Chapter 277
Chapter 277
She seemed to have been waiting for liis apology for many years.
However, the moment Hanson said it. Angeline felt a sense of relief all of a sudden.
She took a deep breath to calm herself down before pushing liis hand away.
“Mr. Yiurk, since you have already signed the contract, there will be no need for us to have any more interaction in the future to avoid any misunderstanding," said Angeline nonchalantly.
She did not hold back and went straight to the point.
Then she pushed Hanson away without even looking at liis expression and left the cafe.
Just as Angeline was about to close the door, her shoulders trembled, and there were tears in her eyes.
She was not upset because she was cutting off ties with Hanson. Instead, it was the sudden emergence of the wonderful memories of their younger days that caused her melancholy.
During their school days, Hanson used to deliver breakfast to her. Then again, he was no longer the same boy who used to send her to and from school on his bicycle.
Back then, when she found out that Hanson was dating Joseline, she admitted that she was indeed furious. That was also why she refused to have anything to do with the Sorelie family for so many years.
However, she realized right now that she had long forgotten about those memories and did not plan to spend more time hating them.
When she got back to her office, Nancy, who was playing with toy blocks with Sebastian, walked up to her and asked caringly, “How was it? Did Hanson make things difficult for you?"
“No," replied Angeline with a smile. “I was only there to make a deal. I bought all of liis shares in Forrester Group with three million."
“Three million?"
“Yes, that's what my grandpa left for me in liis will."
Angeline seemed so cool. It was as if she had only spent a small sum of money.
She patted Nancy's shoulder and teased. “Now, I'm really broke. Forrester Group is my final gamble. You have to find me the best designer."
When Nancy heard that, she smacked herself on the forehead.
“You're crazy. Wliat if your plan fails?”
“There's nothing to be worried about. Back then, my mother wasn't afraid of anything and went all out to set up Forrester Group." Angeline shrugged. “It's no big deal. In the worst-case scenario, I'll just return to the entertainment industry."
“Forget it. I won't take you back."
Nancy rolled her eyes. Although she was tough with her words, deep down, she was still very considerate of Angeline.
“My senior is living in seclusion on Linlow Island. If you really want to hire him, send someone there immediately."
“Send me the address." Angeline looked grim. “I'll go over personally.”
She could not trust any of her employees in Forrester Group. She would have to do everything by herself and choose the best designer. From NôvelDrama.Org.
Angeline spent the night packing her luggage. The next day. she flew off to Linlow Island after booking her air ticket.
Before leaving, she entrusted Sebastian to Nancy.
Even though Angeline had labeled all of Sebastian's things and left an instruction, she was still worried.
“Nancy, please take care of Sebastian once I leave. It can be a little difficult trying to get him to take liis medications. You can mix his medicine into liis milk."
“Got it, old lady!" Nancy nibbed her earlobes. Unable to stand her nagging, she pushed Angeline toward the car. “You'll be away only for three days. Don't nag like an old lady. I promise you I will take good care of Sebastian."
There was no response from Angeline.
With her hand on the car door handle, she frowned and tinned to look at Sebastian with worry.
The boy walked up to her and tugged at her clothes to get her to kneel down.
He then tiptoed and gave Angeline a peck on her cheek.
His clenched fists seemed to be egging her on.
Angelinas heart melted, and she kissed liim on liis forehead too. She said gently, “Don't worry. I will come back safely. Be good and wait for me, okay?"
Sebastian nodded with a serious expression before he dug into his pocket. He took out the phone that Angeline had given liim and shoved it in front of her.
Angeline did not understand what he was trying to tell her until she saw his chat window with Floretta.
Although Sebastian could not talk, he was a very thoughtful child.
He wanted to let her know that he would be waiting with Floretta for her to come home.
During that time, Angeline had never mentioned Floretta because she did not want to upset liim. However, a day did not go by without her thinking of that little girl.
■'Thank you." Angeline caressed liis head and looked reluctant to leave. “I will do my best and return with Floretta to see you. okay?"
Even though Sebastian could not talk, he understood her difficulties. He nodded.
Since it was getting late, and Angeline did not want to miss her fight, she got into the taxi and headed to the airport.
It was a gloomy day. Before she boarded her plane, there was a small thunderstorm, causing the flight to be temporarily delayed for a few hours.
Angeline only arrived at Linlow Island on the second night.
The location of Linlow Island was very remote, and there was only one village. Other than the acres of peach trees, there were no other villages.
Linlow Island was known for its peach wine. The villagers there made a livelihood out of it.
Once Angeline got off the plane, she got into a taxi and went to the village.
By the time she arrived at her destination, it was already after seven in the evening, and the sky was getting dark. Angeline felt a sense of fear as she landed in a foreign place.
Nevertheless, she braced herself for the unknown. With one hand holding onto her luggage and the other holding a flashlight, she ventured toward a small thatched hut near the entrance of the village.
Knock! Knock!
There was a soft yellow glow coming from the hut. She raised her hand to knock on the door.
After a short while, she heard a creak, and someone opened the door. An elderly man wearing a bamboo hat walked out.
“Miss, you aren't from our village, are you? How can I help you?"
“Nice to meet you, Sir," Angeline greeted liim politely. She showed him a piece of paper and pointed to the address written on it. “Do you know someone by the name of Joel Quinn? Or perhaps you can tell me where this address is located?”
“So, you're here to look for Joel too." The face of the elderly man darkened. “Is he the one who used to work as a designer overseas?”
“That's right. Do you know him?” Angeline looked at the elderly man and was a little confused.
“Linlow Island is a very small place. There're only so many households here. Everyone knows everybody's background here.” The man eyed her with pity and sighed. “If you're also trying to hire liim as a designer or get some guidance from him, I advise you to drop the idea.”
“Wliat do you mean?”
