Chapter 890 Work Stopped
Chapter 890 Work Stopped
The children were taken away by Brian. Once the children left, she took the papers out again.
Her goal was to mull over the paperwork this evening and start working on it tomorrow.
Brian went back to Winnie's room after the children went asleep, as he was worried that Winnie would
continue working.
She was taking her work too seriously, however Brian was afraid that it was affecting her health.
Entering directly without knocking, Brian saw Winnie reading a document as expected.
Brian didn't say anything and walked over to Winnie to grab the document out of her hand.
"What are you doing?"
Winnie asked.
"It's break time, can't work."
"Go to bed, the papers will be for you in the morning."
Brian turned around and left with Winnie's document.
"Wait ......"
Winnie reacted quickly, her voice falling and her blocking in front of Brian.
"You'll affect my work progress. It might not be able to be developed for six months."
Winnie protested. She must not drag the work, so she could get herself not involved with Brian at work.
"I'm the Party A. Did I say it is in a hurry? Is there a time limit on the contract? What's your hurry?"
"Hurry up and go to bed......"
Before Brian could finish his words, the document in his hand was snatched away by Winnie
unexpectedly.
"Party A is not in a hurry, but Party B must have a responsibility. There is no time specified in the
contract, but I may develop it as soon as possible."
"I'm taking this job and I will devote myself to it. I can't take your money, but drag it on."
Winnie had her own ideas, and no matter what the excuse was, she had to seize the time she could.
Winnie hid the papers behind her and walked towards the bed. She thought Brian would just leave, but
when she sat down to work, Brian followed her.
"Go to sleep."
Winnie reminded, hoping that he would leave and not interfere with her work, but not only did Brian not
leave, he was lying on Winnie's bed instead.
"How can I go to bed when my partner is still working?"
"You can work, but I can stay up with you."
Brian closed his eyes, fearing that his secret joy would leak from his open eyes.
Since she had to work, Brian would keep her accompany.
"How am I supposed to work while you're here?"
Winnie protested. Her work required quiet environment, and with Brian lying here, she was not able to
work.
"No work then, go to sleep first."
Brian opened his eyes as his words fell, and pulled Winnie down into his arms.
"Lying down is much more comfortable than working, and this is the time to lie down and sleep, you
can't go against the biological clock."
"Let go, you're bumming out."
"Brian Bennet......"
"Winnie Chambers, can you not be so stubborn? Do you know you're stubborn like a bull?"
Brian didn't give Winnie a chance to resist. She was calling his name, and he could call her name as
well. Even with such an uninteresting game, Brian felt better than the tight nerves at work.
"I look like a bull?"
Winnie was furious, sat up and started slapping Brian with the papers in her hands.
"You're even more stubborn than I am, and you have the nerve to say I'm like a bull."
"You can’t describe people like that, you know?"
Winnie did not speak foul language, and even she was angry, she spoke in a courteous manner.
Brian was beaten without getting angry, instead he smiled brightly.
It was one of the few times in his life that he had been beaten, and the important thing was that it was
the same woman dared to beat him.
"Now that you know I'm stubborn than you, lie down and sleep."
With one force, Brian pulled Winnie down into his arms again.
"Let go of me, I'm going to sleep now."
Winnie felt a certain kind of danger when she got close to Brian. This danger did not come from Brian,
but from her own strongly beating heart.
She was afraid that she couldn't control kissing Brian, afraid that she couldn't control her physical
needs again, afraid that her heart once again was in turmoil.
"Good, work is not the most important, get enough sleep, so that you have a healthy body and energy
to work."
"Remember, no more working at late nights. You can't work past 10:30 p.m., and if you do, I'll do it
again like I did today ......"
"Cut the crap, it's ten-thirty now."
Winnie interrupted Brian.
She didn't dare to listen further, always feeling there was sunlight in his words shining in her heart,
making her heart melt little by little, making her feel his concern.
Brian raised the corners of his mouth and looked sideways at Winnie.
It feels so good to hold his beloved in arms and feel her body heat, maybe that was the most down-to-
earth feeling of all.
