His Eagle Eyes on Me

Chapter 3100

"Do you like me?" he paused. "Why?"

Her heart raced. "Because you look handsome."

Amused, he said, "You are lying!"

"How can you tell?" Ivy asked.

"Considering your looks, I'm sure you have a lot of pursuers, and there are bound to be guys more handsome than I among them."

"Fine, but sometimes chemistry is important, too. I think there's a chemistry between us," she said.

"You just won't tell me the truth, huh?" he said.

"That's not the point. Are you going to take your mom to Aryadelle for treatment? If you want to—"This belongs to NôvelDrama.Org.

"No," he said. "I spoke to her about it, and she does not want to go anywhere else."

"Your mom doesn't want to spend your money, right? I understand that," Ivy said.

Back when Ivy's grandmother was ill, she would not allow Ivy to buy even generic painkillers because she wanted Ivy to save the money instead. "You're rubbing salt on my wound with that statement," Lucas said.

"I'm sorry. I just want your mother to live a little longer. I can help you with the money..." Ivy lowered her head, her voice getting softer.

"I can tell you have money now, but I will never take your money!" Lucas said firmly.

Feeling discouraged, Ivy asked, "If we had known each other in the past, would you still be this distant?"

"If we had truly known each other, then why don't I remember you?" Lucas asked.

"People change, and so do their appearances," Ivy said.

"You're kidding me? I looked the same even when I was a child," Lucas said.

Ivy fell silent.

Lucas parked the car in front of the company's entrance.

"You don't have to follow me anymore! I really dislike people like you who have no sense of

boundaries! I've given you several et

chances, and you still can't tell me

why you are here. Well, I no longer want to know the answer!" Lucas said and walked into the building.

Watching his departing figure, a sorrowful expression crossed Ivy's face as she thought, "Why does fate play such tricks on people? In the past, I was just a servant to Lucas, and we were from different worlds. Even though I'm no longer a servant, we are still in different worlds. If I am to tell Lucas that I'm Elliot Foster's daughter, I feel like he would distance himself even further."

Sitting by the stairs, Ivy gazed at the bustling traffic in a daze.

She did not want to go back to the hotel. Although she could not stay by Lucas' side now, she still wanted to be close to him.

Her parents would not let her stay in

Taronia, so she would be going home in a few days, and before she went home, she wanted to stay with Lucas in whatever way she could as her way of saying goodbye to her past. She wanted this even if it

meant never seeing him again.

It drizzled that afternoon, but Ivy continued to sit on the steps. She did not move.

She used to often endure this kind of drizzle in the past.

Meanwhile, Caspian brought a cup of coffee to Lucas's office and said, "Lucas, your little assistant is outside in the rain!"

Lucas frowned. "You mean Ivy?"

"Yes! I just went down for a smoke and to pick up the food I ordered. I saw her sitting on the stairs, looking silly. Her clothes are all wet from the rain. She didn't even bother seeking shelter. She looks so weird that I didn't dare talk to her."
