Fell Into His Love Trap (Skylar and Tobias)

Chapter 722 I Envy You A Lot

Chapter 722 I Envy You A Lot

She had seen many extras with such makeup when she was filming. Although she was used to it, a shiver still ran down her spine. I'm afraid her face is ruined even if she's saved.

Skylar got into the MPV and finally saw Laurel, whose fettle seemed worse than hers.

“I didn't pick you up early for the event today—”

“Forget it. Ask for leave in advance next time. Don't tell me only after it has happened,” Skylar interrupted, not intending to hear her explanation.

As Tobias said, no explanations were needed to justify an action. She had undeniably behaved unprofessionally that day. She was late for the promotional event and even walked away during the middle of an interview.

Skylar vaguely caught sight of the bandage on Laurel's wrist.

As there was still someone else in the car, Skylar lowered her voice and whispered in Laurel's ear, “Seriously? You sought to end your life because of a man? I thought things like that wouldn't happen in today's world.”

Laurel pulled down her sleeve. “This is my personal matter. Can I not answer?”

Seeing how resistant Laurel was, Skylar didn't ask anything more. She stared at her meaningfully and said, “Love yourself more. Don't be like me. I've been living my life in a muddled state. Until now, I don't even know exactly what I want. I wonder when I can say goodbye to days like these.”

Laurel flashed a bitter smile. She had thought she could move on from Gavin, focus on work, and live a life of her own. However, it didn't turn out as she wanted it to be.

She was having a tough time letting Gavin go. When she saw Gavin post an online wedding invitation on his Instagram, her heart stung so much it was as if it had been stabbed by a knife. Exclusive © content by N(ô)ve/l/Drama.Org.

“Will you be able to move on if you break up with Tobias one day?” she asked Skylar.

That was a hard question. “What else can I do besides moving on? Beg him to stay with me? Well, it's hard to say what's going to happen in the future. Let's just take one step at a time,” Skylar said.

Laurel closed her eyes and took a deep breath as sadness washed over her. “I'm not like you. You know, I envy you a lot, Skylar. You have your own career, and many people like you. Even if you break up with Tobias, you will find yourself a better man. Your days won't be bad.”

Skylar said self-deprecatingly, “That doesn't sound realistic. To be honest, I wouldn't join the entertainment industry if I had to choose again. Given my IQ and EQ, it's highly possible that I won't even know how I die if I am set up one day. Compared to those people, my tricks are barely worth mentioning.”

Laurel believed what she said. After all, she had been Skylar's assistant for some time and had seen how pretentious those people were. There could be malice behind every smile.

Seeing that Hannah had yet to show up since yesterday, Skylar asked casually, “What has Hannah been busy with recently? Unlike you, she doesn't even tell me anything. Is this how a boss should be treated?”
