Her Precious Baby

Chapter 168

Chapter 168

Angeline could not believe what Evander had just said.

Is he that confident in himself? I haven’t officially agreed to be his girlfriend, have I?

James’ demeanor instantly changed when he heard Evander’s introduction.

He hurriedly stepped forward and shook Angeline’s hand, smiling kindly at her. Since his Chanaean was not fluent, he spoke in Ustranasion.

“Ah, so you’re Evander’s woman. You guys sure are a perfect couple! But why are you wearing a veil?”

The interpreter standing next to James helped him to translate his words.

Angeline’s face flushed with embarrassment when she heard the question. A conflicted look flashed across her eyes as she pondered how to reply.

She knew it was impolite to wear a veil abroad. Nevertheless, she did not dare to take it off in her current condition.

Unfortunately, Angeline could not speak proper Ustranasion either. As she was about to speak up, Evander suddenly interjected and explained in fluent Ustranasion.

She could roughly understand the gist of it. Evander told James that she was suffering from an allergy, so she did not want to show her face for the time being.

When Evander finished explaining, James looked at Angeline sympathetically. He patted the back of her hand and reminded her to get more rest.

After exchanging a few more pleasantries with her, James left the hotel with the other foreigners.

Evander took Angeline’s hand as they stood outside the entrance to see off James and others. The car gradually disappeared from their sight.

After dealing with those matters, Evander pulled Angeline’s suitcase and led her to the elevator.

Looking at him, Angeline hastily said, “I haven’t registered a room yet.”

“There’s no need to do that,” Evander stated in a deep voice. His authoritative tone left no room for negotiation.

A dinging sound rang out, indicating that the elevator had reached the designated floor.

Evander was staying in a premium VIP suite. It was a spacious room with all kinds of advanced equipment.

This suite alone was more than enough to accommodate ten people.

After putting Angeline’s suitcase in the bedroom, Evander sat on the couch with his legs crossed.

He shot her an intent gaze and inquired, “Are you not going to explain why you came all the way to find me?”

At Evander’s question, Angeline began to panic. She sat in front of him like a child who had done something wrong.

“Are you still mad at me for what happened this morning?” she asked tentatively.

“Nope.”

Evander stared at Angeline intently, his eyebrows furrowed. “Did you come all the way here just to apologize to me?” he queried impatiently.

“Of course not,” Angeline responded, her cheeks flushing in embarrassment.

She clutched the corners of her shirt, looking a little flustered.

“In truth, I didn’t come here for a specific reason. By the way, I heard you tell James that I’m your girlfriend earlier. Don’t you think you’re being deceitful?”

“So what?” Evander asked, feeling somewhat displeased.

Taking a deep breath, Angeline mustered up her courage. She met his gaze with firm resolve and said, “Our relationship is as close as ever. Um… What I mean is… we should give it a try. Perhaps we’re more suited to each other than we imagined.”

At that moment, Angeline felt a huge weight had been lifted off her shoulders after saying those words.

The room fell into silence for several minutes. Just when Angeline thought she was not going to get a reply, Evander asked casually, “Have you thought it through?”

His tone was surprisingly calm.

Angeline was flabbergasted by Evander’s question.

After staring at him for a long time, she responded seriously, “Yes. However, I want to make myself clear in advance. I have a child, and I’ll never give up on looking for my child. Also, I have bad blood with the Sorelle family. I’m afraid these matters will affect you.”

“Are you done?” Evander asked indifferently, looking calm and collected as usual.

“You don’t mind?”

As soon as Angeline finished, Evander suddenly reached out and pulled her to sit on his lap. He used his hands to lock her tightly in his embrace, making her unable to move.

“First of all, you seem to have forgotten that I also have a five-year-old daughter, so there won’t be any couples who are more compatible than us. Secondly, do you truly think a mere Sorelle Group can harm me?” he probed.

It was undeniable that Angeline was too nervous at that moment. Furthermore, she tended to overthink situations compared to most people.

She almost forgot about Evander’s identity.

Even if the Yiurk and Sorelle families were to join forces, they might not be a match for him.

“Besides, if something happens to me, you will stand up for me, won’t you?”

Evander’s magnetic voice sounded very seductive. His warm breath lightly tickled her ear, causing her body to tingle.

She subconsciously pushed against Evander’s chest, trying to avoid his touches.

“Evander Golding, let go of me first! Let’s talk things out,” she pleaded with a trembling voice.

“What did you just call me? I’ll give you one more chance.”

“Evander, I—”

When Angeline woke up the following day, the sun was already high up in the sky. Much to her surprise, Evander was lying beside her.

He had propped his chin with one hand and was staring at her tenderly. “You’re awake?”

Angeline glanced at him in surprise. “Why haven’t you gone to work yet?”

“I took the morning off. I was waiting for you to wake up so that I could apply the ointment for you.” Content rights by NôvelDr//ama.Org.

After hearing Evander’s explanation, Angeline quickly stretched out her hands to cover her naked body under the quilt. Her cheeks reddened with embarrassment.

There was a tinge of disappointment in her voice when she asked, “I look ugly, don’t I?”

“Stop overthinking. You’re my woman, and I’ll never shun you.”

Caressing her head, Evander asked affectionately, “Do you want me to carry you to the bathroom?”

Angeline felt her heart turn into mush at his tenderness.

Wrapping her arms around his neck, she chuckled. “All right.”

Upon receiving Angeline’s permission, Evander carried her to the bathroom.

She sat in front of the sink, swinging her long legs back and forth while watching Evander squeeze some toothpaste for her.

After contemplating for a while, Angeline spoke up in a serious tone. “Evander, I’m going back home early this afternoon. I’ve signed Jacob up to do a live broadcast for Forrester Group. I know you’ll be angry about this, but you can always send a subordinate to supervise us if you’re worried.”

“Okay,” Evander answered in a deep voice before handing the toothbrush to her.

Okay? Is he not angry at me?
