to a lady she had offended, then there was none other than Lizbeth!

"When have I ever gotten us a lame job?" Ron smiled arrogantly and smacked Troy on the head. "Hurry up and get a first-aid kid to bandage her wounds. If she suddenly dies, it'll be such a turn-off!"

"Hehe, I'll bandage her right now." Troy eyed Lucy's slim legs and swallowed. He felt his body heating up.

He quickly ran to fetch the first-aid kit and walked to Lucy again, intending to treat her wounds. "It's in the middle of summer. Don't you feel hot wearing two layers of clothing?"

Ron looked at the bruises on her skin and felt a little shocked. Then, he smiled evilly. "Hey woman, you look pretty alluring wearing so less. You'd better show us a good time later!"
