CHAPTER SIXTEEN
“Hailey, wait.” I chased him once holding her hand.
“Do you need something?” I’m not used into it. The cold of her treatment of me. It was only yesterday that I am not good at her. But, it’s just a snap, here, I am chasing her.
“I am sorry for everything I said and did to you.” Damn. What the hell is happening to me?
“Why are you sorry?” she asked me.
“Because, because I hurt you.”
“Don’t be sorry. Something you did or said on purpose don’t apologize. Especially if before you did or said you knew it would hurt someone or it would affect others but you still did it . Sorry is for the things that you’ve unintentionally said, accidentally did. But if you know what you’re doing, if you know what you’re saying, don’t say for it. ”
“Hailey.”
“Before you said hurtful words to me you knew I would be hurt. But you enjoyed hurting me. You were happy to hurt me. So why would you be sorry? If you enjoyed what you did even if you hurt someone.”
“I didn’t mean —”
“You mean it,” she interrupted me. “You mean every word you said, every action you made. I feel it.”
“I’m sorry, even if you don’t believe me, I’m still sorry.”
“Ok, do you have anything else to say? Because I still have work to do.” I shook my head and let her go.
When she got inside I punched the wall. I pulled myself together out of annoyance. I looked at her bedroom door. I want to knock and talk to her. But what can I say? I also do not know. I just knew I wanted to talk to her.
I sat on the side of the door while waiting for it to open again. I no longer knew what was happening to me. I don’t understand what I’m doing and nothing else runs through my mind right now but what she said annulment.
Is it really true that she will file?
That’s what I want, so I punish her, fight and insult her. But now, I don’t want to. Suddenly everything changed. And I do not know why. Fuck, that fast? How quickly did I change my mind?
The door opened and Hailey came out. She was surprised to see me on the side of the door but I quickly stood up.
“What are you doing there?”
“I want to–”
I hadn’t finished what I was about to say when the doorbell rang.
“That’s the one who pick me,” she said.
“Pick you?” Then I noticed the suitcase in her hand. “Are you leaving?”
“I’ll be at the mansion first while the annulment is being arranged. The two horses will also give birth. No one else knows how to give birth in the hacienda but manong Tasyo and me.” Why am I disgusted? I used to not care what she would do. I just said yes to what she wanted but now I am disgusted to think that she decided not to let me know.
“I’m coming,” I said.
“What?”
“I said I’ll come with you.”
I do not care. I’ll just call Dane that I won’t come in and I’ll fix something. The doorbell rang again so I headed for it. She followed me as she dragged the suitcase. When I opened the door I saw Enrique outside. Is he what she called?
“Prince,” Hailey called to Enrique.
“Are you ready princess?”
“She won’t come with you. I’ll take her with me because I’m also going to the mansion so leave now,” I shooed him away.
“You’re not the one I’m talking to, Phoenix, it’s Hailey I’m asking.” I want to punch him. Isn’t he ashamed? Is he still flirting with my wife?
“She’s my wife so I have the right to decide.”
“Wife on paper and close to be not.” I frowned at what he said. He knew about Hailey’s plan. “Princess?”
“You’re not going with her, Hailey.” I said and look at her. “I won’t stop you from leaving but I am the one who will send you.”
“As if you’re concern of Hailey’s decision, Phoenix, because we know you don’t really care about her.”
“Grandpa left her to me.”
“You’re not sure.”
“What? What did you say?”
“It’s ok, prince, I’m sorry for the inconvenience I caused. I will come with Phoenix.”
“Are you sure you will come with this man?” I am her husband but if this asshole can react it’s like I am anyone here. I looked at Hailey who was staring at me.
“Even if you say no, Hailey, I won’t let you go,” I said.
“Yes, prince, I will come with him,” my wife replied. Yes, my wife, my Hailey. And mine only.
“If you said so, but if you change your mind just call me. I’ll be back and I don’t care about other people’s opinion.” Tss, he’s talking too much.
“I’m the husband not someone else.”
“Shall I repeat where you are married?”
“All right prince, be careful.”
“All right, be careful princess.” I closed the door after he said that and I didn’t care about him. I maybe rude but he can take care of his life.
“Asshole.” I said angrily.
“Will you take me or will I call Enrique back?”
“Hailey, what are you really Enrique?” I know this is a stupid question but I just want to know what they are. It’s because that rascal is getting closer and closer to her even though she’s already married.© 2024 Nôv/el/Dram/a.Org.
“What you believe.” She used to stress to me that they were just friends.
“Hailey.”
“I’ve been waiting for you, Phoenix, will you take me or am I leaving?”
“Yes, I’ll get dressed.”
I went into the bedroom and took a suitcase and put all my belongings. I don’t care what I put all I want is to finish fixing my things. When I came out she was still there. She was even surprised to see that I had a suitcase.
“Why do you have a suitcase?”
“I’m going to stay at the mansion. Let’s go.” I grabbed her suitcase and then we walked out of the unit.
While we were on the way we did not talk. Suddenly my stomach rumbled and then I just remembered that I hadn’t eaten breakfast yet.
“You didn’t eat?” she asked.
“I forgot.” She grabbed something from the bag. A biscuit and mineral water.
“Oh, cross hunger.” She reached out to me. I hate myself even more. Even though she treated me cold, she still take care of me.
“Later, when we comes to the mansion.” But she opened the biscuit and put in my mouth.
“I will feed you, cause I know you’re driving.”
“Huh?”
“You’re already gaping.” I feel all the butterflies fly in my stomach. I gasped when she fed me. Good thing there weren’t too many cars and the road was wide because we might have crashed somewhere because of how I feel now.
“Thank you,” I said once chewing.
I ran out of biscuits. Even when I drink water, she supports me until I’m finish.
“Thank you, Hailey.” But she didn’t answer and just looked outside.
Until we got to the mansion she didn’t move.
