Chapter 557 Hypnotherapy
Chapter 557 Hypnotherapy
Inside the car.
Amanda and Elias returned to the car with Aiden in their arms, both looking unhappy.
Seeming to notice their emotions, Aiden asked, “Daddy and Mommy, why aren’t you happy? Didn’t we get first place?”
“No, we’re very happy. Your daddy and I are just a little tired. Are you tired? Take a nap, and I’ll wake you up when we get home,” Amanda said with a smile.
Aiden nodded. “Okay, I’m a little sleepy, so I’ll take a nap.”
Not long after. Aiden fell asleep, and the sound of even breathing could be heard.
She looked back at the sleeping child and finally relaxed.
“Dear, cany you please stop competing with Symeon in public like that? He’s deliberately trying to make you angry and lose control. Why bother paying attention to him?”
Elias gripped the steering wheel and replied, “Who wants to be bothered with him? But what can I do if I lose my temper?”
Amanda sighed. “I don’t know when he’ll be willing to return to his country, but if we keep going like this. we’ll lose so much business.”
Talking about work, Elias suddenly remembered that Symeon had previously mentioned that Amanda had approached him.
After hesitating for a while, he decided to ask, “You… Did you go to see Symeon about the bidding documents?”
Though Amanda originally planned to confess to him later, she didn’t expect him to know about it.
“Um… Yes. I’m sorry. I had planned to tell you about it later. I know I shouldn’t have interfered with the company’s affairs and that such a method isn’t honorable, but I really wanted to share your burden. I’m sorry. I shouldn’t have acted on my own and won’t do it again in the future.”
She waited for Elias to scold her, but there was only endless silence..
Amanda raised her head and looked at the man driving beside her, asking in confusion, “Why aren’t you scolding me?”
“Why would I scold you? In the end, it’s still because of my incompetence. If I could handle everything. well, you wouldn’t have to worry and take matters into your own hands. I have no right to scold you.”
Elias let out a self-deprecating laugh, but it only made Amanda feel even more heartbroken. Text © 2024 NôvelDrama.Org.
While glancing at the man’s profile, she assured him, “Dear, don’t say that. You are already under a lot of pressure. The entire family’s burden is on your shoulders, and you’re fighting alone. It’s already difficult.”
Elias held her hand with his free one and smiled. “Honey, you’re the best.”
Amanda pretended to be angry and pulled her hand back. “So, do you have anything going on with Miss Carter, or were Symeon’s words just trying to sow discord?”
With a frown, Elias spoke firmly, “Honey, I only love you, so there’s no need to doubt that. If I have even the slightest infidelity, then let me get into another car accident like last time.”
Amanda was scared and scolded him. “What nonsense are you talking about? If you say one more word of nonsense. I’ll divorce you!”
“I dare you to say it again. I will never give you another chance to divorce me.”
However, Amanda burst into sweet laughter, which was pleasant to hear.
In the evening.
Dulcie was almost asleep when Symeon came to pick her up.
The doorbell rang, and Casey went to open the door. The man walked into the house and said, “Thank you for taking care of her. I’m taking her home.”
Then, Symeon went straight to the bedroom and picked up the sleeping Dulcie. Casey was a bit worried and said, “If you’re busy at night in the future, you can leave Dulcie with me. I can take care of her.”
“No, thank you. I have a nanny at home, and I recently hired a preschool teacher. I feel more at ease with her taking care of Dulcie.”
Symeon was merciless with his words and left with Dulcie in his arms, not even giving Casey another glance.
Watching the door close, Casey felt empty inside, as if she had already gotten used to the little one chattering around her.
Now that she was alone in the rented house, she felt a bit lonely.
Early morning the next day.
It was the weekend, so Casey didn’t have to go to work. She decided to seek treatment from a psychologist:
She wanted to know why she had lost those memories.
Despite having given birth, she had no recollection of that. Moreover, it wasn’t amnesia, but it seemed more like she had been brainwashed.
After entering the psychologist’s office, she was the day’s first patient, so she had plenty of time with the psychologist.
“Miss Carter, please have a seat and tell me about your problem. I’m all ears.”
Sitting half reclining on the couch, she began to tell the psychologist about her problem.
After listening, the psychologist suggested, “You can try hypnotherapy. Since some things have actually happened, but you have no memory of them, it may be related to the trauma you experienced before, causing you to forget many things selectively.”
“Hypnotherapy? Does it work?”
“Try it, and you’ll know. If it’s really amnesia, we might be able to awaken some of your memories.”
With a ding, the psychologist said. “Go to sleep. We’ll meet in your dreams.”
Suddenly, Casey felt very sleepy, so she lay down on the couch and fell asleep for real, then entered at strange dream.
The world in the dream was white. Casey kept walking forward, and as she walked, she entered a hospital where a newborn baby was crying loudly.
A baby? Why would there be the sound of a baby crying?
Then, she saw a woman standing outside the operating room, pacing back and forth, muttering. “That d*mn girl is really something. How dare she get pregnant? There’s no way I’ll let her have that baby. If you give birth to the child, you’ll have to ride on our heads in the future.”
As she approached, she unexpectedly found that the muttering woman was her stepinother, Eleanor.
Suddenly, the operating room door opened, and a nurse came out carrying a baby, saying to Eleanor, “Congratulations, it’s a beautiful baby girl, weighing about 8 lbs. Her mother will be coming out soon.”
Holding the baby in her arms, Eleanor turned red with anger. “B*tch! You actually gave birth. I pushed you down the stairs, but you still managed to give birth to the child safely. How could you be so lucky?”
Pushed down the stairs?
At that moment, a middle-aged woman was crying and wailing outside another operating room. Her grandson died shortly after being born, and she was devastated.
Eleanor approached the woman, appearing to recognize her. Without hesitation, she handed over the baby she was holding and proposed, “If you help me get rid of this child, I will provide you with a substantial amount of money to ensure a comfortable life for the rest of your days. What do you think?”
The middle-aged man hesitated briefly before accepting the baby from Eleanor and nodded in agreement.
