His Cure

I heard you went out

Happiness illuminated in his eyes but that was dropped immediately she added the suffix;

“I would come here later to enjoy that alone.”

He concealed his disappoinment with a fake smile.

He blamed himself for having too much hopes.

After all, she already has a fianceè she would be getting married to in weeks to come.

“Were you disappointed that I wouldn’t be coming back here with you though?”Beatrice saw the sad look on his face a while ago and she decided to taunt him with that.

“Well.. a bit.”he admitted.

“Why would you be?. I’ve already thanked, no, I’m already thanking you now with a date which we both know is a one – off thing, so, why would you be greedy for another one?.”

He blinked his lashes and glanced down at the table.

“What?. That was a joke, don’t be sad. I didn’t mean that. Besides, even if I would like to go on another one with you, I don’t think that would be okay. You’re a recognized figure so you should understand this media stuffs. I just got out of one recently so.. I know how it is.”she explained.

He smiled at her then suddenly convulsed.

“Huh?. That’s not funny, Zack.”she wore a frown.

“It is. Lesbian?, hahaha..”it is more funny that he who was worried when he saw that news is now laughing it off.

How life usually takes an unexpected twist are sometimes an unexpected blessing.

They found themselves chatting and laughing at each other’s jokes as they enjoyed their food.

Later, when they were done eating, they went to stand by the window, each of them holding a glass of wine as they stared down at the beautiful view of the city from the tower.

Beatrice suddenly wishes that she had met him before she met Daniel.

But, even if that was the case, Gregory would have separated them still, or maybe not.

Zack was so fun to be with that she didn’t want their moments together to end.

But, that was how Daniel was from their first date too so she gently took that wish back.

“Hm, here’s to our friendship. I pray from today on, our friendship would be tight; inseparable, filled with joy and peace. Cheers to our happy friendship.”she held her glass up.

Zack smiled before raising his cup up too.

“Cheers.”they clinked glasses together.

“You are actually my first friend you know.”

“Same here.”Zack chuckles.

“Woah; We are both boring lads but we did made sure to make each other entertained tonight, didn’t we?”

“We surely did.”he took his lips in.

“That means we definitely clicked together.”she winked at him.

Zack gave a nod and pressed his lips together.

She drank from her wine and sighed.

She felt like pouring out her mind about the marriage talks and all to him but she felt that wasn’t the right moment.

She doesn’t know him well enough so she shouldn’t open up to him so well yet.

They left the restaurant and hit the road.

She wrapped her arms around her body and sighed.

“I feel so hot.”she mumbled.

Zack laughs silently before letting down the roof of the car.

Beatrice snapped her eyes opened when she sensed the great wind that suddenly enveloped the car, blowing her hair away.

She gazed up and smiled.

Daniel had a convertible car like this so she isn’t much surprised.

She relaxed back on the seat and sigh.

“Wake me up if by chance, I dozed off.”she said to him.

“Okay.”he nodded.

They arrived at the mansion’s gate and he turned off the engine.

He stared at her beside him and blinked.

His heart weighed him down that moment.

He couldn’t find himself waking her up.

He brushed her hair back slowly.

She turned her head sleepily and he chuckled.

He tapped her on the shoulder gently.

“Beatrice. We are here.”

She grumbled then opened her arms.

“Carry me.”she pouted.

He would have done that if she was not with another man. He would have happily carried her up in his arms and inside the house if there was no obstacle.

But, he knew he would be courting his death should he do that now.

He laughed it off.

He carried his bottle and sprinkled some water on her face.

Beatrice gasps and opened her eyes.

“Godd! Zack, that was not nice of you!”she yelled in a whine.

“Well, what else can I do?. I was waking you up, but, you weren’t willing to wake up, so I decided to do what would keep you awake.”he uttered sweetly.

“You must like rhyme a lot, don’t you?”she hissed.

Zack laughed.

“And, you must like sleeping a lot.”

“Of course! What else did you expect from a writer?. All I do is sleep, eat then write a little.”she pouts before unstrapping her seatbelt.

“You are a writer?. I thought that was not true, but you truly are.”

“Well… duhhhh”she rolled her eyes.

“How about you write a story about us?. We started as friends then.. later, we became soulmates.”

“I’m afraid that’s not a very good plotline, mister.”she chuckled.

Zack grinned.

“That is cool though. This is the first time I would be meeting a writer.”

“You want an award?. Welcome to my list though. Anything you say or do would be used in my story. Be wary of what you utter and do around me so it would not really shock you when you find them in my best – selling novel.”she joked.

Zack whooped up in laughter and coughed.

“Ugh.. Beatrice. Anyway, what genre do you write mostly?”

“Romance.. maybe.”she shrugged.

“Look at me. Do I look like a character from your novel?”

She smirks.

“Yes, you do. You look like the ugly man that covets after my female lead. Nice to meet you, my fictional character.”she quipped.

Zack glared at her playfully.

“Alright, alright, get down. This ugly lad would like to be on his way.”

“Oops! Your favorite author is off!”she announced as she alighted from the car.

He slides down the louvers and scoffed.

“How can you be my favorite author when I’ve not even read any of your books?”

“I write book mostly in my imagination, you know. Bye bye, my loyal reader. Thank you for the five stars.”

“I am giving you a star!”

“Come on, you’re Zack, four letter words. You should give me four stars, at least.”she grinned before passing through the gate.

Zack shook his head with a smile then zoom off.

Beatrice walked inside the compound with a big smile.

She walked inside and met Melinda watching the TV.

Huh?

Why is a cook sitting on the couch and watching the TV?

She is not trying to look down on her but just surprised as this is the first time she would be seeing such.

Well, maybe he is not that bad to his workers then.

“Hi.”she smiled at Melinda.

“Your face looks more bright now. I bet you really enjoyed yourself.”Melinda grinned.

“Of course, I did.. thank you.”Beatrice smiled at her before heading to the staircase.

She climbed it up to her room.

She opened the door of her room and shut it silently.

She turned back and she freaked out when she saw the familiar figure.Exclusive © material by Nô(/v)elDrama.Org.

He looks up at her with cold eyes.

“I heard you went out.”
