In the past, Griffon had always been domineering and had

Taya raised her eyes and sized him up...

She picked up her phone and looked at the time. It was almost

ten o'clock. If she didn't go back now, Amon would definitely make trouble for her.

She frowned and said to him, "Whatever you think, but I have

to go back now. My mate is waiting for me."

Mate?

He was stunned as if he couldn't believe that she would say "mate".

Taya didn't explain further. She patted the lock and motioned for him to open the door. "I'll forget what happened just now. Please open the door and let me go."

He didn't seem to hear her. He stared at her with his red eyes

and asked, "You... Do you have a mate?"

She nodded without hesitation and raised her right hand for

him to see.

The moment he saw the glittering diamond ring on her ring finger, his heart skipped a beat.

"I'm mated."

Taya's simple words hit him like a semi truck.

He took a deep breath to relieve some of the dull pain, then raised his hand and grabbed her right hand...

He wrapped her small hand in his big palm and covered the dazzling diamond ring. Then, he looked down at her.

"In the past, in order to push me away, you lied to me several times. This time, I will never believe y again."

Taya's eyelashes trembled slightly as if she had recalled the past when she had lied to him. She quickly suppressed her reaction.

"I don't care if you don't believe me. I can easily prove who I am if you'd let me get my ID."

She pushed him away and got up to open the door, but he wrapped his arms around her waist and held her tightly in his

arms again.

Taya was so angry that she raised her hand and gave him

another slap. He didn't dodge. Instead, he took it head-on.

Then he lowered his head to kiss her.

This time, he kissed her very eagerly as if he wanted to make

sure that she was lying to him.

But...

A horn sounded on the opposite side, and then the light of the headlights shone on their faces.
