Chapter 2217
Chapter 2217
The headlights shone in her direction as she entered the building. Only after she went inside, turned on the lights upstairs, did the man turn the car around and leave.
Back in her apartment. Sylvia hung up her coat, took a shower, changed into her loungewear, and sat at the desk on the balcony to read.
Every now and then, she lifted her gaze to peek at the night outside the window, listening to the ticking of the clock on the desk. She wasn't uneasy, probably because she knew he would return soon.
Sooner than expected, she heard the door.
Barefoot, she ran over and saw a man in a black shirt at the entrance. She threw her arms around him, "Cold?" His body was rigid and cold, her embrace warm and soft.
It was then Gabriel noticed the bruise on her shoulder, his eyes darkened, "Hurt?"
Sylvia shook her head, "It doesn't hurt anymore."
Gabriel lifted her in his arms and walked towards the couch, "Got any ointment?"
Sylvia chuckled softly, her head buried in his neck, "Remember the first time I got a bruise during training, and I asked you if you had any medicine? Do you remember what you told me then?”
Gabriel raised an eyebrow, "What did I say?"
"You said, ‘Endure it. Remember the pain. so next time you'll know how to dodge!'" Sylvia mimicked his tone, laughing. “You were so fierce, my tears were scared back into my eyes. I didn't dare to cry or say it hurt in front of you again.”
Gabriel set her down on the couch, his voice low, "Better to learn to avoid getting hurt than to treat wounds after."
Sylvia paused, then nodded, "True, that's a lesson for life.”
Eventually, Gabriel did find the first-aid kit and applied some ointment on her.
As he held her, ready to sleep, Sylvia suddenly spoke softly, “You had someone leave medicine in my room afterward, didn’t you?" Gabriel asked, “Did you use it?”
Sylvia snuggled closer, slowly shaking her head,
"No."
Once hurt, using medicine was merely psychological comfort.
It was past midnight when Baron woke up in a hospital bed. It took him a while to realize what had happened to him.
His eyes filled with despair and madness, he forcefully removed the IV needle, attempting to get out of bed.
Baron's uncle, Hans Barlow, rushed to stop him, "Don't be rash. The doctor said the wound could get infected. You need proper treatment.” Baron's face was pale and frantic as he clutched his uncle's arm, urgently asking, "Can it be healed?"
Hans frowned deeply, silent.
Knowing his uncle's expression, Baron realized his fate and fell back onto the-bed, his chest heaving, his face twisted in hatred, "Where's my dad need revenge. I want that bastard dead!" -
Hans said, “Baron, it was your dad who sent me. He's already booked you a 5 AM flight to M Country. We're leaving at dawn. I'll go with you."
Baron stared at Hans in disbelief, "What do you mean?"
Hans sighed, ' ‘Don't you understand? You've messed with someone you shouldp’t have. Not even your dad can mess with him. If it weren't for yoursinI uries, your dad wanted you outof the country immediately." Céntent belongs to
