Chapter 143: Bodyguards Are not Needed

After dinner, Cathy drove home with Matt to pick up the children's daily necessities.

Although the evening incident was unexpected, but she made her attitude clear, and she was relaxed a lot, facing him she finally can calm down. The car was on the road, and the night was getting dark outside the window.

Cathy drove her car closely behind Matt's car, and the mobile phone screen next to her suddenly lit up, followed by the sound of vibration.

She was stunned, glanced at it for two seconds, deadpan, and then continued to look ahead, seemingly not intending to answer.NôvelDrama.Org © content.

But after a dozen seconds, she reached for it and put it on her ear.

She said in a slightly annoyed tone, "Tyrone, do you still want me to pull you into blacklist?"

"I don't bother you when you work. Why don't you answer after work?" The man's tone is light, without any meaning of questioning, but she can clearly feel his dissatisfaction.

Cathy sneered, "I just don't want to answer it, I have to give you a reason?"

In case she would be so angry that lost control of her mood and turned the brake on as an accelerator. She blocked him first. "I'm driving. Are you sure you're going to keep chatting with me?"

There was silence for a few seconds, and the man's voice was low and gentle. "Then I'll call back. Drive carefully. But, don't drive any more when you go out. If you are afraid of inconvenience, I'll ask Rory to take you to and from work."

Cathy grasped the steering wheel, pink lips tightened, eyes illuminated by the light ahead which flashed complex light.

Knowing the concern in his words, she was as cold as ever. "I can't afford it. I don't have the money to hire 24-hour bodyguards, let alone you hire it for me."

"Ca..."

"Beep...

Cathy did not know what to say. She pressed the loudspeaker to stop what he wanted to say.

Tyrone did not speak any more. "Be careful. Call me when you get home."

Cathy remained silent, her lips pressed dead until he hung up the phone.

After tidying up things at Matt's home, Cathy went back alone with Mila in her arms. The little girl did not make any noise. She followed her home quietly.

It wasn't too late to get home. When Cathy's mother saw Mila, she was a little stunned. "This is?"

Cathy put down her bag, changed her shoes and explained, "Matt is very busy recently. I'll take care of her for a while."

Cathy's mother did not know what she was thinking. She twisted her eyebrows and said nothing.

"Why haven't you slept yet?"

"No, talk to your dad for a while." Cathy's mother caressed Mila's little hand.

Cathy froze a moment when she heard his words and blinked her eyes. "Why is his spirit so good today?"

After so many days of recuperation, although physically her father was not good, but he was able to speak more and more fluently, but now he has become very few words, he was not talkative as before. "Good?" Cathy's mother shook her head sadly, and then moved toward the living room sofa and sat down.

Cathy was quiet for two seconds. She poured two glasses of water and went over and asked, "Mom, what's wrong?"

Cathy's mother stared at Cathy's father's bedroom for a moment and said slowly, "Although he did not say it, I can see that he was not in good spirits, but unable to sleep. He had something on his mind." Usually, during the day, he slept and woke up from time to time. Although he doesn't speak much, his mood was very good. But today, she massaged him for half a day. He neither slept nor spoke. He just stared out of the window and was absent-minded.

Cathy bowed her head and fed the child water. Her eyes changed slightly. She looked at her and laughed. "Haven't all things on his mind been told in court? What else he can hide? Isn't he staying with you every day now? Maybe you think too much."
