Chapter 901
Chapter 901
When Dr. Hanson walked out, Agnes rushed over and said, "How's Esther doing?"
He replied, "She's out of danger now. No need to worry."
With a hint of red in her eyes, Agnes said, "I'm so sorry, I had no idea she had this condition. I shouldn't
have given her the chocolate so carelessly."
Dr. Hanson sighed, "It's not your fault. The girl can't control herself and outsiders can't stop her. Ever
since she was little, I've tried to instill in her that she can't have sweets. But the more I did, the more
she wanted them. Isn't that just human nature? The forbidden fruit always tastes the sweetest. This
incident has been a harsh lesson for her. She's learned the hard way what's good for her and what's
off-limits."
Agnes felt an indescribable mix of emotions. She just felt terribly sorry for Esther.
But Dr. Hanson ended up comforting her instead. He added with regret, "It's a shame Esther's father
only comes to see her once a year, and he always takes her out for a few days of fun. He's due in a
couple of days, but with Esther in this condition, she obviously can't go anywhere."
Agnes felt even more guilty. She said, "Sir, I would like to meet Esther's father and apologize to him in
person."
After that, Agnes stayed at the herbal clinic to take care of Esther.

Esther was already much better.
Agnes found the chocolate she had left over and told Esther that she could never eat it again.
But Esther just started crying, "But candy tastes so good."
Agnes felt so bad for Esther.
Because of her condition, her diet had to be strictly controlled, and she spent years taking herbal
remedies. No wonder her parents left her here.
Esther, though, was the joy of the place, everyone's little darling. Everyone doted on her.
Two days passed.
Agnes thought Esther's dad would show up, ready to offer her sincere apologies.
But then word came that Esther's dad had to leave suddenly again.
They said he made it to the back yard but quickly left, looking flustered, no one knew why, and then he
was gone after a quick goodbye.
Agnes felt a sense of regret. Because Esther had been looking forward to the treats and toys her dad
always brought. But in the end, she didn't get to see him.
Agnes stayed a few more days until Esther was bouncing around again.
Finally, with a heavy heart, Agnes decided to leave.
After all, she had taken quite a few days off from her job at the TV station.
Even "The Primary Perspective" segment had been put on hold.
Agnes had her plane ticket back to the city ready.
But at the airport, she ran into Ryder Whitfield.
Agnes knew Ryder had been in the capital lately.
He was the talk of the financial news, having been stripped of his position as the CEO of the Thomas
Group.
As for why, no one knew.
She and Ryder were on the same flight, and their seats were next to each other. When Ryder sat
down, Agnes was quite surprised.
After a moment, she managed to say, "What a coincidence."
Ryder simply nodded, "What brings you to the capital?"
Agnes told Ryder about Nocturne's situation, knowing that Ryder had once been Nocturne's physician.
But deep down, Agnes was a bit worried.
Because she feared Ryder might have a bias against herbal medicine.
