Chapter 3072
Ivy looked backward.
"Shelly!" Ivy immediately walked over to Shelly.
Shelly was surprised to see Ivy. "Ivy, why are you here?"
"I'm here to look for you!" Ivy held Shelly's hand. "I begged Courtney to give me your address."
Shelly blushed. "Does your family know you're here? Are you here alone?"
"Yeah! My parents didn't want me to come alone, but they couldn't stop me."
Just then, the receptionist called Ivy's name.
Ivy grabbed her room card, while Shelly carried her suitcase for her as the two walked toward the elevator.
"Shelly, have you eaten? I'm starving. Let's go eat after I set my suitcase into my room!" Ivy did not have an appetite on the flight and was now starving.
"Sure. Let's not eat here in the hotel. I know a restaurant nearby that serves great food."
"Okay."
After settling Ivy's luggage, the two of them went to the restaurant that Shelly knew.
Ivy did not know what to order, so she let Shelly decide.
After ordering and handing the menu back to the waiter, Shelly looked at Ivy and asked, "Ivy, does your brother know that you came to find me?"
"He knows! There are no secrets in our family," Ivy replied calmly. "He didn't say anything, though."
Shelly lowered her gaze.
"Shelly, Aiden changed his name. Your parents must have told you, right?" Ivy added.
"They did," Shelly responded. "The new name sounds nice."
"Yes, we all came up with it together." Ivy paused for a moment and then asked, "Shelly, why did you decide to leave my brother all of a sudden? They say it's because you got scared and ran away, but I don't think of you as a coward."Content from NôvelDr(a)ma.Org.
Shelly was stunned.
"I read a line in a book once. It said that there is always a reason behind everything that happens. You're not someone who acts on a whim. You wouldn't suddenly change your mind after agreeing to marry my brother. You're not that impulsive."
Tears welled up in Shelly's eyes.
"Shelly, if you encounter any difficulties, please don't bear them alone. Your family stands behind you, alongside my family. We will all help you," Ivy reassured her.
"I don't have any difficulties... It's your brother who is facing challenges," Shelly muttered.
Ivy was taken aback. "What difficulties is my brother facing? He didn't tell us anything!"
"I heard that your brother's company
is facing problems, but he's the type
of person who won't seek help, even when he's in trouble," Shelly explained as she wiped the tears from her eyes. "Seeing him struggle so hard while I can't do anything is painful for me."
Ivy burst into laughter. "So that's what it is. Since my brother is facing
difficulties now, isn't that all the
Inet
more reason to stay by his side? Right now, he's going through
setbacks in both his career and his relationship. That must be really tough!"
"Ivy, how can you still laugh about it?"
Ivy replied, still smiling, "Are you worried about my brother's career? I don't think the problems he's facing are that significant." She paused for a moment and added, "Let me give him a call now. He won't lie to
me."
Ivy called Hayden's number, and, after a few rings, he picked up.
"Hayden, is your company in trouble?" Ivy asked.
Hayden pinched the bridge of his nose and replied in a hoarse voice, "It's just a minor issue, and it's almost resolved. Who told you that?"
"Shelly told me. I'm with her right now," Ivy said.