"Give me the document, and I'll return it to you in the morning."
Brian let go of Winnie, but reached out to ask Winnie for the document.
Winnie sat up and then stared at Brian in anger, not wanting to hand over the document but having no
choice. Finally, she reluctantly slammed the document into Brian's hand.
"Good girl, go to sleep."
Brian laughed at Winnie's reluctance and at how cute she was even when she was angry.
Brian took the document and left, walking to the door with another reminder.
"Don't try to copy the document, and if I catch you doing it, I'll live in your place and keep an eye on you
all the time."
Brian knew that Winnie would think of other ways to continue to stay up late working.
Brian did not give a reminder but a threat, or he would live with Winnie in her house.
Winnie was angry with Brian, she picked up a pillow and smashed it at him, but luckily, Brian closed the
door in time and was spared from this disaster.
From the next day onwards, Winnie brought home the work, and with Brian there, she did not have to
pick up the children. She devoted most of her time to work.
She carried out her work in Brian's studio and devoted herself into it.
As she was working carefully, she heard a knock at the door.
She went straight to the door and then opened it.
"What is wrong, Raya?"
Winnie asked.
"Mr. Felix is here, do you want to go down and meet him?"
Raya consulted Winnie, because Winnie was alone at home
"Chairman? What's he doing here?"
Winnie was surprised.
"I don’t know, he is downstairs now."
Raya really didn't know what Felix was doing over here.
"I'll go down, then."
Winnie was at home, and she couldn't just pretend she didn't know and avoid meeting him.
Winnie first went back to her desk to save the contents of her computer so that she wouldn't lose the
data, before walking out of the studio.
Just after closing the studio door, she saw Felix standing at the stairway on the second floor.
"You're here, Chairman."
Winnie greeted him and walked over to Felix.
"Rufus wants to pick up some clothes, so I came over to help get them."
"They said you were working and I came to see."
Felix was a bit out of breath when he walked up to the second floor, so Winnie couldn't let him go down
right away. But the second floor was Brian's studio, so Winnie could only bring Felix to the studio.
"Chairman, will your come with me to the studio for some rest?"
Winnie assisted Felix as she spoke, walking towards the studio. She then talked to Raya.
"Raya, help get Mr. Rufus’s clothes."
"Okay, I will get it now."
Raya went downstairs after answering, and Winnie assisted Felix to walk into the studio.
"Lowe, come in and sit too."
Winnie invited Butler Lowe who was standing by the door.
"No, this is a studio, I can’t go in. I'll just wait downstairs."
When Butler Lowe finished speaking, he closed the door, separating himself from the studio.
But he didn't go downstairs, but went to Vanessa's room.
In the studio.
"Is this Brian's studio or yours?"
Felix sat on the couch and looked around.
"Brian’s, I've got some work, so I work here."
Winnie answered honestly, wondering if Felix knew about her cooperation with Brian.
"Oh, I didn’t know you are working, am I interrupting?"
Felix didn't expect Winnie to be at home, and the reason he came up was to create an opportunity for
Butler Lowe to do his work.
"No, I'll be working at home all this time and won't be going out."
"I signed a new software engineering project with the Bennet Group and that's what I'm doing from
home."
Winnie told him the truth. Although she didn't know if Brian had told Felix about it, she felt that she
should say it again at this moment.
She told him was because she was showing that she had no motives.
"Oh, Brian didn't tell me."
"Since it's work, why don't you go to the office instead of working at home?"
Felix was surprised but did not show it, just told himself that he should be more cautious, because
Winnie was the daughter of Dominik Chambers. Content bel0ngs to Nôvel(D)r/a/ma.Org.
"I'm afraid to bring unnecessary trouble to Mr. Bennet if I work in the office, the staff will have gossip
about us."
"So it would be better to work from home."
Winnie did have this reason for not going to the company, not wanting herself to be talked about nor did
she want Brian to be looked down upon by the employees.
Wherever she was, she got the job done perfectly.
"You have a point, and since it's work, Brian should prepare a more professional studio for you."
Felix was confused, and he still suspected Winnie's purpose for working from home.
