Chapter 42 There's A Huge Generation Gap

Rose looked at them and vice versa.

Hallie Hill raised her hand to greet both, "You are back, come here."

The two came over and sat aside, but their attention was paid on Rose.

"Zoe and Stefan, she's your second sister-in-law, Rose Linder." Hallie Hill introduced them to each other, "Rose, she's my daughter Zoe Hill. He's my youngest son Stefan Lee. And they are all in college now, one is a freshman and the other is a sophomore. You guys come and say hello."

"Nice to meet you, Rose." said Stefan in a white shirt, neat and tidy. He's a little bit shy and cutie.

Zoe was more overjoyed than unexpected and asked, "When did second eldest brother get married? I didn't even know that!"

"Zoe, it's your brother's decision, don't be impolite." Hallie scolded her daughter softly, "Come and greet Rose."

"Good to see you, Rose." Zoe greeted unwillingly.

"Don't be like this if you don' wanna do that." There were footsteps upstairs and followed with a cold voice. That's Bright with a cold expression.

"Brother." Zoe quickly stood up and called him in a bell-like and cheerful voice.

"Brother." said Stefan.

Bright just responded lightly, then walked towards Rose and naturally hold her hand, "Let's go home."

"My brother, you finally came back once. Could you just stay here overnight and spend more time with dad?" Zoe felt lost when she saw Bright leaving.

"It would be nice to have you and Stefan here." Bright had rarely stayed overnight in Lee's villa since he moved to Ginkgo Villa. "I won't stay here to bother dad. Out of sight, out of mind."

After that, Bright intended to hold Rose's hand and leave. Meanwhile though, Hallie called Rose, "Rose, your gift."

Rose was about to take the gift while Bright picked it up faster. With a glance, he finally placed it on the coffee table.

"Just tell me and I'll give everything you want. It's not proper to disturb our Auntie like this." said Bright in a reproachful but spoiled tone.

Rose nodded slightly and looked back at Hallie with sorry.

Being rejected by Bright, Hallie seemed to feel awkward and smiled in an embarrassment, "It's just a small gift for Rose."

"Yeah brother, my mom really wanna make Rose feel at home. Can you just take it?" Stefan felt sorry for his mother.

"Brother, mom didn't give it to me even though I asked for that. She cherishes Rose so much, how can you reject kindness of mom?" Zoe blamed on Bright, but she seemed to be dissatisfied with Rose.

"I'll give you if you like." Bright handed the skincare products to Zoe, then looked at Hallie, "We appreciate for your kindness and your gift. Farewell."

Then Bright took Rose away. Rose was so embarrassed that she said goodbye to Hallie and siblings, "Thank you Auntie, bye-bye."

"Come back often when you're available." Hallie stood by the side of the sofa clasping hands in front of her body with dignity and elegance.

After they left, Zoe stepped forward and supported Hallie to sit down, "Mom, you are partial to her. You give the skincare products to Rose, am I your biological daughter or not? Why I feel like being an outsider?"

"No nonsense Zoe. Rose is your second eldest brother's wife as well as a member of Lee family. Your dad will be mad at your words if he's here." Hallie scolded her naive daughter with a stern face.

"Mom, I don't like her." Zoe Hill showed an extreme unpleasantness on her face when Hallie being a lot partial.

"It doesn't matter whether you like her or not. What matters is that both Bright and your dad likes her." Hallie Hill reminded her again, "Be careful of your words."

"Mom, brother is quite excellent with amount of followers. Why did he choose Rose and even marry her?" Zoe Hill was so jealous and not reconciled to the fact that Rose Linder was perfectly pretty.

"Zoe, speaking of the reason, it must be some of Rose's qualities that attract brother. Anyway, I like her. Cause she's gentle, pretty and meant to be together with brother." Stefan and Zoe Hill had apparent different opinions on Rose.

"What are you saying? Meant to be together? Go away!" Zoe Hill stared at her younger brother discontentedly.

Stefan grabbed an apple and went upstairs.

Zoe continued, "Mom, Miss Kim is about back to China. Everyone knows how much she loves brother Bright. She will definitely not let Rose to live in peace."

"It has nothing to do with you. You just focus on your business." said Hallie Hill seriously, "Just so you know, we are a family."

"Mom……"

"Alright, I'm tired and going to bed." Hallie Hill interrupted her daughter.

"Mom, I'm gotta take this set of skincare products." Zoe Hill picked up the bag.

Hallie Hill nodded, and then went upstairs.

After leaving Lee's villa, on the way of driving home, both Bright and Rose said nothing tacitly.

Rose Linder leaned against the car window, looking sideways at the night scene of floating light. A glimmer fell on her hair and turned into a faint halo. It finally fell into her eyes and turned into a colorful aurora.

When Bright stopped the car at the hotel, Rose unfastened the seat belt and said, "Thank you."

"That should be my turn to thank you." The half darkness of night portrayed Bright into a much more defined face.

"I hope you keep your word. No next time." Rose got out of the car, "Drive home safely and have a good rest. Bye."

Bright watched her turn around and walk towards the hotel. At the moment, her slender figure with thick and long-curly hair made Rose more feminine at every step.

He turned back and drove away until she's out of sight. The car turned a round along with the fountain, while and a tiny figure flashed ahead.

All of a sudden, he pulled the car over, then got out and strode to the fountain.

Sitting along with the fountain was a cute little girl holding a little panda doll in her arms. She's exquisite like a real doll in a beautiful dress, white long socks, and small red leather shoes.

"Doris?" Bright tried to get her attention, then slowly squatted down.

The little girl also raised her eyes and looked at him, "Uncle Handsome?"

"Why are you here alone? Where's your mom?" Bright held her small hand in his wide palm.

"My mom went ... to go shopping. I'm just sitting here to wait for her." Doris reacted in a minute and changed the words from "business trip" to "go shopping".

"Why did you come here?" Bright remembered they lived in City Y.

"There will be a concert of Burning Boys tomorrow in City J. My mom promised to take me to the live show of Dougie. I super love him. And I really wanna give him flowers, take photos with him and receive his autograph..."

What are exactly Burning boys?

He didn't understand even a word.

"I won't blame you if you don't understand, cause there's a huge generation gap between you and me." Doris patted his shoulder to comfort him.

"..." With the title of CEO Lee, however, he's been ashamed of a little girl.Original from NôvelDrama.Org.
