Chapter 81 A Considerate Man
Chapter 81 A Considerate Man
"If something like this happens again, you will be fired!"
Brandon glanced at me coldly, threw out these words, and walked back to his office.
I glared at his back angrily, and the anger in my heart was burning. He was obviously deliberately
targeting me.
Other colleagues also had boyfriends who sent flowers, but he never got angry at them and never
asked them to throw the flowers out. He only treated me like this. He had gone too far.
After Brandon returned to his office, Aubrey looked at me with sympathy.
"Hollie, the president looked so scary when he was angry just now."
"Anyone could get angry,"
I sat down on my seat and muttered.
I was in a pretty good mood at the start of the day, but that was all ruined because of what just
happened.
"Alas, it's such a pity you had to throw away those beautiful roses."
Aubrey looked at the roses in the trash can with a pitiful look.
I followed her gaze. The more I thought about it, the angrier I became. I didn't care about the bunch of
roses. I just cared about Brandon targeting me.
He just scolded me in front of the entire department. I was very angry and a little aggrieved.
It wasn't even a big deal. Why did he have to target me like this?
"Forget it. I don't want to talk about this anymore. It makes me annoyed."
I looked away and stopped thinking about it.
Because of what happened in the morning, I was in a bad mood all day. Brandon seemed to Belonging © NôvelDram/a.Org.
deliberately target me and arranged a lot of work for me.
I worked the whole day. I didn't even have time to eat at noon. I worked until I got off work in the
evening.
My colleagues were getting off work one after another, but I still had a few documents that had not
been sorted out. I took a look in the direction of the president's office and continued to work.
Finally, after working overtime for an hour to sort out the documents, I stretched and tidied up the
documents on the table. I looked at the president's office and found that the lights were still on.
I wanted to say goodbye, but I thought about what happened this morning and decided not to. I turned
around and left.
When I came downstairs, a familiar figure appeared. It was Dylan.
He was standing on the ground floor of the company, and his car was parked not far away. Seeing him
suddenly appear here, I was shocked. After calming down, I walked toward him.
"Why are you here, Dylan?"
I walked up to Dylan and asked with a faint smile.
"We haven't seen each other for a long time. You have been working overtime recently, so I want to
come here to see you."
Dylan also had a smile on his elegant face, and his voice was gentle.
"Sorry, I've been really busy recently, so I had to refuse every time you called me."
I looked at Dylan awkwardly and explained guiltily.
In fact, I wasn't actually working overtime every day recently. I refused Dylan because I didn't know
how to get along with him.
My relationship with Brandon was still quite ambiguous. I felt selfish keeping up the relationship with
Dylan as a backup.
"It's alright. We've seen each other today anyway. You must be hungry after working overtime so late.
Let's go eat together."
Hearing his invitation, a trace of hesitation flashed across my heart, but in the end, I agreed.
I nodded and said nothing. Dylan came up to me and took my hand.
I took my hand back immediately as soon as I felt his touch, and my expression became panicked.
We had known each other for a period of time, but we haven't even held hands. His sudden touch
today made me uncomfortable.
Seeing such a big reaction, Dylan's expression froze and he looked very embarrassed.
"I'm sorry for offending you."
Dylan was a gentle man. Although it was my fault just now, he still apologized first. He was always very
polite.
"No, it's me, I'm sorry. I just haven't had any physical contact with the opposite sex lately, so I'm a little
uncomfortable."
I lowered my gaze and explained awkwardly.
"It's alright, I can understand. But we are dating now. If we can't even hold hands, I feel a little strange."
Although Dylan had a gentle smile on his face, I could feel that he was still a little unhappy.
Not only him, but any other man would be angry. He had already done a good job hiding his anger.
I looked into his eyes and hesitated for a moment. Then I took his hand.
It was just holding hands anyway, it wasn't a big deal. I used to hold hands with boys when I was a
child.
For the first time, I took the initiative to close the distance between us. I didn't feel anything, but Dylan
seemed a little excited.
The two of us walked towards his car hand-in-hand.
We arrived at a French restaurant, where Dylan had already placed a reservation for two before he
came to meet me.
We sat face to face. Although we were dating, we didn't have much to say to each other when we were
together. The awkwardness between us was palpable.
Fortunately, the food was soon served. I could use the meal to cover up my embarrassment.
I cut into the steak in front of me. Just as I was about to eat, Dylan handed me his steak, which had
been cut into pieces.
"Eat mine. I've cut it for you."
With a faint smile on the corner of his mouth, Dylan looked at me with gentle eyes.
It would be a lie if I said I wasn't touched by his considerate gesture.
Even though I didn't like him in the romantic sense, I was still impressed by his consideration.
"Thank you."
I didn't stand on ceremony with him. After thanking him, I began to eat.
Halfway through the meal, Dylan called out my name. I looked up and found that he was holding a
glass of red wine. He had made his meaning clear.
Although I usually didn't drink, and I got drunk easily, I didn't refuse. I picked up the glass and clinked it
against his, and then raised my head to drink.
I drank too quickly and choked slightly. I felt tears coming out of my eyes as I coughed.
"Hollie, are you okay?"
Seeing that I kept coughing, Dylan quickly handed a tissue to me and asked with concern.
"No... nothing. I'm just not used to drinking."
I coughed as I spoke.
