Chapter 1039
Aurora was stunned by Theodore's excellent act. He refused to speak a word about what he did last night when he was clearly with Rosalie. His reluctance to say anything to her made it clear that he was trying to hide something from her.
Yet, Aurora knew that she couldn't expose him. There was a veil between them that if she tore away, nothing would be left between them.
At the very least, Theodore was now still willing to keep up appearances with her.
If the day were to come when he wasn't even willing to do that, that would be when things become impossible between them. Aurora had no choice but to feign ignorance.
Theodore noticed that Aurora didn't look well, and reached out to caress her forehead.
"Aurora, what's the matter? Are you ill?"
Aurora shook her head.
"No. Oh yes," she exclaimed, changing the subject. "How are things with Sebastian?"
Theodore sighed. "It's as if he received a tip-off and fled to Blencalgo just in time."
Aurora's heart leaped. "What? He fled? Then...what should we do? Will the Melrine police send their forces to nab him?"
Theodore shook his head. "They won't. Blencalgo and Melrine don't have an extradition agreement, and both countries aren't exactly close in relationship. The only thing we can do is to negotiate with Blencalgo to hand Sebastian over."
Aurora asked with furrowed brows, "Will Blencalgo agree to that?"
Theodore smirked. "They basically won't. Sebastian is pretty influential in Blencalgo, so the people there won't hand him over so easily." "What...what can we do, then? Is there no other way?" Aurora asked anxiously.
"Not for now, unless he eventually leaves Blencalgo," Theodore said.
"But if Sebastian really knows what we have over him, he will never leave Blencalgo."
"There's nothing we can do now, either way." Theodore had turned numb.
Aurora, looking upset, said, "How did things turn out this way? How did Sebastian even come to know about it? Did someone really tip him off?"
"That's what I think," Theodore said solemnly Sebastian might have planted a spy by my side who told him about my every move. I have to investigate and see who leaked the information."
He and Aurora weren't the only ones who knew about the pinhole camera.
Aurora's heart leaped. Fear flashed past the depths of her eyes.
She must never let Theodore know that she was the one who deliberately leaked the information to Sebastian.
"Yes, you must find out who it is. It's so scary how insidious Sebastian is. Oh, yes, could it be...?" Aurora paused.
"Could it be what?" Theodore pursued.
"Actually, I wanted to say... Forget it."
"What's the matter? It's fine, just speak your mind." Theodore was worried that she might get upset keeping things to herself.
"Theo, don't get mad at what I'm about to say," Aurora said.
Helpless, Theodore replied, "If you think I'll get mad, you can choose not to tell me about it."
Aurora's face stiffened.
"Theo, I..." She looked pitiful as she
lowered her head, as if she had done something wrong. "Could this have anything to do with Mrs. Carter?NôvelDrama.Org copyrighted © content.
Sebastian is her husband, after all."
"How could that be?" Theodore's brows furrowed. "Rose doesn't know about this. How could she remind Sebastian about it?"
Aurora knew he would say that.

"Theo, have you considered this? Your ex-wife knows you very well, and could have guessed what you would do She then decided to remind her husband just in case. Think about it. Was there anything that felt suspicious to you?" Aurora prodded.
