Ex-husband's Sweet Trap

Chapter 41: A Long And Happy Life

Chapter 41: A Long And Happy Life

"Grandma, don't say that. You're very healthy, how could you..."

Luz shut up halfway. Mrs Maynard was really good to her. She sincerely wished that she could live a

long and happy life.

"Luz, I know you care about me. Don't worry, I'll be fine, I just need some rest."

The old lady held her hand as she spoke. Luz was stunned for a moment. Did grandma really not need

to go to the hospital?

"I've had this problem for some time already, I know it'll pass after a good night's rest."

After the old lady's repeated hints, Henry reluctantly opened his mouth. Only a stupid woman like Luz

could be so thick to fall for this. Content © provided by NôvelDrama.Org.

"Really? That's great."

Luz believed it. There were many servants in the Maynard Family, so she knew that grandma would be

taken care of properly. She just wanted to make sure that she was really fine, but before she could feel

relieved, she heard the old lady say, "Luz, I haven't spoken to you for so long. How about you stay over

here tonight with little Logan? You'll be great company for a lonely old lady like me."

"..."

All of a sudden, she felt as if she had been tricked.

"Grandma, I..."

"Luz, am I too old to chat with you?"

The old lady had already had a complete strategy. Before Luz could answer, she had already sealed

her way out.

"No, Grandma, how could I dislike you?"

"That's settled then. You can stay and chat with grandma tonight." The old lady slapped her thigh. From

the sound of it, she didn't seem like a frail old lady anymore.

There was no choice but to stay. Luz was trying to think of an excuse to persuade Logan to stay for the

night, but she was spared because Logan actually believed that the old lady was feeling unwell. He

even told her solemnly, "Mommy, don't worry, you're a kind person. I'll respect you for that."

"..."

When the Old Madam saw that her plan had succeeded, she beamed. She knew that Luz wasn't really

that easily fooled. She might not have seen through her acting in the heat of the moment, but she'd

come back to her senses in a while. In that case, she wouldn't need to keep up the act anymore.

"Grandma, that's low."

Henry said as a servant brought the mother and son duo to their room upstairs.

"Low? You're low for having that press conference. I know you've never forgotten about Luz even after

all these years, that's why you held that press conference to get her back to you. Don't worry, we have

the same intentions. We can team up."

The old lady patted her grandson's shoulder. A grown-up person would know what boredom was. At

her age, there were too many boring things to talk about. Naturally, she had to find something to do to

not be bored.

Henry was exasperated. The reason why he held the press conference was to make Declan Carver

back off of his woman, to let him know that even though Luz was divorced from him, she still had no

right to find her own happiness as long as Henry had a say in it.

Upstairs, Luz was taken to Henry's bedroom. Looking at the familiar decoration and furniture in front of

her, she couldn't help blushing. Seven years ago, she had changed from a girl to a woman in this room.

Logan had also been conceived in this room.

Seven years later, nothing had changed in Henry's bedroom.

She subconsciously looked at the wall at the head of the bed, and the smile on her lips disappeared.

No, there was still something different. Their wedding photo, with her in a wedding dress and sporting a

dumb smile, had disappeared from the wall at the head of their bed. The wall had been upholstered

where it used to hang.

It perfectly covered all the marks from the past.

"What's wrong? Are you so happy that you don't know what to say?"

When Henry's cold voice sounded from behind her, Luz smoothed over the expression so that he

wouldn't see her loss and sadness from earlier.

"Mr Maynard, you must be joking. I don't even remember this place."

Seven years had passed. She should have forgotten it a long time ago.

Obviously, this answer made Henry dissatisfied. He narrowed his eyes slightly as if there was a storm

brewing inside.

Did she just say she had forgotten everything?

Very good!

"What are you doing?"

Shocked by his stormy eyes, Luz asked warily. Henry Maynard was a dangerous man. She never knew

what he would do from one moment to another.

His tall figure pressed down on her suddenly, pinning her onto the bed. His sculpted jaw brushed over

her chest purposefully, making her catch her breath for fear that their unspeakable parts would make

contact.

"Let go of me, you lunatic."

She struggled but was stopped by Henry almost immediately. "I thought you said you'd forgotten about

this place. Since you don't remember what we've done before, I should help you refresh your memory."

He had taken her many times before on this bed. He never knew how it started or how it ended, but he

knew that he liked it. He liked her body, her smell, her warmth.

Luz was so scared that her face turned pale. She instinctively wanted to escape, but she was pinned

down on the bed with nowhere to go, like a lamb awaiting slaughter. She had no way to escape from

Henry.

"It's been seven years, and you still smell the same."

He lowered his head and sniffed her neck. There was a clear desire in his eyes. The scent of a

woman's body would change. Different perfumes would have different smells, but when the fragrance

was gone, the original smell of her body would be revealed. The smell was unique and would not

change for the rest of her life.

"You're crazy, Henry. We're divorced."

She forcibly reminded Henry that they had already divorced seven years ago. Their marriage had

ended. If he did anything to her, it would be a crime, and she had every right to sue him for it.

"A divorce? Are you stupid? Today, everyone in North CIty knows that we are married and we have a

seven-year-old son. Do you think I should be happy to be a father?"

This was a thorn in his heart that she should never have touched. The lust in Henry's eyes deepened

with a hint of anger. He couldn't believe that this woman thought she could go around seducing other

men just because they were divorced.

As long as he had anything to say about it, she would never be in the arms of another man.

When Luz heard the words "be a father", she felt as if she had been punched hard in the gut. That

nightmarish nights seven years ago seemed to resurface in front of her eyes. It was the same scene,

same bed, same two people facing each other.
