Chapter 56 Endless Blind Dates
Chapter 56 Endless Blind Dates
He suddenly stood up, his eyes fixed on me, and his voice sounded like he was questioning me.
I looked away in a panic. I didn't know why, but every time I looked into this man's questioning eyes, I
couldn't help but panic, as if I had done something wrong to him.
"I know, but I'm not young anymore. My parents has been urging me to find a boyfriend to get married.
They were aging, and I don't want them to worry about me anymore."
I remembered that every time my parents called me, they urged me to find a boyfriend. Although I'm
not into anyone now, I didn't want them to be anxious for such a thing.
After hearing what I said, Brandon didn't say anything more. He just stared at me with his dark eyes.
"You can look for a boyfriend, but before you get one, we still keep our relationship!"
Hearing his words, I was a little annoyed. I was going to refuse him, but I couldn't say it. After all, I took
200,000 dollars from him. If I just ended the relationship like this after taking his money, it would be too
impolite and rude.
"That's settled then. After I get myself a boyfriend, our relationship will be over."
In fact, I felt much more relaxed. After all, he didn't force me. Our sexual relationship was based on
willingness.
"Okay."
He gave me a deep look, then lay down sideways and stopped looking at me.
I heaved a long sigh of relief and felt much more relieved. I kept thinking that I must find a suitable
husband as soon as possible.
Having finally spilled my heart out, I fell asleep quickly.
When I woke up the next day, Brandon was not in the room. Feeling a little disappointed, I put on my
clothes and left.
Once I found a boyfriend, we two would be strangers. So I shouldn't have any feelings towards him.
For the next few days, my primary mission was to get a boyfriend. I went on blind dates everyday after
work.
Love was a luxury for me now. I had loved someone for so many years, while all I got in return was
betrayal. I didn't believe in love anymore.
I just wanted to find a man who can live a stable life with me, and most importantly, let my parents stop
worrying about me all the time.
Since I told Evie about it, she kept arranging blind dates for me. She wanted to find a suitable man for
me too.
However, most of my blind dates didn't go well. They were either quite ugly, or the perverted kind who
wanted to have sex me even on our first date.
Even though I wasn't looking for true love, I still wanted to find someone comfortable-looking. I didn't
want an ugly boyfriend or a perverted guy. I couldn't stand these.
Over the last few days, I was very busy working and attending blind dates. I was always quite
exhausted when I got home at night. All I did was sleep.
In recent days, Brandon seemed to be have disappeared from my life. He hadn't contacted me for quite
a few days. Sometimes I wondered if he had forgotten me or he had found a new lover who could
replace me.
Although I was a little disappointed, but at the same time, I felt glad. If he had really found a new lover
and forgot about me, it would be good for us to end our relationship like this.
When I got home from work yesterday, I was so tired that I directly went to my bedroom, closed my
eyes and wanted to have a good sleep.
But lately, sleep was a luxury to me too. I was just drifting off into sleep when Evie came into my room
and shook me awake.
"Hollie, get up quickly. I have arranged a blind date for you today. If you don't go now, it will be too late.
You can't let him wait too long."
Evie shook me hard and urged me.
I had been having blind dates for several days in a row. I was frustrated, to say the least. I had a
headache just hearing the words "blind date".
"Evie, do I have to go today? I'm really tired. I want to rest for a day."
The workload for a big company like Grizzlimited was already pretty heavy normally. I hadn't had any
rest in the past few days. I felt exhausted.
"No! I've already made an appointment with him. How can you go back on your word? You must go
today!"
Evie, being a simple-minded woman, didn't let me go so easily. She pulled at me harder.
"I don't think it's gonna work out anyway, so it doesn't matter whether I go or not. Please leave me
alone today."
I forced myself to sit up. After a helpless sigh, I looked at her and spoke in a serious tone.
"You haven't even seen him yet. Why do you think it won't work out? Hollie, it's you who said you
wanted to find a boyfriend. Where's your passion now?" Têxt © NôvelDrama.Org.
Evie wasn't giving up. She looked at me with an angry smile on her face. I knew that if I didn't go today,
she would get angry.
But it had been several days, and the blind dates were getting worse and worse. I really felt that it was
a waste of time.
It seemed that it was really difficult to find a suitable boyfriend to get married.
"Evie, you've seen the men from a few days ago. They're either ugly or perverted. I'm not interested in
blind dates at all now."
It was one thing to be ugly, but I drew the line at being perverted. The kind of men who would molest
me on a first date was absolutely not the good kind. I would rather stay single for the rest of my life than
marry a man like that.
Hearing my complaints, Evie smiled awkwardly, as if she knew what kind of people she had introduced
to me these days were.
"I know you're not into those men, but I'm sure you'll like this one tonight. He's pretty good, and
definitely not the perverted kind. I think you'll like him. Hollie, just give it another go. I guarantee you'll
be satisfied, okay?"
Evie still didn't want to give up. It seemed that she was very confident in the man she had arranged for
me tonight.
"Evie, I really don't want to go. I'm so tired."
I looked at Evie with a pout, hoping that she would show mercy and spare me tonight.
Even though she had piled me with guarantees, I still had no hope. All the good men in this world
already have a girlfriend. I didn't stand a chance.
